Pontificating, pious Elijah Cummings and his wife Maya Rockeymoore Cummings are in trouble with the law. Maya has a non-profit organization called the "Center for Global Policy Solutions," which has allegedly received
millions of dollars from various interest groups which have business before
the House Oversight and Reform Committee... chaired by good old Elijah.
Maya, who is also chair of the Maryland Democratic
Party, has refused to turn over records on the nonprofit that have been
requested by the watchdog group "The National Legal and Policy Center," as well as various news organizations. The refusal happens to be against the law: in order to secure a tax exemption, the law requires that information
about operations be publicly disclosed by the nonprofits. And while
refusing to turn over the forms, Maya has also claimed that the
allegations about the potential conflict of interest are just attempts
to silence her and her husband who is involved in inquiries into the
Trump administration and the president’s financial records.
As for Elijah, he calls it a "fabricated distraction."
Is there any corner, crack or crevice in Washington that is not corrupt?
