OnStar.... Another Federal Boodoggle
OnStar service relies on analog cellular technology that cannot be readily replaced in the tens of thousands of U.S. cars whose manufacturers have been touting the gimmick for several years. The FCC is ordering analog cell service to shut down early in 2008, which means that the OnStar Service is going bye-bye.
There's such a law as truth in advertising. The auto firms ballyhooing OnStar in order to boost car sales never mentioned the forthcoming demise.
Whose job is it to enforce truth in advertising laws on the airwaves? The FCC, of course.
I'll bet that fact never hits the airwaves, because the FCC will insist they're not to blame.

US Military Desertion Rate Goes Up In Iraq
We sent them there to win, then the politicians put restrictions on what they can and cannot do. We didn't provide them with the right equipment to do the job. We extended their tours and made them double back. Then, we pounded them with threats of withdrawing their funding, making them pull out without victory, and demonstrations on American streets calling them rotten names.
Now, with troops deserting, I'm sure Washington will want to hang those guys. Washington should be ashamed of itself. THEY are the ones to blame.

Signs
When we become oblivious to signs that things are changing, numb to the pain that changes might bring, and cavalier enough to pretend that we are superior and therefore invulnerable, we stand in the shadow of darkness.
I do not believe that there is a single one of us who is happy with the world as it is, or the place in which we individually find ourselves today. All of us want for more. It is only in the things that we want that we differ. Regardless of these surmises, all we have to seek is the knowledge that the world and the basics of our existence are changing; we need to analyze how these changes are going to affect us today and our children in the future.
Some change is subtle. Nevertheless, all change is discernible if properly examined.
Global warming is no longer fiction; the facts seem to indicate that we are on a collision course with human disaster. And, although I'll be called a lunatic for saying so, visits from extraterrestials have been too numerously recorded to be ignored; they portend some inevitable change to our lives and very existence.
There are countless other signs of daily change that we ignore or fail to see.

How COULD We Be To Blame? We All Have Alzheimers!
Just a quick refresher course lest we forget what has happened to many"friends" of the Clintons.
1-James McDougal - Clinton's convicted Whitewater partner died of an apparent heart attack, while in solitary confinement. He was a keywitness in Ken Starr's investigation.
2 -Mary Mahoney - A former White House intern was murdered July 1997at a Starbucks Coffee Shop in Georgetown. The murder happened just after she was to go public with her story of sexual harassment in the White House.
3- Vince Foster - Former White House counselor and colleague of Hillary Clinton at Little Rock's Rose Law firm. Died of a gunshot wound to the head, ruled a suicide.
4- Ron Brown - Secretary of Commerce and former DNC Chairman. Reported to have died by impact in a plane crash. A pathologist close to the investigation reported that there was a hole in the top of Brown's skull resembling a gunshot wound. At the time of his death Brown was being investigated and spoke publicly of his willingness to cut a deal with prosecutors. Brown's body was ordered cremated before an autopsy could be completed. The rest of the people on the plane also died. A few days later the air Traffic controller committed suicide.
5- C. Victor Raiser II- Raiser, a major player in the Clinton fundraising organization died in a private plane crash in July 1992
6-Paul Tulley - Democratic National Committee Political Director found dead in a hotel room in Little Rock , September 1992. Described byClinton as a "Dear friend and trusted advisor".
7-Ed Willey - Clinton fund raiser, found dead November 1993 deep in the woods in VA of a gunshot wound to the head. Ruled a suicide. Ed Willey died on the same day his wife Kathleen Willey claimed Bill Clinton groped her in the oval office in the White House. Ed Willey was involved in several Clinton fund raising events.
8- Jerry Parks -Head of Clinton's gubernatorial security team in Little Rock was gunned down in his car at a deserted intersection outside Little Rock. Park's son said his father was building a dossier on Clinton. He allegedly threatened to reveal his information. After he died the files were mysteriously removed from his house.
9-James Bunch - Died from a gunshot suicide. It was reported that he had a "Black Book" of people which contained names of influential people who visited prostitutes in Texas and Arkansas.

Kathy Ferguson was a possible corroborating witness for Paula Jones.
12-Bill Shelton - Arkansas State Trooper and fiance of KathyFerguson. Critical of the suicide ruling about his fiance, he was found dead in June 1994 of a gunshot wound also ruled a suicide at the grave site of his fiance.
13-Gandy Baugh - Attorney for Clinton's friend Dan Lassater, died by jumping out a window of a tall building January 1994. His client was a convicted drug distributor.
14-Florence Martin - Accountant & sub-contractor for the CIA, he was related to the Barry Seal Mena Airport drug smuggling case. He died of three gunshot wounds.
15- Suzanne Coleman - Reportedly had an affair with Clinton when he was Arkansas Attorney General. Died of a gunshot wound to the back of the head, ruled a suicide. Was pregnant at the time of her death.

THE CLINTONS AGAIN: Are We Really Ready For This?
She's not even been officially elected yet and it has already started. First, it was the Hsu thing with the $850,000 in illegal campaign contributions that she says she is going to return. Has she?
Then, it was sneaking Sandy Berger into her campaign management. Remember good-old-boy Sandy, the former National Security Advisor for Billy who got caught stealing documents after Bush took office?
Now, it comes out that Hillary listened to secretly recorded cell-phone conversations involving political enemies. As recently as August, Clinton was advocating for the rights of people to sue if their phone conversations are illegally intercepted.
I often wondered if any of Billy's misfeasances and malfeasances were deliberately manufactured in order to cover up dirtier deeds. Not that it matters. What DOES matter is that the political stars have already lined up enough for us to forecast that it's going to be eight more years of the same old tripe.
Do I sound as if her election is a "done deal?" What makes you think it isn't? As it stands today, on this day.... There's no one in the race, Democrat or Republican, who can stop her. Unless she stumbles, and her well-organized team is not likely to let that happen, it IS a done deal. And, I'll guarantee you.... within 30 days of her coronation, you and 90% of the rest of this country are going to be insisting that you never voted for her.... the same percentage 30 days after Billy's inauguration.

America Deserves Eight More Years of Political Suicide
For eight years, we endured the endless scandals, twists and turns of the Clintons. We were enthralled and breathless as story after story unfolded on the front pages of Time, Newsweek, and the Washington Post, retold with salacious and exciting detail on the evening news. Whitewater, Rose Law Firm, Presidential dalliances, Chinese political donations, accusations of murder, and stained dresses. Remember..... Most people don't, for one reason or another... the big sigh of relief this nation felt when the inventor of the word "is" moved out of the White House, flavored cigars and all?
How dull it has been for these last eight years. Oh, Bush mismanaged the nation's economy at the start, but 9/11 bailed him out of his lackadaisical leadership record. Then, he badly bungled Iraq... But there were no really gut wrenching, eyes-glued-to-the-TV stories during Bush's terms, such as those provided by the Clintons.
So, why would it not be a natural to forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater mistakes of the future? Let's get Hillary and Bill and Chelsea and Monica and the gang back at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Make my predicitions of ten years ago come true. And, let's get our attention back off international relations and back on the next story to unfold, as well as the question of whether or not Monica really intends to wear that famous dress to the inaugural ball?
My God, don't you really wish you lived in France?

US Government Is REACTIVE, Not Proactive
Our government is failing us in its inherent responsibility to prevent harm to its citizens. The recent collapse of the bridge in Minneapolis was a horrible tragedy. We can only guess, given the fact that this "structurally deficient" bridge was one of thousands so labelled and not under repair, what more horrible tragedies are imminent.
Only after 911 did we take a serious look at airline and airport security. Only after Katrina did we take a close look inside our government to determine that FEMA management was in horrible shape.
There is so much wasteful spending, yet we are not spending money to perform preventive maintenance on our own systems and procedures. Our national infrastructure is falling apart. Laws are outdated and often conflicting. There are countless details in protecting our citizens that go unattended on a daily basis that it is totally amazing we have not had more and larger disasters.
Of course, illegal immigration is another impending disaster that our government seems content to ignore.
Since Congress and our President only address problems AFTER a disaster, maybe we should quit paying them until and unless another disaster happens?

ILLEGAL ALIENS: Congress IS to Blame
Who makes the laws? Who doesn't provide enough money to enforce the laws?
The American Legion has a five-point program to deal with the situation:
(1) Secure the borders and coastline points of entry; All Congress has ever had to do was to adequately fund the Border Patrol and Coast Guard.
(2) Remove the jobs magnet by imposing and enforcing heavy employer sanctions; Cut the crap and quit cow-towing to big business interests
(3) Eliminate most social service benefits for illegal immigrants; Quitcher whining, if they are here illegally the only thing they are really entitled to from us is a cold jail cell.
(4) Attrition through enforcement; Any illegal caught in the country must be dealt with swiftly
(5) Effective screening and tracking of ALL foreign visitors to the United States; and giving everyone a national I.D. chip implant is NOT the answer
Congress created this problem by refusing to deal with it. If they refuse to deal with it, then I vote that we abolish our Constitution and our system of government and that we enter the golden era of anarchy.
The plain fact is that OUR CONGRESS HAS SPENT MORE TIME DEALING WITH THE SPOTTED OWL THAN THEY HAVE WITH ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION!

He DIDN'T Do It!
Well, technically, he may have done it. But, he was rejected by two women. He'd been interviewed by police a year or so earlier for suicidal tendencies, and let loose. His roomates noticed that he was acting peculiar, but they didn't do anything about it.
Somehow, inspite of his past interviews by police, he got his hands on two semi-automatic pistols, piles of ammo, and several ammo clips.
So, technically, maybe he did it. But, the real people responsible were the two women, the police, his roomates, and the gun salesman. Since all of those Virginia Tech people died..... The REAL responsible people should be executed for their part in the crime. After all, when you get right down to it... He was NOT to blame. They were.

Let the Iranians dehead them. It's not our fault and, besides, we need to have some nice friendly dialogue and with the Iranians to ask them, politely, to stop supporting the insurgents in Iraq. Maybe over tea?

Lake Davis Pike Eradication
They'll never learn and they belong in jail. For seemingly countless years, the California Department of Fish and Game has been insisting that they have the right answers to eradicate the predatory, non-native Northern Pike from pristine Lake Davis north of Portola.
In 1997, CDF&G poisoned the lake, promising the nearby commnunity that it would be harmless to their water supply. The theory was that they could restock the lake with more desirable trout after the poisoning. The drinking water, however, became so tainted that they had to brong in bottled water for months, and the local economy almost totally dried up.
The hated Northern Pike, however, survived.
Now, CDF&G is at it again. This time, they're careful not to talk about several prior attempts to get rid of the pike, and they're again promising that the drinking water supply will be fine. "It's imperative this eradication project quickly moves forward."
Imperative. Emergency. Safe.

'ts Not Our Fault That We Have Bad Management Again!
It's THEIR fault, those guys who didn't vote, that we have poor representatives in Washington again.
That's correct! If the people who didn't vote had voted, the outcomes could have been different!
