New York City's Mayor Bill de Blasio made it clear from day one that he doesn't like New York Cops. He has chastised, criticized, undermined and threatened them since even before he officially took office.
Over last weekend, two of New York's finest were shot and almost killed. Evidently, the police have had enough: “Mayor De Blasio, the members of the NYPD are declaring war on you!” the Sergeants Benevolent Association
wrote in a tweet. “We do not respect you, DO NOT visit us in hospitals.
You sold the NYPD to the vile creatures, the 1% who hate cops but vote
for you. NYPD cops have been assassinated because of you! This isn’t over; game on!”
The Mayor's office responded ominously Monday by exclaiming that the officers swore an oath to serve and protect and that they had damned well better do it... or else.
