OBAMA: OFF TARGET AGAIN

When Hussein pushed aside any respect or sensitivity yesterday to seize the opportunity to put the muscle on his gun control agenda as a result of the tragic shooting in Charleston, South Carolina, he was laying the blame for violence in America solely on guns.  The fact is, violence takes the form of everything from hurled insults, clenched fists, sharp knives, explosives... all of the way to guns and chemical weapons.

It must readily be seen that the elimination or control of guns leaves many avenues of violence open.  Therefore, the problem is not guns... it's something else.

There are a lot of things that foment violence, including: drugs, money or the lack thereof, sex, psychological or sociological disorders... and the advent of movie and television productions which glorify such violent behavior.

Now, maybe we're getting somewhere. What do these things all have in common?

I submit that the problem stems from a breakdown in the fundamental rules and tenets of organized society, rules that are taught by religious institutions, through strong family values and through the fear of corporeal punishment.  Over the last four or five decades, we have seen attacks on religious beliefs, a breakdown of the family unit and the assertion that one should not be put to death for an act of murder.

We reap what we sow.

Guns are not to blame; we are.
