That's the profound statement made when he Vietnam Veterans Memorial Plaza in Rockville, Maryland elected to lower the POW/MIA flag for a month and to replace it with the pride flag. Montgomery County Council member Evan Glass, the council's first LGBTQ
member, proudly helped celebrate the raising of the pride flag.
Well, there were a helluva lot of citizens and veterans who were, bluntly, pissed off. So, County Executive Mark Elrich aranged to have the flag pole altered so they could fly both flags... the POW/MIA and the pride flag. If you don't like it, that's just too damned bad.
From where I stand, there are only two flags that should fly at a veterans memorial: The American Flag and the POW/MIA flag. Anything else is a downright insult to MY service to my country. The next thing we know, they'll be flying the Nazi flag there.
