The first openly overt move was to ask citizens to report those who might have "misinformation" on their blogs and websites to the White House. The President promised to investigate the potential offenders and to take steps to straighten them out.
If that doesn’t sound like censorship, what does?
The next move was to collect data…email addresses, ostensibly to be able to send innocuous emails from the White House to “friends,” keeping them advised of current Administration plans, news and events. Somehow, (no one is fessing up), that list was permeated with names and email addresses of people who disagree with Administration policies and procedures. Spokesmen eventually claimed that the names may have been input by someone with access to lists of people who had contacted conservative or Republican websites… without White House knowledge. In other words, they insist, they had nothing to do with it. That's the classic "Who, ME?" syndrome.
If the list was intended to be a list of “friends,” why would Axelrod be compelled to write an email to the people on that list treating them as being misinformed on the President’s Health Care Plan, and trying to sway their support? In other words, how did they surmise that the recipients of their email would actually be those who disagree with the President if, in fact, they did not know that the email list contained the names and email addresses of such enemies in the first place? The nail in this argument comes from the fact that no "friend" has yet come forward to say that he or she received one of those emails. Get the picture?
So, it’s another in a long litany of lies and mistruths coming from the Obama Camp that we un-American, evil-doing, swastika-carrying obstructionist citizens are supposed to accept? “Shut up and get out of the way?”
What could be the next step in this endless attack on our rights to speak out and question? Gulags? According to WIKIPEDIA: “Gulag: A History, by Anne Applebaum, [explains]: "It was the branch of the State Security that operated the penal system of forced labour camps and associated detention and transit camps and prisons. While these camps housed criminals of all types, the Gulag system has become primarily known as a place for political prisoners and as a mechanism for repressing political opposition to the Soviet state. Though it imprisoned millions, the name became familiar in the West only with the publication of Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn's 1973 The Gulag Archipelago, which likened the scattered camps to "a chain of islands."
“There were at least 476 separate camps, some of them comprising hundreds, even thousands of camp units. The most infamous complexes were those at arctic or subarctic regions. Today's major industrial cities of the Russian Arctic such as Norilsk, Vorkuta, Kolyma and Magadan, were camps originally built by prisoners and run by ex-prisoners.”
I include the above because you may not know the history of gulags; those who have not studied history are bound to repeat it. Yeah, I know…. Your response what be to suggest that such a possibility is too absurd to be within the realm of possibility. That’s what the Russian citizens said, and that’s what the German citizens said. And here we have the President and his most ardent supporters insisting that you do not have the right to attend a Town Hall meeting unless you agree to “Shut up and get out of the way.”
The plain fact is, the Administration has put together an enormous and slick propaganda machine. It enlists the ACORNS of the world to do its bidding. It stifles free speech and seeks to take away our basic rights and liberties, such as the right to determine our own health choices. It lies to and misleads the American people. It allows members of the Black Panther Party to intimidate people at the polls and then dismisses the charges against them, even after they are found guilty.
Wake up, America! These actions are totally against every thing this nation was founded on and used to stand for. Wake up before it’s too damned late! It’s not going to be very much longer before we won’t even have our Bibles and guns to cling on to!
