Kathy Griffin revealed she struggled with pill addiction and thoughts of suicide after receiving backlash for a controversial photo shoot in 2017. She says she is battling stage one lung cancer and laid out the past four years and the spiral her life took after facing immense national backlash when she posed with a bloodied, severed head with the likeness of then-President Donald Trump. Since then, she has said she was glad she did it and retracted an apology she made shortly after the display.
