AMERICA IS MISSING THE REAL POLITICAL DRIFT

SPECIAL POST

We all had our focus just a few weeks ago when the Obama radicals started their campaign to distort what is real. We all knew in our hearts and souls that we had to get rid of the establishment, the incumbent s.o.b.’s who have created our national mess at a federal and a state level over the last several decades. Yes, we agreed, regardless of being Democrat or Republican or Independent, if they have been for of the “good old boy” Washington network, they have to go.

Have we lost sight of that objective?

Two prime examples of where I am going with this special post are: (1) You have Carly Fiorina running against Barbara Boxer and you have the public concern that Fiorina is new to politics, has lots of money and ran HP; (2) You have Meg Whitman running against Jerry Brown and you have the outcry that Whitman is spending millions and millions of her own money to win and SHE has no political experience.

Come one folks, get real. We all know that Barbara Boxer is a tartly little snit who has consistently voted for her own special interests and who has ignored the will of the people. We are aware of her elitist put-downs of Generals and others and we know that she has done a great disservice to the country. I submit that Craig Highfellow would be a much better occupant of that Senate seat than Boxer. Who is Craig Highfellow? I don’t know either and that makes the point; Boxer has done such a bad disservice to us that she needs to be replaced… by anyone! So, don’t get tangled up in the bad Fiorina press; we don’t yet know what kind of a Senator she would make, but we certainly know what kind of a Senator Boxer has been.

Same with the Whitman vs. Brown Gubernatorial race. We KNOW from past experience what kind of a Governor Brown will be. We need to choose anyone but him.

Unlike prior elections, this is not about who runs the slickest campaign or who has the most money or who talks the nicest. This is about corruption in office, a lack of responsibility to the citizens, and cavalier spending and misspending of our money. This is about an establishment that simply must be removed.

So, don’t be to blame for not routing out the establishment. Don’t get sidetracked with fallacious arguments.

Throw the incumbents and the establishment out, OUT, OUT.

MEXICO FALLING INTO ANARCHY?

The number of drug related deaths in Mexico is growing by the second. Victims are found hanging upside down from their legs, with their heads lopped off. Bullets are flying in all directions, including over the border and into American homes and businesses. Every day brings more stories of judges and civic leaders being murdered and major cities falling into anarchy.

Americans living in Mexico are now being pried out of their comfortable retirement abodes and are flocking back across the border, fleeing for their lives. Now, more than ever, Mexicans are looking to the North for a venue of safe haven.

The Obama Administration has responded with great aplomb: they’re adding 1,200 National Guard troops to the border and another 1,000 Border Patrol agents as well. Word is wafting about in Washington that Obama is preparing to open the borders wide and to offer to house and feed the fleeing Mexicans and to provide them with some of the trappings of health care, education, housing, and jobs. Usually, when something wafts around the streets and alleys of Washington, there’s substance to it.

I’m not suggesting that we should turn our backs on humanity. But, let me ask you a question: If all of the clean-living Mexicans come across the border and leave only the drug lords and their puppets behind, what do you think those drug lords and puppets will do next? The fact is, they’re already jumping the borders themselves and committing murder and mayhem in Phoenix, Nogales, Tucson and other border cities. Obama and his Czarist cronies in the White House are responding with yawns and shrugs.

We have a major problem here that is not only brewing, it’s beginning to boil.

Those of us who live up north are able to watch the horrors and atrocities oozing forth from the border and to say, “Gosh, gee whilikers, those folks down there are having a tough time of it.” If you are afraid of the American gang activities going on across the country right now, wait until these Mexican gangs and drug lords bring their forms of onslaught to a street near you. The Obama Administration has proven beyond a reasonable doubt that it is either incapable of giving the issue proper response or it simply doesn’t care how much turmoil we have in America.

It’s time for us to take the bull by the horns and to start demanding action from Congress. We need a large number of troops on the boarder and we need to be partnering with the Mexican government to help them clean this mess up… whether their government wants our help or not. Only when the drug lords are killed or locked up can peace return to the Mexican countryside and only then can the pressure for Mexicans to cross the border into the United States be diminished.

If there is a war to be fought anywhere, the one closest to home should take precedence. If there is anyone to blame in America for this mess, it’s the incumbent in the White House and his allies in the Congress.

SICK AND TIRED OF DONATION REQUESTS

SPECIAL POST

Here’s an interesting complaint from a reader of the BURNEY MOUNTAIN HERMIT.

“Why is it that every political candidate, every political party, every charitable cause and every other organization looking for a handout is picking on me? I get so much mail every day that it will not fit in my box. I only get 35 telephone calls a week and 34 of those are from someone looking for money; the other call is from my ex-wife’s attorney, looking for money. When I tell them I can’t afford to give, they argue with me. When I tell them I don’t support their organization, they argue with me. When I tell them I’m on the national do not call registry, they argue with me.

“I’ve been out of work for almost two years. I’ve put out at least 1,000 resumes and personally gone for 100 or more job openings, (along with 500 or more people each time). Do I get any telephone calls or letter from those people? No, all I get is people looking for money I do not have.

“My God, one day I got a call from the Republican National Committee and when I hung up the phone, Nancy Pelosi’s office was calling me.

“Don’t you understand how low I feel? I’m about to lose my house and my car. My savings and retirement are all gone. My wife walked out on me and took the kids. And now these money hungry idiots come along and belittle me and argue with me because I can’t kick in 'Just $25?'

“How dare you! Who in the hell do you think you are, you pious holier-than-thou vermin who have never missed a meal in your God damned lives?”

I totally understand.

BLAGOJEVICH VERDICT SYMPTOMATIC OF WHAT AILS AMERICA

Rod Blagojevich, the charismatic former Governor of Illinois, was found guilty of one count out of 24 pending against him by a Federal Jury yesterday; 23 ended up in a mistrial due to hung jury. Prosecutors were quick to vow that they will immediately seek a new trial on the remaining counts.

When you look back at the foul language, the forlorn cries of “What’s in it for me” and much of the other testimony that was revealed to the public, one’s first reaction might just be, “That’s Chicago-style politics.” But, I think it is more than that. I think it is an example of the decline of our morals and ethics in this country and I further think that such decline is directly responsible for the situation in which this country now finds itself.

“It’s of the “everything for me and screw everyone else” mentality. People of this culture tend to be smooth talkers who are of the opinion that he world owes them something. When you become that narcissistic, to the extent that you believe the world revolves around you, ethics and moral principles must inevitably take a back seat. In the evolution of things, it would seem to me that anarchy is the next step. We’re close to that now.

Those in places of high power who ignore the will of the people are of this mindset. They are so wrapped up in themselves that everyone else ceases to exist. And, as this mindset has permeated all facets of life in our country, we have lost work ethics, a strong sense of what is right and what is wrong, and we’ve had a basic decay of our society.

There was a day in my lifetime when this behavior was unacceptable. Things in this country were much better in those days. We looked up to politicians, we had much less crime and our country was not heading for international bankruptcy. We had ethics and morals and when people violated them, there was hell to pay. According to those rules, at least half of Congress would be out of a job today, and so would the President.

We simply have to get back to the basics of living by good and fundamental values. We need to instill those values in our children and we need to demand that they be followed. Otherwise, America will just keep on sinking into the abyss and we will be to blame.

REPUBLICANS HAVE RUDE AWAKENING COMING

SPECIAL POST

I’ve been called so many times by representatives of the Republican National Committee asking for donations lately that I’ve worn a hole in into the earpiece of my telephone. What’s really interesting is their reaction when I tell them that, “No, I’m definitely NOT contributing to the Republican National Committee this year. My money is going directly to the candidates.”

The argument comes from some that the Committee can’t provide background support to the candidates without funding. Others try to tell me that the bulk of candidate funding comes from the Committee. Recently, a lady proceeded to argue with me as to how I should donate my money and tried to denigrate me as a member of the Republican Party by saying that I’m not supporting the Republican Party unless I give to the Committee.

She hit the nail on the head. She needs to take the message and deliver it to the top. But, the top is not listening. The top still thinks that, when we vote for Republicans this fall, we will be subscribing to the ideals of the Party. They think it will be THEIR mandate.

They’re as dense as a San Fernando Valley fog.

The only reason we are going to be voting for Republican candidates this fall in many instance is because they are the lesser of two evils. We’re going to have to go through this cycle a few times until we get all of the politicians out who seem to think that we owe them something. There is no evidence that the National Committee has come to grips with the fact that they and their thinking are just as guilty for the problems this country faces today as are the Democrats and, indeed, the left-wing radicals as well. Further, there’s no sign that the National Committee is sincerely willing to change its ways.

If the Republican Party doesn’t step up to the plate by November, it likely will be one of three major political parties in the 2012 elections, because the Tea Party will most certainly morph into a political party of its own if substantial corrections are not made on the landscape in 2010.

In the meantime, you had Republicans spending Party money on lap dances in Los Angeles. There have been many other examples of flagrant abuse of the membership funds and support. But, there have been no changes at the top. That’s why MY money and MY support are going directly to the candidates.

This is the last stand.  If they don't wake up, they'll be the ones to blame.  If the candidates violate my trust and my donations this time around, my money and support will be going to the Tea Party next time around.

LEFT-WING IMPOSTERS TRY TO CRASH TEA PARTIES

SPECIAL POST

The radical left-wing has taken to gutter politics again. This time, they are putting up candidates of their own and then trying to claim that the candidates are really Tea Party members, when local Tea Partiers have never heard of them. This is a flagrant attempt to divide the Tea Parties against themselves and, hopefully, to split the Republican votes as well. "It's obvious it's a Democratic play," said Jason Gillman, a Tea Party activist from Traverse City, MI.

In Michigan, state Republicans and Tea Party activists are currently trying to invalidate at least some of the candidates running under the Tea Party name. In Nevada, a judge in April ruled that Senate candidate Scott Ashjian could run under the Tea Party name despite claims that he was an imposter. Earlier this year, Republican candidate Danny Tarkanian told FoxNews.com that "nobody" in the local Tea Party movement knew who he was and that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's supporters may have entered Ashjian into the race to help Reid.

These activities are happening in several states. Moreover, there are also allegations that left-wingers are attending some Tea Party meetings and creating disturbances in public, bringing disfavor and criticism on legitimate Tea Party members.

These activities are totally against the basic fundamental principles of a democracy. The fact that the Democratic Party is turning a blind eye to them underscores its complicity. Obviously, these liberals have no real arguments to substantiate their positions and have to resort to under-handed and unethical actions in order to try and force their agendas on the rest of us. They and their cohorts are to blame for most of the problems facing the country today; they need to be shouted down and removed from the light of day.

WHO IS TO BLAME FOR NATIONAL SECURITY LEAKS?

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a dozen times. My stance on the WikiLeaks case has been and still is: What’s all of the fuss about? The President of the United States, Barack Hussein Obama, released Top Secret CIA documents shortly after he took office and he did it against the advice of his CIA Director, past Directors and the general public.

So, you know where I stand on that issue.

Still, the idiots in Washington and in the media want to make a big deal out of it. They want WikiLeaks and its owner to spend the rest of his life in purgatory for releasing these national secrets. Well, let’s examine some issues here. To start off with, where did he get his materials? Allegedly, he got them from a low-level enlisted guy. I don’t even know that the Marine had a Top Secret clearance himself; I doubt it, because not everyone in the military gets one. I had one, and I was one of a handful on a very large Air Force Base.

With all of the documents being released, I have to think there are at least one or two more sources. If not, why was this one enlisted guy entrusted with access to all of those documents? Historically, the rules of security around areas where Top Secret documents are manufactured and stored is so intense that it boggles my mind that these documents ever saw the light of day. Obviously, whoever was in charge of security in the location(s) where these documents were kept did not do his job.

But, it goes further. There are supposed to be routine tests of the security in place to determine whether or not the system and the people involved are safeguarding our national secrets according to the established policies and procedures. Any breach is promptly reported all of the way up the chain of command and there are thorough follow-up investigations. If those security tests were not being conducted, why not? And, it’s obvious that it went on for a lengthy period of time and would not have been discovered had it not been for the documents’ release on the WikiLeaks site.

These guys are in charge of our national security. Our national security has been falling apart ever since our President saw fit to turn the subject matter into a political tool. The whole scenario is a horrible joke on the American public. The chickens are out of the coop and the ultimate blame lies with the Commander in Chief.

FOR TIME IMMEMORIAL, POLITICS HAS BEEN DIRTY; IT’S TIME TO CLEAN IT UP

SPECIAL POST

My fellow Americans, it is a tragedy that we have put ourselves into the position where no worthy man or woman wants to run for public office because, in order to do so, they must be willing to lay down their honorable upbringings and principles and to join the politics of the dirty. We, the citizens of the world, bear the responsibility for allowing politics to be dirty. We are to blame; it’s our fault.

The blame lies with us because we have tolerated it and we are complicit and partners in it because we have turned our backs away from it, rather than faced it head on and removed it from our system. Running for public office in this country should not only be a privilege, it should be an honor and there should be no more honorable a profession than to serve in public office.

We see it in the halls of Washington every day, but it also exists in our states, counties and local governments. We see it in Bell, California, where city officials were paying themselves outlandish salaries and benefits. We see it in Illinois where a governor conspired to obtain political and monetary favors in exchange for naming a President’s favored candidate to fill his unexpired term. We see it in Massachusetts, where a United States Senator who advocates high taxes moves his boat to another state where there are no taxes. We see it in the courts, where an openly gay judge agrees to hear a case regarding gay marriage. We even see it in the press, of all places, where journalists turn their backs on their duties to their fellow countrymen and write stories and news that curry favor with political insiders. Yes, it is tolerated and even expected.

I submit to you that any person at any level of public responsibility who does not hold himself or herself up to the highest standards of morals and ethics should be removed and disgraced.

My God, does it not anger you that there are people running for various offices in this country right now, after all we have been through, who have tarnished personal and political reputations? Doesn’t it anger you more that we are faced with the problem that their opponents are just as tarnished as they are?

Why? Why have we allowed ourselves to evolve into the level of complacency in this country that we can just pass it off as being “politics is dirty” and to buy into the proposition? Why?

Do we have the guts and the fortitude to stand up to the dirty politicians and say, loudly and clearly… “Enough is enough, get the hell out?”

Until we do, no decent worthwhile man or woman is going to want to run for office. They may have all created this mess, those dirty toileticians but, the day has arrived when we must clean it up.

Get out and vote.

IRAN POSES IMMINENT THREAT TO WORLD PEACE

That’s a mouthful. That’s scary. How can that be?

You and I both know that our government never tells us the truth about such things. If we were to find out today that Iran had produced enough nuclear material to make two bombs, for example, we would be safe to assume that Iran had that nuclear material a year ago and our government knew it. It just came out today, but it happened a year ago. Agreed?

Well, Leon Panetta said on June 27, 2010, that Iran has enough nuclear material to make two bombs. He also said that he felt that Iran could actually produce those bombs within two years. The question is: how far are they really away from having two nuclear bombs? I say that two years is a lie. Will we awaken tomorrow to find out that they already have those two nukes? Wait a minute. If Panetta is saying two, is it actually four or six or ten?

Even nearby nations, normally antagonistic to the United States and sympathetic to Iran, are now concerned. Here’s something more to consider: We know and accept that Iran wants to nuke Israel and most of those countries would be happy to see it happen. But, after Israel, what then?

Iran has had its eyes focused on Iraq for years, even centuries. Being a radical Islamic country, why stop with Israel or Iraq? Egypt has been friends with us, off and on; certainly, they must be a target. Turkey, for sure. Actually, it doesn’t take much imagination to see Iran going after the entire Middle East.

Who would stop them? China? Russia? France?

Iran is another World War II Germany in the making. The United States, fully cognizant of the danger, has been pussy-footing around with Iran for at least five years. This waltz has always been with Iran at the lead. We would like to think we are putting heat on Iran, but they know and we know in our hearts that all we have been doing is drawing lines in the sand and continuously backing up, hissing and pissing in the wind and then drawing new lines.

The only thing that has been accomplished in the last five years, for example, is that Iran is now five years closer to having their nukes. That’s all; nothing else has transpired.

LONDON, (AP January 1, 2012) Two nuclear weapons were detonated in Israel this morning, one in Tel-Aviv and one in Hebron. There has been no word from Israeli authorities as to the extent of damages or loss of lives. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad issued a statement in Tehran claiming victory for Iran and Islam.

We know the day is coming, and soon. Do we, by our passionate display of weakness, want to be to blame for this?
