The latest and growing tactic of the lefties is to tax gun owners until they give up. How about paying an annual tax of $50 per gun you own? I mean... guns cause crime, murders, injuries and mayhem, don't they? Those costs are passed on to society in general through the rising costs of law enforcement and regulatory oversight, so shouldn't gun owners pay an annual tax?
Never mind that the gun crime problem is a social problem, just like violence in general. Never mind that the government has not even begun to address those social ills that plague the nation. The left and the government is not to blame... gun owners are.
In Seattle, they already levy a $25 dollars per firearm tax on guns purchased,
with a nickel tax on ammunition over .22 caliber, and a 2 cent tax on
smaller calibers. In the Northern Marianas Islands, to compensate for losing
their handgun ban in court, their Governor imposed a $1,000 “excise” tax
on the importation of firearms.
These idiots intend to force the Constitutional right to bear arms in this country to a showdown and they don't seem to care that millions and millions of more guns are being purchased by Americans every month. To them, if we are going to exercise our rights, we're going to have to pay for it.
