Who makes the laws? Who doesn't provide enough money to enforce the laws?
The American Legion has a five-point program to deal with the situation:
(1) Secure the borders and coastline points of entry; All Congress has ever had to do was to adequately fund the Border Patrol and Coast Guard.
(2) Remove the jobs magnet by imposing and enforcing heavy employer sanctions; Cut the crap and quit cow-towing to big business interests
(3) Eliminate most social service benefits for illegal immigrants; Quitcher whining, if they are here illegally the only thing they are really entitled to from us is a cold jail cell.
(4) Attrition through enforcement; Any illegal caught in the country must be dealt with swiftly
(5) Effective screening and tracking of ALL foreign visitors to the United States; and giving everyone a national I.D. chip implant is NOT the answer
Congress created this problem by refusing to deal with it. If they refuse to deal with it, then I vote that we abolish our Constitution and our system of government and that we enter the golden era of anarchy.
The plain fact is that OUR CONGRESS HAS SPENT MORE TIME DEALING WITH THE SPOTTED OWL THAN THEY HAVE WITH ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION!
