HEALTH CARE ISSUE: NO ROOM FOR NEW IDEAS?

SPECIAL POST

It’s obvious that certain members of Congress, most of them, are oblivious to what the public thinks. They want things done their way, and they intend to have them done their way whether Americans like it or not.

Here’s a fact: Their way will greatly increase the national debt that our grandchildren will have to pay. Since it doesn’t address tort reform, malpractice awards will continue to climb and the cost of malpractice insurance will continue to climb and the costs to us, the taxpayers who are footing this damned bill, will also continue to climb.

Here’s a fact: Since their bill does nothing to address the high costs of drugs or to allow us to purchase from Canada, the cost of drugs will continue to climb, and the cost of health insurance will continue to climb and the costs to us, the taxpayers who are footing this damned bill, will also continue to climb. Bold
Here’s a fact: They have already openly admitted that they will be cutting Medicare benefits and Medicare Advantage will be history, which means that the seniors in this country will be forced into paying more for the coverages and availability of treatment they currently have. When faced with this, seniors will be forced to the government-run health care plan, and the costs to the taxpayers who are footing this damned bill, will also continue to climb.

Here’s a fact: Their bills do not deny health care coverage… full government health care coverage… for illegal aliens. So, the costs of the government-run health care plan will continue to rise, and the costs to the taxpayers who are footing this damned bill, will also continue to climb.

Here's a fact: Their bills allow for government-funded abortions, an absolute atrocity in the ethical and moral minds of most people who have any religious background at all. In fact, more than one Congressman has said that the government should encourage, or even force abortions where the parents are on welfare or unable to care for their newborns. Not only is this outrageous, but
the costs to the taxpayers who are footing this damned bill, will also continue to climb.

Here’s a fact: The country is already faced with a shortage of adequately trained medical professionals and staffers. Adding 47 million more people to the system as it now stands while refusing to address the issue of shortage will only mean longer waits, less service, and worse treatment, all leading to more serious ailments requiring more treatment, and the costs to the taxpayers who are footing this damned bill, will also continue to climb.

So, the costs to us, the taxpayers will continue to climb. The lawyers will continue to get rich, the drug companies and insurance companies will continue to get rich, the seniors will get worse and more expensive care, we’re not encouraging more people to get into the medical profession, and by the time everyone realizes how we have royally screwed ourselves, it will be too late to undo what has been done.

The bills as written and being written are both immoral and repugnant to every sense of decency and financial responsibility to our seniors, our children and our grandchildren.

Given general agreement that health care costs to damned much in this country and that it should be available to all Americans at an affordable price, why is it that we cannot roll up our sleeves and work together to address malpractice awards, drug profits, insurance profits, cost-containment for retirees, coverage for the unemployed, and incentives to enter the health care industry? All of this can be accomplished without the government getting its nose another expensive boondoggle like Amtrack or the Post Office, or bailouts, or stimulus... or religious beliefs.

There can be only one answer to the question of “Why.” Those in power in Washington are hell-bent on gaining more control over us. I, for one, will not sit still for any more government infringement on the liberties and freedoms our forefathers gave their blood for. My position is well-stated in www.myamericanopinion.com

This cavalier mismanagement of our country must stop, and it must stop now. We can, and we must, set aside our Democrat vs. Republican mentalities and put America first. And, unless we Americans are willing to insist that it be done OUR way, by working together and seeking rational solutions, WE will be to blame for the decline in morality, the debt burdens and lack of freedoms our grandchildren will be left with as our legacy to them.

Shame on us if we turn our backs on our country and its future now.
