I have to say that Detroit and their unions and suppliers do deserve a lot of blame. But, the real blame belongs with Barney Frank.
Frank's committee, the House Financial Services Oversight Committee, not only allowed the housing and financial crisis to happen, they encouraged it! You and I both know that to be true. And, when the FreddieMac FannieMae walls came tumbling down, that precipitated our current American financial crisis as well as that of the rest of the world. And there he still sits, chairing that great omnipotent committee, and looking down his spectacular nose in pious condescension while telling us we have to pony up more money, more money, more money.
Well, Mr. & Mrs. America, what are you going to do about it?
