Immediately after President Trump canceled Nancy Pelosi's government-paid junket plane to Europe on the grounds she needed to stay here and work on the border crisis and the government shutdown, cries from Democrats and establishment Republicans were heard all over Washington D.C.
Early on in the afternoon, Lindsey Graham said: “Speaker Pelosi’s threat to cancel the State of the Union is very
irresponsible and blatantly political. President
Trump denying Speaker Pelosi military travel to visit our troops in
Afghanistan, our allies in Egypt and NATO is also inappropriate.”
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-MD., criticized Trump's maneuver, saying it was "petty," "small" and "vindictive." "It is unbecoming of the president of the United States. But it is unfortunately a daily occurrence," he told reporters.
Well, I've got this to say about that: It's damned well time the Republicans started playing hardball. It's time they learned that what is good for the goose is good for the gander.
