The White House came out yesterday and announced that the recession is over. To my recollection, this is about the third time that the White House has been out trumpeting non-existent success. What we can expect next, as has happened more than dozens of times in this administration, is that in some obscure newspaper in some obscure town on a Saturday morning, you’ll find on page 19 of the local newspaper a one paragraph statement saying that, alas, they made a mistake, the recession hadn’t ended.
I’m sorry to say this about the President of the United States, but the guy is a liar. He is a liar, his administration is a liar, Pelosi is a liar, and Reid doesn’t tell the truth. Virtually every “fact” and “figure” that has been released by these stalwarts of American government has been an outright lie. Think about it. Obama is a two-bit pathological liar and the rest of them are blindly following in the “wanna be” mode. The approval rating of Congress, the last I heard, was down into the teens. Obama, Reid and Pelosi are running around saying what a great job Congress does. What does that tell you?
This total lack of ethics and veracity at the pinnacle of our government has to be destroyed. It’s infecting our government employees, our state legislatures, our local governments, our education system and now, our homes; children come home from school every day with some of the most outrageous excuses for misbehavior that we have ever heard. Poor Lindsay Lohan, she just couldn’t help herself; maybe the caffeine in her lunch drinks did her in. Paris Hilton’s grandfather, believe it or not, ate his cereal without sugar on it and that turned her into a porno star and cocaine addict. Obama’s father left the family when he was young and that gives him the absolute right to lie.
The day is at hand, my friends, when we need to get back to the basics of being parents, children, employees, and Americans. A good place to start is in Washington, D.C. By getting rid of the derelicts who are in charge at such a high level, we have the opportunity to install men and women who speak the truth, accept responsibility for their own actions, believe in America’s heritage, and who are willing to listen to what we citizens are thinking.
I do recognize that this is a tall order, but we all know that it has to be done.
I want someone in Washington who, when 70% of the population is against a bill, will vote against it regardless of what the Speaker or the Majority Leader commands. I want someone there who, when a colleague commits a crime or has a severe lack of ethics, will call that person to task and see that he or she pays the penalty for their transgressions. I want someone who will not allow a 2,700 page bill to be created in the first place but, should that happen, will refuse to vote on it until they have read it.
You know how long this list could be, were I to list the multitudes and multitudes of things this Administration has succeeded in perpetrating against us. It really serves no purpose, other than historical, to list them here. It doesn’t do us any real good to lay out the blame, especially when we by our complacence must share some of that blame. What does matter is that we are virtually at the eve of having the opportunity to do something about it.
The primaries are behind us and now we face the general election. We have done an excellent job of ferreting out some of the bad guys so far. When we step into the voting booth on November 2nd, we have the opportunity to finish the job. Let us not falter or waver in our purpose. We have a job to do; let’s get it done.
