OBAMA BLASTS EUROPEAN UNION

Faced with the reality that his economic stimulus plans have not worked and that his ERA programs have not lessened unemployment, President Barrack Hussein Obama reacted as anyone could easily predict to the news that the members of the European Union are drastically cutting back spending in an effort to avoid financial calamity… by saying that their actions could hurt the U.S. economy. In other words, he’s not accepting responsibility and blame for his own mismanagement; instead, he’s transferring blame to the European Union when, in fact, we should be following their lead and cutting back on spending here at home.

Obama continues to plow ahead speaking, as Native Americans would say, “with forked tongue.” On the one hand, he tells us that the country needs to quit spending and on the other hand he continues to spend our money hand over fist. His administration has refused to account for the TARP money and ERA money that has been allocated and, “let me be clear,” the Republicans have not pursued that question, either. He’s forging ahead with pressure to pass his Cap and Trade legislation and to shove tens of billions of dollars into another economic stimulus.

The Mohegan Sun, a Native American Casino in Connecticut, has received over $54 million in stimulus money at the behest of Senator Charles Dodd. That casino made $1.3 billion in 2009. The Obama Administration has turned a blind eye to this type of blatant misappropriation of taxpayer funds. This is but one example of misspending of ERA and stimulus funds over the past 18 months.

With all of this spending going on, unemployment hangs on at 10.0%, the first-time filings for unemployment benefits soared last week to 472,000, retail sales are down and other ominous signs point to the fact that Obama’s tax and spend agenda has failed the nation in a time of desperate need. Still, instead of listening to the growing clamor of economists who are calling for reduced spending and reduced taxes in order to get small business back into the hiring mode, he blindly continues to go forward to where no successful man has gone before.

He’s not akin to a drunken sailor; rather, he’s like a drunken gambler in a casino, out of money to play with and begging the credit manager for a higher credit limit. And, he’s gambling with the taxpayer’s money and the well-being of our grand children.

Only Congress can rein this drunk in, but Congress has been party to his drunken antics. Even the Republicans, now trying to retreat into a false sense of conservatism, were there at the spending trough in late 2008 to hand over $850 billion to Geithner and Bernanke without restriction. It is apparent that, in order for us to force Congress into cutting Obama’s spending, we need to remove every Member of Congress who is up for re-election.

Obama suggests that the damned European Union is just trying to make him look bad. This is all their fault. It’s time to quit blaming Bush and pick on someone else, and God forbid Obama should ever own up to his own pathological shortcomings.

This is just one more compelling reason for us to stand together, shoulder-to-shoulder and arm-to-arm as we move forward to take back our country.

POSTAGE STAMP UPSIDE DOWN

I begin this post with an ominous thought. Back in the early days of our country, when people were coerced into writing things they did not wish to write but wanted to convey a situation of distress, the practice was to paste the stamp on the envelope upside down. So it is that today, I began pasting my American flag stamps on my mail upside down because we are, most assuredly, a nation in distress. I urge you, too, to follow the practice until we get our country turned back to the correct direction.

Now, as to the President’s speech last night…. It was too little, too late. You get the feeling that they only reason he made it was because the Democrats in Congress are sick and tired of hearing about the oil spill from their constituents. There was nothing new in it. There were no alternatives offered to either fix the problem or clean up the mess; rather, he indicated to me that he wants more money for some other commission to be formed to look into it and resolve it. AND, of course, he wants his Cap & Trade Energy Bill passed and he doesn’t care if we can afford it or not.

That’s basically what I heard. There was nothing new, just the same old shoulder shrugging and finger wagging that I have seen for the last 18 months. His reactions are to point blame and seize assets. Frankly, if I was Tony Hayward with BP, I’d be inclined to tell the President to “buzz off.”

BP is solidly to blame here, and I agree with that. I was one of the first, if not THE first, to wag MY finger and proclaim BP/ARCO as being the villain.  They have misled everyone involved from minute one. As I have said since two or three days after the rig blew, BP’s traditional cost cutting and lack of safety was the direct cause of the disaster. Mark my words, BP will be dragged, kicking and screaming, into many Courts of law before this story is over and people get paid.

One has to wonder why this President didn’t arrange to meet up with Hayward and tour the rig site and Gulf by chopper together, to then sit down with top government and BP officials to have an eyeball-to-eyeball discussion. The "hide behind your Oval Office desk and teleprompters, spewing forth confrontational ass kicking comments routine" is no more likely to draw cooperation and a spirit of urgency than does lying through your teeth and cramming a health care plan down people’s throats that they do not want. 

This was just another day of audacious Presidential pomposity, as far as I’m concerned.

I believe that our President came into office with an agenda to firmly place in action a series of events that would centralize every last drop of power in the White House before the November elections, and he has been distracted from his objective several times. He just can’t bear to turn his back on those objectives and to deal with the more pressing issues of the nation. Every day that goes by where his events don’t kick in as he planned gets him one day closer to November, and that seems to be relentlessly gnawing at him.

The momentum that carried him into office is now eroding. The polls reflect that the pendulum is starting to swing against him. His political capital is now confined to just a handful of Congress; the rest are doing their best to distance themselves from him in such a manner that it doesn’t amount to outright rebellion.

The fact that Obama didn’t even have the courtesy to respond to an offer from Royal Dutch Petroleum, (Shell), made in the beginning days of this disaster to send help speaks volumes about his in ability to function when he is not in control of his own diabolical agenda.

Yes, a second oil leak has been hiding from Americans since at least April 30 and, as this post is being written, those involved are still stonewalling the news. Recent satellite photos show oil around the Ocean Saratoga Rig, operated by Diamond Offshore for Taylor Energy. Taylor has reportedly instructed Diamond Offshore to “plug and abandon” the well. The rig was damaged by a hurricane in 2004 and Diamond Offshore was told in 2009 to plug the well according to “sources.” This would seem to indicate that the well could have been leaking for over a year and Taylor Energy is not talking.

In the meanwhile, it has been discovered that pools of oil are gathering underseas at about 3,400 feet and this discovery leads to the probability that marine life will ultimately be extensively damaged. It appears that BP has known of this for “some time” but did not disclose the fact until they were recently asked in a press conference about the possibility.

President Obama, now faced with a multitude of festering problems which include Middle East tensions in and around Israel as well as belligerent rhetoric from North Korea and Iran, has decided to take to the road and try to gain support for his cram down health care bill.

Don’t you just wonder who in the hell is running this country while Obama ignores these issues?

BP/ARCO HAS NO ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY

Anyone who thinks that BP is getting unfairly criticized for the Gulf Oil disaster has not done their homework. Anyone who thinks that BP is the shining star of environmental and safety track records needs to take an hour or two and start digging around on the internet. Anyone who wants to come to the defense of BP/ARCO is either insane or an attorney looking to get rich. Eric Holder is definitely not the first government official to threaten a criminal investigation into BP/ARCO’s activities. 

So, why doesn’t BP straighten up its insolent corporate act? Because, historically speaking, BP has made more money by operating the way it does. With the hundreds of billions of dollars of operations they have around the world, they have figured it out that they can shave corners and cuts costs in all of them and, should anything bad happen in one of them they will have saved far more than enough to cover the costs, fines and legal fees involved. 

In Yerington, Nevada, its shuttered Yerington Anaconda Copper Mine is an environmental disaster that is polluting ground water with uranium and chemicals. For almost ten years, BP has stalled, stalled and stalled on the cleanup of the site. Many unilateral orders of consent have been issued by the EPA to prod BP into accomplishing what little it has accomplished so far. But, the magnitude of the problem continues to grow day by day.

I heard the argument that, if we boycott BP/ARCO at the pumps, we could drive them out of business and then we, the taxpayers, would be left holding the bag for the cleanup costs in the Gulf. That’s very naïve. The plain simple fact of the matter is that BP/ARCO is not going to go bankrupt. It has dozens of operating divisions and can sever any one of them at any time, including U.S. operations, and never look back. They have associations and operations all over the world including Iran. 

We’re going to end up paying through the nose for this disaster anyway. They will fight in court every step of the way, and we’ll be stuck with the legal fees. Historically, you will see them fighting until some Court hits them with $500 million here and there and then they’ll threaten to appeal and offer to settle out of court for $100 million and they’ll get away with it. If they’ve spent $1 billion in the Gulf already on this cleanup, that is 1/25th of the money they make every year. That $1 billion will get written off against tax liabilities and we are going to therefore be stuck for it anyway. 

We would like to proclaim that we are not to blame for the way BP does business, but we are. We allow their cavalier attitude toward safety and the environment to continue; our courts and agencies let them off the hook much too easily, and we continue to buy their gas although they have been in trouble in several states for their pricing strategies.

As for me, I’ll be damned if I’ll buy one ounce of their gas; I’ll walk first.

WE'RE NOT TO BLAME

So, let's rid ourselves of the ones who are!

WE ARE NOT EQUAL

Contrary to what President Obama would have you believe, we are not equal. We may be created equal, but that is the end of that. Some people go to college, some drop out of high school; some become doctors or lawyers, some work on oil rigs; some encounter extensive health problems, others live to old age and die healthy. We could create an endless list of individual differences we acquire in life that make us “not equal.”

Some people end up being extensively wealthy and others end up without two coins to rub together. Our President would have us subscribe to his Socialist-Marxist ideology that says we must take from the rich and give to the poor until everyone is back to being equal. If he wants everyone to go back to being equal, we must return to our days of nativity; there will be no doctors, lawyers, oil workers, cops, or Presidents, for that matter. We will all do the same thing in life, whatever that might be, and we will acquire the same levels of wealth. If I have $10,000 in the bank, so will you and Obama. We will all wear the same khaki uniforms and march to the same drummers. We will have a universal state religion and all others will be banned.

Those are the objectives of the “social justice” and “economic justice” programs current being thrust upon us. Everything this administration is engaged in is focused on making us all equal in every respect.

How ludicrous can you get?

What they really mean to say, when they tell us about “equal social justice” and “equal economic justice” is that they have total control over every aspect of our lives and we have no control over any aspect. Anyone who tries to break that mold must be eliminated. Glenn Beck must be eliminated. I must be eliminated. Millions of Americans must be eliminated. You have three choices: (1) go along with the program, (2) leave the country, or (3) be eliminated. There are no other alternatives unless… you are willing to stand united, stand together shoulder-to-shoulder, arm-to-arm and deny them their objectives at every turn. Stop them in their tracks.

We are a nation of God-fearing people. We live according to religious teachings that are morally and ethically sound. These teachings are contrary to their objectives. They believe they have the rights to lie, cheat, steal, plunder and rape. In order to accomplish their objectives, one of the things they must do is to marginalize or take over religions. Nancy Pelosi, making no bones about it, recently started to tell religions what to preach and how to preach it. Obama operatives are already in contact with various religious leaders peddling their influence and exerting their “authorities.” You will soon be hearing about “equal social justice” and “equal economic justice” as being teachings of Christ or God; nowhere in any religious scriptures is there a call for total equality, because that cannot be achieved and it contrary to the spirit of man.

Obama and his henchmen may try and tell us that we need to be equal, but we need to rise up and rid ourselves of these demons in our midst. Judging by the polls and by the elections so far, we’re off to a good start. Let’s hope and pray that we still have the right to vote in this country in November; I’ll guarantee you that Obama has been reading the Hugo Chavez strategy on how to ignore a constitutional requirement for elections.

On the other hand, if we succeed in forcing them out and if we regain control of our country, is there going to be any money left to run it with? Don't blame me, I just posed the question. 

WHITE HOUSE LAUNCHES OFFENSIVE AGAINST FREEDOM OF THE PRESS

The White House is engaging in a highly sophisticated control of the press.  Attempts by a President to prevent negative news stories from getting published are not unprecedented.  However, this far-reaching control of the President's message transcends all boundaries and appears to firmly place the stamp of Marxism on the White House agenda.  White House aids have all but shut out the Press Corps from any meaningful dialogue; when the Press Corps has its daily briefings, they consist of dancing, dodging and ducking any questions of substance.  The White House has banned any...any and all contact by the press with Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan; an internal White House staffer did ask her some mundane questions and the interview was released in the trappings of authentic journalism.  


There is growing evidence that White House "operatives" have been surfing the Internet and systematically scrubbing any and all material which contains any historical information regarding Obama's past associations or relative to current Czars and other close advisers.  At the same time, the White House has apparently launched an offensive against all advertisers on the Glenn Beck Show, warning that their continued advertising will result in serious and dire consequences. 


One needs to consider these events in the full context of what other actions have been taken by the Administration since Obama took office.  When you look at it in that aspect, you can only reach one conclusion, and it is not pretty.  Our country is being attacked from within.  The ominous warnings that appeared on this blog and MY AMERICAN OPINION long before Obama was elected are coming true.  Our country is in peril.  


We have to do something about this and, at the rate progress is now being made by the Czars and other Administration officials, I'm beginning to think that the November 2010 elections may be our last free elections in this country.  That's scary talk.  While Obama and his henchmen are doing everything they can to drive us apart, racially, economically, socially, politically, religiously.... we must do just the opposite.  We must stand together, shoulder to shoulder, arm to arm, and we must make every attempt to cut off the head of this ugly snake that is poisoning our country.  We must stand united, because divided we will fail. 

POLITICAL BIG WIGS STUMPED OVER VOTE?

The Republicans have been salivating to no end over the prospect that they are going to reap major, major gains this year. Hannity and Rove have been predicting a Democrat slaughter like no other ever before in history. They have not, however, been reading my blogs. So, one more time, let me explain it to you knuckleheads.

We American citizens, the ones paying the way for all of the things that are wrong with this country, are tired of it. We’re tired of the double-talk, the lies, the disinformation, the misinformation, the relentless spending, the innuendo talk, the corruption, the ethics violations, the partying, the lobbying, the deal making… we’re just flat tired of all of the bullshit. This is not about Democrats vs. Republicans; it’s about us vs. them… the proletariat vs. the elitist Progressives. And, it’s about big government vs. our Constitution.

When it comes to the sad state our government is in, the Republicans are just as much to blame as the Democrats. And. As I’ve said countless times, if the Republicans want to have another chance to mend their ways, (they sure as hell blew their last chance), they need to show us some strong leadership and an undeniable commitment to our country. We have seen neither. The Republicans have weak leadership at the National Committee level. They have not come out with any solid commitments as to where they stand on anything. In our eyes, the only reason they made any noise at all about the health care debacle is because we, the rank and file, were flat ticked off about it.

As far as we are concerned, we want to replace every incumbent in office… to clean house and to send the message that we are taking our country back. Now, as Barry Goldwater would say, it’s time to “shit or get off the pot.” If the Republicans expect to make gains in Congress, they know what they need to do. The fact that they have not recognized our sincerity of purpose for what it is or stepped up to the plate just lends credence to the proposition that they are part of the problem.

WE did not create the national debt, the immigration problem, the economic mess, the energy crisis, Iraq, Iran, North Korea, Afghanistan, the Health Care lie, TARP… We surely know who was in on all of this and we surely know that we are going to continue to stand together, shoulder to shoulder, elbow to elbow, until every last person in Washington who has had anything to do with this gross endangerment to our country has been removed.

If you want to make political hay out of it, you need to clean up your act big time and cut out the lap dances because the music is about to end.

THE VERY REAL IMMIGRATION ISSUES

Whether you realize it or not, our immigration system is far more serious than it is being portrayed. For one thing, when the subject of immigration comes up, we immediately think of Mexicans splashing across what’s left of the Rio Grande. What we DON’T think about is a Pakistani coming into the country on a visa, applying for and obtaining U.S. citizenship, and blowing up Times Square. You see? The whole system is broken.

Do you think, perhaps, that the porous U.S. – Mexican border has only Mexicans going back and forth? A letter which follows points out that several copies of the Quran have been found along border crossings. Our immigration problem is a very real security issue. There is no reason that anyone should be allowed to come into this country except through a checkpoint such as U.S. Customs; yet, there is nothing to prevent anyone from walking across the U.S. – Mexican border, or the U.S. – Canadian border for that matter, with a nuke in their suitcase. And once they get 10 or more miles into the United States, they can easily blend into the population.

Read the following letter from an Arizona Senator. This is the fairest, most comprehensive article I've read on the subject. MSNBC, NBC, CBS, CNN, ABC and the other media stations have it wrong--there's been a mass hysteria of disinformation from all of them. None of the media have taken the time to look at the bill along with its amendments. This Arizona State Senator has it right:

I don’t see how anyone can argue with Arizona’s right to defend itself after reading this.
I’m an Arizona state senator. I want to explain SB1070, Arizona’s immigration bill, which I voted for and which was just signed by Gov. Jan Brewer.


Rancher Rob Krentz was shot to death on his ranch over a month ago and the shooter fled into Mexico. His family suspects a drug smuggler is responsible. I participated in a state Senate hearing two weeks ago on the border violence that is, and has been, sweeping our border communities for years. From those hearings, we learned that:


– The people who live within 60 to 80 miles of the U.S.-Mexico border have been terrorized by the Mexican drug cartels and human smugglers. One rancher testified that 300 to 1,200 people cross his ranch every day, vandalizing his property, stealing his vehicles, cutting down his fences and leaving trash. He testified that in the last two years, he has found 17 bodies and, alarmingly, several copies of the Quran.


– Another rancher testified that drugs are brought across his ranch in a military-style operation, with guards armed to the teeth. A point man with a machine gun goes in front, a half-mile behind are the fully armed guards, a half-mile behind them are the drugs, and behind the drugs are more guards. This was not the only rancher we heard who talked about the drug trains.


– One man told of two border crossers who came on his property, one of them shot in the back and the other in the arm by drug runners who forced them to carry drugs and then shot them. They frequently hear gunfire at night and are afraid to leave their ranch for fear of what the smugglers will do to it.


The Border Patrol is not on the border. It has set up 60 miles away with check points that do nothing to stop the invasion. The officers are not allowed to use force in stopping anyone who is entering.


The national media do not report on these stories because it conflicts with their perception of the illegal immigration issue, which is based on an assumption that all illegal immigrants are law-abiding landscapers, maids and day laborers. While this is true in many cases, it is also true that our federal and state prisons and county jails are full of a disproportionate number of illegal immigrants who are committing a disproportionate number of crimes.


The federal government has failed to do anything substantive to help border states like Arizona. We have been overrun by immigrants and, once they are here, the state has the burden of funding services that they use. With a $3.5 billion state budget deficit, we have many difficult decisions to make, and one of those decisions is that we don’t have the money to care for people who are not here legally.


This has to stop. The border can be secured. We have the technology, we have the ability to stop this invasion. We must know who is coming into the country, and they must come in an organized manner – legally, so that we can assimilate them into our population and protect the sovereignty of our country.


The national media has distorted, disfigured, and dismembered Senate Bill 1070 to the point that its reputation no longer bears any resemblance to what the bill actually does. Those who claim it is racist, or will foster a Nazi-state are themselves fostering unwarranted and irrational hysteria.
The fact is that Senate Bill 1070 merely makes it a state crime to be in the United States illegally. It also explicitly prohibits law enforcement officials from solely considering race, color, or national origin in determining immigration status.


Many lawmakers who supported SB1070, including me, also support amnesty, but not until we secure the border. Failing to secure the border only moves us closer to some form of a North American Union with no borders and no national sovereignty. Many of those protesting SB1070 have called for just that.


Maybe it is too late to save America. Maybe we are not worthy of freedom anymore. But as an elected official, I must try to do what I can to protect our Constitutional Republic.
Living in America is not a right simply because you walk across the border. Being an American is a responsibility. Freedom is not free.

We have a responsibility as Americans to get this problem fixed, right now. We need to examine our passport policy, our visa policy, our “anchor” policy, our border policies… all of these policies need to be reviewed not only from the aspect of cost to the taxpayer, but also from crime in the streets and our requirement to be secure from terrorism.

We are not to blame for these blaring and consistent failures to address vitally important issues. But, we certainly know who is, and all they need to be removed from their positions in November, Republican and Democrat alike.

WAS GULF TRAGEDY AN ACCIDENT, OR CAUSED BY GROSS NEGLIGENCE?

Information barely being covered in any press or media outlet is that BP/ARCO had certain environmental responsibilities when drilling and operating in the Gulf that they did not meet. It has already been pointed out, albeit briefly, that a rubber-skirted boom is supposed to be on hand in order to provide an immediate response to such an incident. The boom surrounds the leak and pumps then skim the oil off the top. Where was the barge with that equipment, and where was the response crew? Is it true that they were told they were not needed because BP/ARCO had already sealed the well?

When you drill, you pack special cement around the outer side of the casing at the top to prevent a blowout, where oil and gas pressure force their way up the outside of the casing and blow off the wellhead. It is possible that the company which provided that cap, (Haliburton), was misinformed by BP/ARCO (in an effort to cut costs?) as to the depth of the well and therefore poured too small a cement cap. Resulting pressure could blow that cap, destroy the automatic shutoff valves and create the resulting mess. Word seeming to support the possibility came late Friday that a huge methane bubble escaped from the wellhead and surfaced below the drilling rig, causing the instantaneous explosion and fire.

The White House was also slow to respond. Nine days passed before the Administration put into motion its emergency management response to the disaster. Although the President and Secretary of DHHS both insisted that the Administration was on top of things “from day one,” it was heard Friday and mostly unreported that BP/ARCO had called authorities and told them they had everything under control. That remark would tend to substantiate Obama’s early statement that the "experts," BP/ARCO, were on the scene and taking care of things.

Those who have followed BP/ARCO’s environmental and safety track record are very aware of its extremely poor performances, its stone-walling and its continued failure to meet its corporate responsibilities to the environment and to the countries where it operates. While accidents can and do happen, BP/ARCO’s accidents invariably involve negligence… usually gross negligence. Their CEO, Tony Hayward, bragged last year that, despite increased oil production in exotic deep waters, he had cut BP's costs by an extra one billion dollars a year. Was that all due to cutting safety corners? Does the fact that they were partners with Exxon in Alaska drilling operations when the Exxon Valdez ran aground tell you anything?

British Petroleum’s 1st Quarter profit in 2010 exceeded $6.1 billion. That’s $67 million per day operating profit. While three days worth of profits could more than adequately mitigate the remaining radioactive and other dangers at BP’s Yerington Anaconda Mine in Nevada, BP has continued to fight cleanup efforts every step of the way. In the meanwhile, downstream residents are facing increasing levels of uranium and arsenic in their domestic wells.

If I owned stock in BP/ARCO, I couldn’t bear to look at myself in the mirror every morning.

GIVING CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE

This post will be a little shorter than usual, primarily because I had to rewrite it with limited time to do so. I had originally intended to lambast BP ARCO over their environmental record; it’s abominable, you know. Look it up on the Internet; search Google on “BP ARCO LAWSUIT” or “BP ARCO FINED” or along those lines. You’ll even eventually get a lead to their big oil deals with Iran. Check out www.yamsite.info

I had also considered tackling immigration and the failures of so many administrations which have failed to deal with the issue, going all of the way back at least 40 years.

Some other ideas had intrigued me, such as the relationships between a couple of major labor unions that are taking member’s hard-earned dues money and using it to undermine our government and our country.

But, a breath of good air has blown across the country and I would be remiss if I didn’t pause and recognize it as being something truly remarkable. I think that the New York City Police Department and the F.B.I. did a truly remarkable job in all aspects of the attempted Times Square bombing over the weekend. From the very moment that a street-side vendor tipped off a mounted policeman to a Nissan Pathfinder left running with its passenger compartment filled with smoke, to the capture and arrest of the admitted perpetrator as he was attempting to make his escape at Kennedy Airport… literally plucking him off the plane after it had left the gate… everyone involved knew what had to be done to identify and nail those responsible and they did it. Not only did they get the job done, but they did it within less than three days and that included rounding up accomplices in Pakistan.

I do disagree with Mayor Bloomberg and Eric Holder taking the credit for this. Bloomberg initially alluded that the guy who did it was probably some deranged and disgruntled American stirred up by bloggers and right-wing evildoers like the Tea Party. Holder grandstanded after the arrests started to come down as if he had personally been in the thick of things and was single-handedly responsible for the quick resolution.

The real applause belongs to the guy on the horse, the explosives experts, the fingerprint guy, and the VIN investigators… each and every one of the outstanding gum-shoe detectives who rolled up their sleeves and put the facts and clues together. Great job and, on behalf of Americans everywhere, thanks from the bottom of my heart.

MANHOLE COVERS BLOW UP IN NEW YORK CITY

BREAKING NEWS POST

Manhole covers started blowing off in New York City around 2:20 PM EDT today, May 3rd.  Initial reaction is that there is an electrical fire in underground tunnels and vaults.  There is no indication at this point that these events are tied in to the weekend bombing attempt. 

In the meanwhile, reports are coming out that the weekend bombing attempt DID involve international sources. 

NYC BOMB: TERRORISM? (UPDATE)

The news as of 3:30 PM EDT on Sunday, May 2nd, is pretty much the same.  We now know that a shop manager initially saw the vehicle and notified a mounted policeman.  We know that a Caucasian-appearing individual was looking at the vehicle from an alley while taking off an outer dark shirt and leaving a red shirt underneath; that he then immediately left the area.  The white powder in the vehicle appears to be fertilizer.  The bomb is said to have been assembled in an unsophisticated manner using MD-80 firecrackers as the primer.  

I'm of the initial opinion that this is not the result of the "heated rhetoric" that President Obama claims may cause some radical extremist to do something "explosive;" neither of the shirts worn by the suspect bore the "S.E.I.U." logo.  

NYC BOMB: TERRORISM?

A Nissan Pathfinder containing a white powder, propane and gasoline was discovered smoking in a crowded Times Square by an alert police officer at approximately 7:00 PM EDT on Saturday, May 1st.  He also noted someone running from the vehicle; the officer immediately called for the bomb squad, as well as more police and fire response.  Within a very short time, it was determined that the plates on the vehicle did not belong to that vehicle.  The bomb squad determined that the bomb was intended to do a lot of damage and certainly would have killed people, had it gone off.  Times Square was evacuated.  

Although it was not officially called a terrorist act after seven hours into the investigation, it most certainly was and I do not think that the attempt was domestic in the generic sense of the word.  I believe as of the time of this post that the plot involved foreign influence. 

Counting the Christmas Day airline bomber, that's two very close terrorist acts that could have caused massive destruction and loss of life.  We got lucky, but I don't know how much longer this run of luck will last under this President. 

WHERE HAVE ALL THE LEADERS GONE?

Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Franklin, Lincoln, Churchill, Truman, Reagan, Patton, Grant… Where have all of the truly great, inspirational and patriotic leaders gone? Here we stand in the middle of the greatest national and international crisis since World War II and we have no leaders. Why?

We are surrounded by greed, crime, graft and corruption. Those who want to seize all powers from the people are in charge, and they are too busy accomplishing their all-consuming tasks to pay attention to the fact that none of them are leaders; no matter how much power they manage to accrue, there is not one among them who is a genuine, bona fide leader. They may manage to seize control through the creation of a dictatorship or the advancement of their “regime,” and they may succeed in ruling through sheer oppression but… there’s not one of them who can lead his or her way out of a wet paper bag.

Their style is to lie, twist, cheat, coerce, bully, bribe, instill fear and threaten in order to get things done. Those are the tactics that were used to belligerently pass a Health Care Bill that Americans still do not want, to enact TARP and Stimulus, to seize control of banks and businesses and now the markets… These are not leaders; they are tin-horned despots clawing their ways to the pinnacles of power.

McCain, Paul, Romney, Graham… These are people seeking to achieve the Presidency but, there are still no leaders among them. The plain and simple fact is that we are a nation without leadership, floundering in a sea of declining statesmanship, seeking to find our way in turbulent times without a compass, and without purpose.

People follow leaders because they are inspired to do so; they seek to follow because the leader possesses a quality of righteousness, fairness, vision, and the ability to get the job done. Despots, on the other hand, command people to do as they say or to suffer some dire consequence; either you pass the Bill today, right now, or the world will end. As much as I disliked his politics, Kennedy was a leader; Obama is a despot. Kennedy had a genuine, heartfelt interest in the benefit of his followers; Obama doesn’t give a damn about anyone’s benefit other than his own.

In times of crisis in this country, there has always been someone with the guts, courage and foresight to be a leader and to crusade against the despots of the world. Joe Wilson showed guts and courage when he stood up and hollered “Liar!” during Obama’s speech to Congress, but I don’t know that he is a leader. Gingrich certainly shows signs of leadership, as does John Boehner, but I haven’t made up my mind yet that they are what we need.

In short, we are to blame for this dearth of leadership; we have been asleep at the switch. Now that we are awake, we have a very short time to seek out, identify and enlist leaders who can take responsible charge of the situation and lead us out of this mess which has been accumulating over the last 21 years. We have to dismiss charisma and slick talk and look to the people who have a history of getting jobs done right and who owe their allegiance first to their families, second to their country, and lastly to their parties or agendas.

We need to create an atmosphere in Washington that will attract leaders rather than despots and elitists. We need men and women in charge who are God-fearing, patriotic Americans who believe in our Constitution and who are willing to stand up to the tasks of chasing crime, corruption, graft and Progressivism out of Washington. Time is of the essence in this endeavor. On November 2nd, when we go to the polls, we must know beyond doubt in our hearts and minds that we will be successful.

We cannot afford… We must not be deterred in our quest by the naysayers, by the name callers, by detractors or by the “establishment.” We must keep our hearts and minds focused on the tasks that will be done. We must stand together, united in the common bond of patriotism, certain in our ability to succeed and determined not to fail.

I absolutely despise people who lie, cheat, yell, scream epithets, accuse me of being a terrorist, call me an un-American, Astroturf, misguided Tea Party Member, and tell me to shut up and get out of the way. I have absolute hatred for those who tell me they are going to do one thing and then do another. I can’t stand power mongers and Progressive elitists who openly and willingly tear town the Constitution that my ancestors gave their blood to create and protect.  My ancestors have been here since 1636; just how long have your ancestors been here? 

I would like to spit in the faces of those who piss away my hard-earned money and have the gall to extract more from me. I hate crime, graft, greed and corruption. There is no place in my heart for sanctimonious, low-life potentates who attempt to purloin my right to free speech, who mock me about my guns and religion…. You amount to despicable despots whose agenda is in direct conflict with everything I believe in and am willing to die for.

There, I’ve done it. I’ve openly admitted my prejudices. In your face, Barack or Barry or Hussein or whatever your name is. In your faces Clinton, Carter, Pelosi, Reid, Frank, Dodd, Sharpton, Jackson, Emanuel, Holder…. et al…. Yes, I’m prejudiced. I don’t like you. You are the antipathy to all of the fundamental good things that our ancestors brought to this country. You are evil wrongdoers and you and those like you need to be removed from any and all positions of authority in this country. Like dogs in heat... you need to be neutered.  

Now that I’ve admitted my prejudices in your face, just what do you intend to do about it? It probably makes your blood boil, doesn’t it?

TEA PARTIES STEEPING UP TO THE PLATE

There has been a growing and not-so-subtle crescendo of verbal attacks against The American Tea Party and its namesakes across the country in recent days. They have been called “racists” and “terrorists,” among other things. Several media outlets, liberal commentators, and progressive politicians have suggested that the Tea Party rhetoric will fan the emotions of some far-right loony into taking overt and catastrophic action akin to the Oklahoma City Federal Building bombing.

Obviously, there is concern and fear among the progressive Marxist socialists that the Tea Parties mean business and, further, that they are carrying valid arguments to the doorsteps of America. If the Progressives had their ways, the Tea Parties would all dry up and blow away.

That doesn’t appear to be in the cards.

The problem is that Tea Parties have cogent and sound arguments against TARP and a stimulus package that did not work and which resulted in hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars that cannot be accounted for. They are solidly against the rampant spending coming out of Congress and the inevitable tax increases already in the works. They are aghast at the political methodology employed in the passage of a national Health Care Bill that a large majority of Americans were against. They are disillusioned with the reality that Obama’s “change” had no relation to the cleaning up of crime, corruption and lack of ethics and constituent responsibility in Washington.

Instead of arguing the concerns on their merits, detractors have opened a flagrantly nasty rhetoric that seeks to marginalize and diminish the stature of the Tea Party organizations. It is, anew, the politics of “gutter attack and mud-slinging” which characterized the last election, now directed against Americans who see themselves as patriots engaged in defending the Constitution… the same Constitution that President Obama has openly said in the past is in his way.

One of the tactics being employed is trying to entice Tea Party members into physical violence. Members of the S.E.I.U., a favored union of Obama that is closely affiliated with ACORN and for which Obama was a former attorney, have appeared at several Town Hall meetings, Tea Party rallies and demonstrations in an overt effort to cause physical confrontation. In Searchlight, Nevada, (Harry Reid’s home town), members of a union threw rotten eggs at buses leaving a Tea Party Express rally and tried to intimidate bystanders who saw what was happening.

Another tactic being used is trying to make Americans afraid to show up for meetings or rallies through the introduction of fear. There were many allegations by the Obama-controlled media that Tea Party demonstrators had tried to incite violence by using the “N” word and shouting other epithets at passing Members of Congress on the Capitol steps during the final stages of voting on Obamacare. Yet, with the tens of thousands of people and throngs of media there, no one managed to get it on video or audio. Ensuing claims of racism were directed at alienating concerned and interested Americans from the tea party movements.

These are the tactics of bully Marxist-Socialists intent on steering Americans away from pursuit of the truth. If they are afraid of the truth and they are in charge of the country, just where are we?

To their credit, the Tea Parties have not bit on the bait. They continue to hold peaceful demonstrations and they seem to be relentless in informing Americans as to what is really going on in the existing circles of Washington power. The Progressives have an agenda which has been extensively advanced since Obama took office and they will not willingly give up one inch of those advances to an insolent patriotic movement.

The various American Tea Parties, comprising citizens from all walks of life, are not flinching. They are bound and determined to bring this great nation, a nation for which no apologies should ever be issued, back to reality. It is not the American Tea Parties which have created the atmosphere of discontent; it is the establishment which has turned its back on the citizens that is to blame.

TEA PARTY RANKS BEGIN TO SWELL

The number of Americans claiming to be members of a Tea Party organization has doubled since Obamacare was passed in March. The number showing up for Tax Day protests across America was substantially higher than last year, running from twice as large to as much as ten times as large in some areas.  The NEW YORK TIMES reports that, "On the whole, the supporters dislike President Obama and Congress and say that the government in Washington cannot be trusted. Most say that the country is seriously off course, and that all members of Congress should be replaced, yet most say the country does not need a third party."  

President Obama is openly trying to diminish the significance of the Tea Party movement and radical liberals and Democratic members of Congress are trying to marginalize members by calling them "racists." 

The open hostility and belittling of the Tea Party movement by Pelosi, Reid and Obama has played a direct role in its success.  Attempting to diminish the size of Party turnouts and to dismiss their rallies as "irrelevant" while tossing out outright lies about the organizations and what they stand for has solidified their support.  

Americans know that they are not to blame for the economic crisis we are in and they know that Democrats and Republicans alike bear the responsibility.  Nevertheless, and just to show how out of touch with reality they are, some politicians are now calling for the end of unemployment benefits, having the audacity to suggest that recipients have become lazy and are not looking for work.  Obviously they don't give a damn about the fact that 15 million people are out of work and 160,000 "new" jobs were created last month while 1.5 million more people were laid off.  

WHERE IN THE HELL ARE YOU GOING TO FIND A JOB?  WHEN IN THE HELL ARE YOU GOING TO SHUT YOUR FLAPPIN' GUMS AND START CREATING JOBS?  

That's the energy that is coursing through the veins of the new guys in town, the Tea Party members.  Those in high places in the corridors of Washington would be well-advised to start packing their bags.  This movement is NOT going to dry up and blow away.  

HEAT RISES ON THE HEALTH CARE BILL

As more and more citizens, liberal and conservatives alike, take a closer look at the actual Health Care Bill as passed into law and as compared to what Messrs. Obama and Reid and Madame Pelosi were claiming the Bill contained before passage, there are growing calls for the repeal of the Bill and some calls that the Bill’s authors should be hung in the Rose Garden by their toenails. Several liberal-leaning newspapers including the LOS ANGELES TIMES are lamenting that their illustrious Washington leaders lied when they said the Bill would be deficit-neutral and would reduce costs. Having read some of the fine print, they now realize that there is nothing to contain the cost of rising premiums and that Federal and State taxes are going to rise… substantially.

The ranks of the American Tea Party are swelling… double just since the passage of the Health Care Bill and still growing. Membership is diverse; 40%of the members are Democrats, about 40% Republican and 20% independents. All races and religions are represented. It appears that the two issues which draw this diverse membership are the deficit, (looming higher taxes while the incumbents continue to spend), and the health care bill.

Former New York Governor George Pataki has decided not to run for the Senate this November so that he can concentrate on forming a broad coalition called “Revere America” to repeal the Health Care Bill. “I'm optimistic that we can not only change that and have a significant impact in undoing the government's takeover of the health-care system, but we can also help candidates move onto other issues so that those who believe in limited government and not having Washington usurp power from the people and sacrifice their future with trillions in debt, in borrowing -- then, we can have a very real impact.” Pataki also said, “There's no question in my mind that contrary to what the President has said on numerous occasions and Democrats thought that once they passed it, the opposition would go away. Now that it's passed, people are becoming more aware of the horrendous provisions in this bill, public opposition is growing.”

That it is. Almost a month after passage, 58% of Americans are actively in favor of repeal. I hate to say it, but this “Unknown Scribbler” was sounding the alarm bells about this legislation almost a year ago and I’ve been called a “Radical right-wing terrorist,” “Astroturf,” “Un-American,” and “S—t Disturber.” Yet, here we are not even 30 days after the bill was passed and Americans are forced to come to grips with the knowledge that Obama, Reid and Pelosi were flat-out lying to them.

Obama and his cronies are seeking to deflect attention from the growing animosity about the Health Care Bill. Even as Obama’s popularity is sagging, he is trying to get up steam for a financial reform bill, Cap and Trade, and amnesty for illegals. He’s pinning his hopes on diverting America’s attention from efforts to repeal the Health Care Bill before the November elections.

The lawsuits being filed by at least 16 states against the bill’s passage and the rising clamors of Americans who are standing together, shoulder-to-shoulder for the first time in decades, make it increasingly unlikely that Obama will succeed in his endeavor.

THE TISSUE IS THE ISSUE

Quilted Northern sells those rolls that are “Double Sized” and last twice as long. The quality of the tissue, up to this point, has been above average in my opinion. However, I recently discovered that they have shaved an inch off the width of the rolls and they haven’t told anyone about it. So, I emailed them, and you can tell that they are being managed by some of those far-left radicals of the type that shoved a health care bill down our throats which we do not want. It was “for our own good.” Georgia Pacific, the manufacturer, made the unilateral decision that it would be better for the consumer to shave off an inch of paper than to raise the prices.

On that basis, we should expect that their tissue will soon be shaved by another inch or two and that, too, will be for our benefit. It makes you wonder just how narrow they are willing to go to keep costs from going up, doesn’t it?

I don’t know about you, but I don’t intend to find out. 

I'm going to vote the incumbents out of office in November.  I’m tired of being “ripped off” by the spendthrifts and I'm tired of being "ripped off" by Quilted Northern, (play on words intended); I’m switching brands.

STUPAK THINKS WE ARE TO BLAME

REPUBLICAN NATIONAL COMMITTEE LACKS LEADERSHIP

The Republican National Committee has fired its Chief of Staff, Ken McKay, after GOP funds were spent at an outing in a California lesbian strip club. This comes after the RNC last week fired Allison Meyers, the staffer who set the adventure up, and Curt Anderson, a senior staffer. Mike Leavitt has been named as the new Chief of Staff. Leavitt is totally unknown to most Americans; he’s not the same Mike Leavitt as the former Utah Governor who served at the EPA and DHHS as Secretary for George W. Bush.

The RNC has elected to retain its Chairman, Michael Steele, in the driver’s seat. Steele insisted on Monday that he would not resign in spite of accusations of excessive spending. Steele is said to have engineered the departures in an effort to insulate himself from the scandal. Infighting at the RNC is escalating and has alienated several key members.

I have made no bones about my position with respect to the Republicans. They share blame for this national health care bill because they failed to address our health care problems when they were in control of Washington. They have been just as much to blame for the past corruption and lack of ethics in Congress as their Democratic opponents. Just seven months from the November elections, the GOP has failed to come out against that corruption or lack of ethics; they have yet to agree with the majority of Americans who are fed up with the way our nation is being run.

Instead, it seems to me that the GOP is more focused on getting even than in righting a disastrous wrong that has been perpetrated on America. Steele and others have yet to develop a cohesive strategy for dealing with the issues at hand and they have also been treating the American Tea Party as if they expect the party to throw its support to Republican candidates in November. They fail to recognize that over 50% of the Tea Party members are not Republicans, but either Democrats or Independents, and the Tea Party seems more interested in picking the best candidates for jobs as opposed to simply picking Republicans.

From what I can see right now, the RNC is in disarray. Their Chairman seems unable to ensure that staffers will abide by ethical and moral standards or that adequate safeguards of party funds have been installed. I sure don’t want to contribute a dime to the RNC in this atmosphere, and there are tens of thousands of Republicans who are expressing the same concerns. In fact, fund-raising at the RNC is running on desperation mode.

If I didn’t hope better, I’d say this was all deliberate, part of a conspiracy to keep Obama and his socialist-Marxist regime in power. One thing I do know is , if the RNC doesn’t show strong, firm and decisive leadership within the next few weeks, it’s not going to save itself from extinction, let alone capture many seats in Congress.

There now. They’ve been warned. If they fall flat on their rears, they can’t blame me.

ANTI-OBAMACARE RANKS BEGIN TO SWELL

Even with the Obama speeches and Democrat hoopla over passage of the Health Care Bill, barely two weeks after passage almost two-thirds of Americans believe the new law is too expensive and gives too much authority to the government, according to a USA Today/Gallup Poll.  

As Obama would say, "Well, just what are you going to do about it?  Bring it on!"  (Just shut up and get out of the way...)

According to Administration officials, (the all-seeing, all-knowing folks who can never get their facts straight), there were 162,000 new jobs created last month.  Using their figures, an average of 450,000 new unemployment claims were being filed per week.  The way I see it, that's a net lost of 1,771,000 jobs based on 4.3 weeks per month.  

What are those imbeciles all ballyhooing about?  (Oh, I forgot... Tim Geithner is working on his income taxes... No wonder we can't get our figures right...)

OUR WORLD IN PERIL

The news is ominous. Iran may have an additional two secret nuclear research installations and may be much further along in its nuclear weapons program than we thought. North Korea may be responsible for the sinking of a South Korean naval vessel over the weekend. The Taliban is ratcheting up its offenses in Afghanistan. Terrorists bombed Russian subways. A “Christian” Militia operating in three states was on the verge of launching a domestic terrorism attack against law enforcement officers.

Those are the military dangers.

The world’s economy is in jeopardy, led by our national economy which is being pushed closer to a bottomless abyss as a result of continued extravagant spending by a runaway President. The nation is in the middle of political wreckage as a result of unethical, dirty and corrupt legislation in the Capitol. The fabric of American society is being stretched to the limits by those who stir the fires of racism.

Is the timing of all of this an accident? Or, is it being deliberately orchestrated? If it is deliberate, why?

The American Tea Party is swelling its ranks with disenchanted citizens whose voices are becoming louder and insistent on returning to more simple and conservative times. In the face of these protestations, the President and liberals are seeking to marginalize the Tea Partiers by accusing them of racism, inciting violence, and being “irrelevant,” and Americans are beginning to realize that their country is in the clutches of Marxist socialists intent on dismantling the Constitution and bending the wills of citizens and Congress into compliance with an ominous agenda.

These are troubling and explosive times.

The time may well be at hand when we need to quit worrying about who to blame and start worrying about how we’re going to deal with all of this.

IN THE ASHES OF THE HEALTH CARE BATTLE

When John McCain called Washington “The City of Satan,” he hit the nail squarely on the head.

Well, they lied, manipulated, disinformed, misinformed, bribed and threatened their way until they got what they championed as the greatest thing to hit America since sliced bread. If it was so damned good, why did they have to resort to these tactics in order to get the passage? 

Just so you know, (and no one will dispute these things):

(1) They convinced America this bill will only cost $940 billion over a ten year period, but that’s because we’ll be paying for it for four years before t kicks in. The actual cost of operation for a ten year period beginning in year four, when it’s fully operational, will be over $2 trillion. Where in God’s name are we going to get this money?

(2) Illegal immigrants will be covered after they pass the new immigration reform bill that will provide amnesty. That’s 12 million more people on the plan who are not in the CBO calculations.

(3) The “doctor fix” has already been agreed to, back in December, and will now be enacted into law and will cost another $200 billion that is not in the CBO calculations.

(4) The White House is already admitting that the Executive Order banning public funding of abortions isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. So, America’s Catholics and others who object to abortion are now forced by law into paying for them.

(5) There is absolutely no, zero, zilch provision anywhere in this legislation that will reduce or contain costs.

There’s a litany of other things fundamentally wrong with this legislation. For one thing, the manner in which it was accomplished is contrary to the Constitution. We as Americans should be marching down Pennsylvania Avenue in total outrage instead of sitting here crying in our beer. I’ve said for several weeks that this changed into being a battle of the wills between American citizens and an overbearing, oppressive government. If you think I’m exaggerating, ask yourselves why the President and Congress have decided that the provisions of this bill will be enforced by the Internal Revenue Service; that’s about as oppressive as you can get.

You know what? I, for one, am not going to roll over and play dead. I will fight this travesty, this treason against our Constitution, with every last dying breath in my body. I know that it was because of the uproar of the citizens in the final days of this legislation that they huddled behind closed doors and refused to stand up and voice their votes when the time came. They have looked into the eyes of citizens who are madder than hell, and they have felt fear.

This is a time for men and women of principle, Americans who believe in God and their country, to stand firmly together and to rise to the occasion that our forefathers knew we would one day face. We owe it to them and to our children to work together to remove this scourge that is infesting our country. On September 11, 2001, patriotism spread across this nation and we stood side-by-side in the face of adversity. We now need to do it again.

We cannot allow ourselves to be the ones to blame for the demise of America. As for me, I’m not giving up; I’m just getting started.

THE LIES: ILLEGALS WILL BE COVERED, ABORTIONS WILL BE FUNDED

One of the deals evidently made, judging by some of the last minute House vote switching, is that illegal aliens will be covered under the new Government Run Health Care System. But, the cost of doing so has NOT been included in the Congressional Budget Office projections. Here’s the deal:

1. The House passes the Senate version, which is silent on the issue of illegal aliens. The argument they put forth is that since it does not specifically cover illegal aliens, then they are NOT covered, but you need to know that once passed, the argument switches to “since it doesn’t say they are NOT covered, then they ARE covered.” Keep that thought in mind as we go on.

2. The President has announced they are going to tackle immigration reform. It is widely accepted that Obama is going to insist on amnesty for those currently here. Once they have amnesty, they are no longer illegal anyway, right?

3. Since the Health Bill was silent and the illegals are no longer illegal, they will automatically be covered.  No mess, no fuss and again, no vote. 

How do you think we’re going to pay for that without raising taxes and premiums again, or increasing the national debt?

As for the public-funded abortion problem, the House leadership and Rambo Emanuel from the White House have been insisting that the issue will be resolved in the reconciliation process. Bart Stupak seems to have his doubts and, if a deal is made for that purpose, Pelosi and her cronies will lose a large block of pro-abortionists who insist that abortions be funded.

A hint of what is yet to come leaked out Friday. There is no guarantee that the Senate will go along with any changes included in a reconciliation bill. In fact, the House could pass one, meeting their promises to their Members, and the Senate could vote it down, change it, or let it languish in Committee. Then, of course, the nation is stuck with the Senate Bill as is while Pelosi shrugs her shoulders, Reid “laments,” and Rambo and Obama give each other high-fives in the Oval Office.

This whole scenario, as it is being played out, is in total disregard of overwhelming American opinion. But, the dirty tricksters are already celebrating, announcing they are going forward with Cap & Trade, Immigration Reform, the Public Option and, presumably, gun control. We are left hoping that one of the many lawsuits to be filed will nullify the Health Care Bill; Obama is hoping to chase off at least one conservative member of the Supreme Court before the lawsuits get there, changing the balance of the Court from 5-4 conservative to 5-4 liberal.

He has another Ace up his sleeve. Should the public throw out the Democrats in November, (I guess ACORN is going to be involved again, so who knows what will happen), and should the new Congress pass a law to revoke this Health Care Plan, Obama will veto that bill and it will take a 2/3 majority to overturn the veto, which he is sure will not happen.

It appears that only a miracle can stop this outright travesty of American democracy. Between telephone calls and faxes to Washington, while we’re speed dialing and trying to stop it, we need to be praying for that miracle.

President Obama has dropped objections to any and all sweetheart deals necessary to get his health care bill passed.  Nancy Pelosi, now faced with a recalcitrant party few who refuse to go along with her plans to pass health care out of the House of Representatives, is working on getting the unpopular legislation passed without a vote! 

And Obama has now scheduled himself into an unprecedented interview on FOX News Wednesday at 6:00 PM in an effort to explain his positions. 

(I'm sorry, but I've been watching this mealy-mouthed liar manipulate, disinform and misinform the American public for over a year.  I will not be watching.) 

AMERICANS ARE AWAKENED; WE ARE NOT TO BLAME

For the first time in decades, Americans are glued to their televisions, radios and computers with an avid interest in what is going on with Washington. And the results show that they are not pleased with what our government has done to us in the past and is setting itself up to do to us in the future. Although the incumbents in the halls of power have become used to waning interest as issues come and go, they are growing increasingly frustrated that the public voice of discontent is getting louder and louder this time around.

In the recent past, Congress and the Executive Branch have been pretty much doing anything they wanted and they’ve been getting away with it. They acquired such a cavalier attitude that they no longer even attempted to hide their dirty deeds and, if caught, they simply pointed the fickle finger of blame at each other, shrugged their shoulders, and proceeded with “business as usual.” In fact, during the public uproar over some of their dirty tricks during the Health Care debates, Harry Reid even had the utter gall to say, in amazement, “But, this is how we do things in Washington.”

Now that they have managed to tick each other off over the Health Care plans, they have taken to blaming the American people for being in the way of getting things done. We’ve been called everything from Astroturf to members of the Mob. If they can’t win an argument on its merits, they denigrate, castigate, and pontificate.

Their problem is that we Americans have learned to hold our heads high and bark back. Americans of all creeds, colors, ethnic backgrounds and political leanings have been awakened and are working shoulder to shoulder, arm to arm and hand in hand to dig for the truths. In a desperate bid to stave off the angry public, Obama and Company are now engaged in a last-ditch effort to pass the monstrous health care plan that is so rotten and putrid that no legitimate process to get it passed can be employed.

We have another ten or so days of this battle for control of our government. It’s between us and them. We have come such a long way, we simply cannot draw a deep breath or let our guards down now. We can and we must win this battle. Our national energy has been mired down in this health care muck too long. We have jobs to create, businesses to save, and spending that simply must be stopped. They obviously have no intention of doing those things, so we must seize control and we must send the despots on their way.

Keep the faxes going, the phone calls, the emails… copy your newspapers and media outlets. Keep the Faith, we can do it…we’re almost there. 

TECHNOLOGY IS TO BLAME?

I’m reading with interest stories about new 3-D television sets coming on to the market, a super-fast Internet that is on the horizon, and that we can now watch movies on our cell phones when we’re not using them as computers. Where you used to have to go to the right library to research something, (maybe involving hours of calls on the phone to find the right library), today, you can usually get all of the information you need on any subject within a few minutes on the Internet. You can take old photo slides or negatives, scan them into your computer and manipulate them into anything you want to.

Basically, all of this technology has come along within the last 40 years. In the same 40 years, it seems to me that we have come dangerously close to losing our country. We have certainly lost our ethics and values. The code of the day is that whatever goes, goes. If Tim doesn’t pay his taxes, but he gets appointed to be Secretary of the Treasury, then I’m not paying my taxes because it’s okay not to pay your taxes; you may even be rewarded for it. If Bill lies under oath and gets away with it, then why can’t I lie under oath? If Charlie lies about corporate donations outside of the law, why do I have to tell a used car buyer that the brakes don’t work? 

As a matter of fact, it seems to me that some crimes have become a “rite of passage.” You’re not a politician until you tell a lie, screw an intern, take a payoff, and vote for legislation that the people don’t want. Until you have done those things, all of them, you’re not a full-fledged member of the political fraternity; you’re just a “wannabe.”

I often wish that we could turn the clock back to the good old days of the 7-inch black and white television set, when we were taught real history in high school, when America was a symbol of everything good in the world, when you were ashamed to file bankruptcy, when you were disowned if you committed a crime, and when you made absolutely certain that your word was as good as your bond.

Is there a correlation? Is it true the more technology you have, the worse your world becomes? Maybe the Muslims and the Amish are on to something, but I’m inclined to think that we really lost our way in this country when we lost our religion and when we allowed those who disagreed with our religion to take it away from us. If you’re not willing to stand up for what is right, what are you willing to stand up for?

We’ve got some serious issues facing the country right now, and we need to decide where we stand and what we are willing to stand for. It’s time to change the channel. 

OBAMA CUTS NATIONAL DEFENSES

With no fanfare and little mention, President Obama announced last week that he is unilaterally cutting the nation’s nuclear stockpile by 50%. This was a unilateral move; no other country gave anything back in return.


I believe that the international stability of a nation is directly proportional to its perceived vulnerability. That is to say that you are in a better position on the world stage if you deal from a position of strength. That is not to say that you must be a bully. However, no other country is likely to mess with your country if you have the ability to annihilate it.


The converse is true; the weaker you are, the more countries are willing to contemplate ill deeds against you. In daily life, the people who get mugged or physically attacked are women, children and the elderly and they are all perceived to be weak. Rarely does an attack occur against a strong and able-bodied man. Take health care, for another example. The President feels that he has enough political power to make Congress do whatever he wants of them, and he dismisses the American people as being dumb and having little or no power. But, when the American people band together and chase Congress and the President out, that will be a lesson remembered in the halls of Washington for many decades to come. That’s why Americans not only have guns on their nightstands, but they also don’t mind letting the rest of the neighborhood know it.


The unilateral reduction of nuclear weapons is a signal to other nations that we are vulnerable. This move is just as bad, if not much worse, as trying Khalid Sheik Mohamed in a civilian court. Obama may be willing to take the blame, but if we’re all dead, who’s going to be left to blame him?

NANCY PELOSI: Our Nation’s Shame

Word leaked out Monday on FOX News that, by all rights, should have Americans incensed at how our Washington politicians are conducting themselves.According to Karl Rove, Pelosi rules her roost like the Gestapo. She dictates how her fellow Democrats in the House will vote, by threatening to keep them from getting what they need in their states, by intimidating them with promises to remove them from their various committee assignments, by bribing them with taxpayer funds, and by any other means available to her. You can almost visualize her in her black, knee-high shiny leather stiletto boots with a whip in one hand and a sword in the other, barking orders and daring anyone to defy her.

Our nation was built on what we have assumed to be a rock-solid foundation of freedom of expression and the right to vote your conscience. To hear that someone in a position of high power, second in line for ascension to the Presidency, is actively controlling votes and stifling freedom of expression is beyond concerning. This is no less a matter of fascism than is rolling out the tanks and sending the storm troopers onto the streets. 

What’s even worse is that no one has the guts to stand up to her. 

Pelosi has already proven herself to the public to be an avid psychopathic liar. This latest revelation is repugnant to any sense of democratic values. The allegation needs to be promptly investigated and, if found to be true, she needs to be removed from her post immediately and from her elected office in November. It is no defense that these things have happened in the Senate as well, and in both Houses over a period of time. It is not the proper or fit way to conduct the business of our nation. 

There’s Charles Rangel, in a sea of ethics violations and past tax abuses and Nancy Pelosi is trying to rescue him. Once again, we hear that if Charlie should be removed, practically everyone in Congress should be removed, all of which goes to show that Pelosi’s House of Representatives is corrupt. 

It is indeed our fault that we have allowed these things to happen, and we will certainly be to blame unless we put a stop to it now. 

Nancy Pelosi needs to be investigated, charged and removed.

HEALTH CARE: ENOUGH ALREADY!

 We have asked our Congress and our President repeatedly to address themselves to the multitude of pressing issues facing our country today, such as unemployment, the national debt, terrorism, the Middle East, Iran, North Korea, ethics, corruption, taxes..... 

You have not done so.  For over a year, you have been focused, to the ultimate exclusion of proactive attention to the above issues, on a Health Care Plan that is against the will of the American people.  You have adamantly and steadfastly refused to do your required duties for the country. 

Enough is enough.

Your failures to exert leadership appropriate to the needs of the country stand as convincing evidence that you are willing to assume full blame and responsibility for the issues you refuse to face.  

You should be ashamed of yourselves for your selfish weaknesses and failures. 

Get out!  

Do America a favor.  At least have the guts to stand away and let the rest of the country deal with these issues before it is too late.  Do NOT wait until November.
