WHY THOSE WHO GOVERN US MUST BE REPLACED: Calloused & Abrasive Insensitivity To The Needs Of The People

FEMA in its continuing saga of inactions, mistakes, and total ineptness now adds one more blunder to its legacy. It started in the hours preceding Katrina when everyone involved underestimated what was about to happen, grew as countless hours passed in the hurricane’s wake while FEMA seemingly did nothing, and it was compounded when, after the disaster finally ticked off enough Americans that government was forced to act, FEMA herded victims into temporary housing…trailers filled with formaldehyde. Three years down the road and FEMA, under fire for the formaldehyde, is now telling remaining residents to get out. Many are otherwise homeless and destitute, but FEMA says that’s not their problem and no assistance is in the offing. Oh, and by the way, FEMA perpetrated one more calloused and malignant deed: it offered its vacant, formaldehyde-filled trailers to America’s Indian Tribes…”for free, just come and get them. Many are brand new and never occupied.”

There are approximately 600,000 to 750,000 homeless people in the United States. For the most part, the people are not productive members of society; they need health and mental care, clothing, basic job skills, food, and other forms of assistance. Yet, our government virtually ignores the issue and leaves it up to religious and charitable organizations to address this blemish on our society. Yet, in the same breath, our government does not hesitate to castigate other countries that face the same problems; we even send them money and aid to help them, while leaving our own to suffer the myriad of physical risks associated with “living on the streets.”

Almost 3,000,000 Native Americans live in the United States. From the 16th through the 19th centuries, the population of Native Americans was ravaged by European colonization. The government offered as much as $200 for an Indian scalp. Many hundreds were literally rounded up and shot. Epidemic diseases such as small pox were brought from abroad and wiped out thousands. Trapping for furs destroyed Native American hunting grounds. Countless Indians ended up being enslaved while the rest were herded onto desolate reservations and left to fend for themselves. Military defeat, cultural pressure, confinement on reservations, forced cultural assimilation, outlawing of native languages and culture, termination policies of the 1950s and 1960s have had deleterious effects on Native Americans' mental and physical health. Contemporary health problems suffered disproportionately include alcoholism, drug addiction, heart disease, diabetes, and suicide. The government insists that Indians give up their languages and, in the same breath, says that Spanish is our “second language,” requiring school books and government forms to be printed in both English and Spanish, but not Navajo or Paiute. Our government goes on to spend more per individual on health care for prisoners serving time in jail than it does for Native Americans who live in substandard conditions.

If you are from another country and you want to come to American and become a citizen of this country, you must be 18, you must have lived here legally for at least five years, you must speak and understand English, you must be of good moral character and you must know the basic history of the United States. Or, you can pretend to be a Mexican, cross the border illegally, and we must learn to speak Spanish while we give you free medical care, food, shelter and money and, if we deny you as an illegal alien any of those things, we are going to go to jail and that is all you need to know about U.S. history.

In traveling through Wyoming, one sees excess natural gas being burned off near oil fields. In rural California and other parts of America, it cost $300 to fill a propane tank in 2006 and $585 to fill it in 2008. The reason for the increase is “supply and demand.” The Federal government allows that the prices of automotive fuels is probably going up due to “supply and demand.” It then blames the price increase on the Chinese and the oil cartel. All of the time that the prices at the pump are increasing, the four major oil companies left in the country are recording hoards and hoards of billions of dollars in increasing profits. Congress and the President continue to shrug their shoulders and tell us that there is nothing they can do about it. A few of them have the audacity to suggest that the country could do without the 18 cent per gallon fuel tax that is used to support highway and bridge construction and repair, never bothering to recognize that a national transportation study confirms that our nation’s bridges are in a sad state of disrepair already; many are downright unsafe.

These are but a few of the many hundred of examples of a government that has lost touch with reality. And, this dementia seems to permeate Congress, the Presidency, the Supreme Court to some extent, and all of the layers of government beneath them all.

But, I would suggest to you that forming a new government under a new constitution is not even remotely the answer. The solution is replacement of those who fill the jobs in government, from the halls of Congress through the ranks of the Cabinet and all of the way through top management posts at every level of our government. And this can only be accomplished when we Americans will gather the courage to turn off our computers and television sets long enough to spend an hour or two a week to become more proactive in understanding and managing our government.

We need to pinpoint the demented, those who rule without reason or sensitivity, those who are not patriotic Americans, those who have created our educational disasters, and those who believe that we owe something to other nations before we owe anything to our own people. Then, we need to get rid of them. They are the ones who have brought us to this point in our history where we who are American have no right to complain or to voice our opinions unless we do it in Spanish and unless we live in “Mexifornia.” They are the ones who turn the backs on the needs of our people while extending the hands of “brotherly love” to the citizens of other countries who would just as soon see us drop off the face of the earth. Those are the ones who would give and give aid and comfort to terrorists and sit in their camps and commit acts of sedition while there is yet so much to be done here, at home.

Yet, they are in office, or they hold positions of authority in our government because we have allowed them to. WE ARE TO BLAME. But, there is still time to turn back and away from this ugly path we are on, and we can start in November by removing incumbents and replacing them with new blood, new vision, and new hope.

The path to a better future and to better government runs right through our living rooms. We can no longer sweep it under the carpet and pretend that it does not exist.

THE U.S. OIL MONOPOLY: Yes, It’s A Rip-off! Worse Yet, It’s A Sign Of A Fading Democracy

Back in the mid-‘70’s, I watched a large two-tank gas truck roll into the Shell station across the street; the driver proceeded to dump the gas into underground tanks. About an hour later, another, similar truck arrived and the scenario was repeated. What is interesting is that it was about 2:00 AM and the station had been closed for about two weeks. It didn’t open the next day, either, but I did run into the owner having dinner at the local diner that night.

“Hey, Gil,” I said. “How come you’re still not open and I saw two trucks unload over there last night?”

“Well,” he replied, “it’s like this. Right now I’ve got 50,000 gallons of gas in the ground. I actually bought that gas three weeks ago and Shell told me they’d deliver it later at the same price. So, I closed and I don’t have any payroll and not much overhead and now, I’ll wait another week and I can open again. I’ll sell the whole 50,000 gallons of gas in about two days and I’ll make about 50 cents a gallon on it, because the price has gone up that much. Not bad for two days work, huh?” Especially in those days.

Those were the days of the “gas shortages” and the public was gullible enough to go along with it. It was just a simple matter of creating the demand and holding back on the supply.

Déjà vu all over again? Well, the individual operators aren’t making the money. But, the majors are. It appears to me that they are putting out a good spin and great lip service and laying the blame everywhere except at their own doorsteps. Why can’t THEY hoard the gas and create the demand and limit the supply and drive the costs up?

I don’t doubt that production has leveled off. The wells will run dry someday. But the question nags at me: Are we citizens of this world paying the price of our own ignorance?

I can cite many cases in point. Remember the great sugar shortage that drove the price of sugar and soft drinks sky high? Why did no one complain about the price of sugar-free soft drinks going up at the same time? Remember the toilet paper shortage? Talk about all of the stock flying off the shelves over that one!

And now, we get to the “trickle-down effect.” In all honesty, I’ve expected the impact of high has and diesel prices to hit retail values for over a year now and I think that most outlets have done an excellent job in containing prices. Now, it’s time for us to pay the piper and we’re seeing all sorts of “sticker shock” wherever we go.

Nevertheless, we don’t see retailers claiming enormous jumps in profit similar to those posted by the oil companies. At the same time, the oil companies are controlling prices at the pump, not by telling the operators what to sell for, but by controlling the prices that they allow their distributors to deliver for. Let’s face it, we are down to four…. just four… oil operating companies in this country.

Isn’t this the reason the government broke the oil companies apart for 50 or 60 years ago? Had they not created a hopeless monopoly, similar to what we have today? Should we break them up again? Should we pull the ultimate coup and nationalize them?

I think there is ample legal precedent for the country to consider such drastic measures, based on the public need and under the same premise that utilities, rails and other similar industries are regulated. Here is one blatant example of what happens when “greed rules the day and government looks away.” This is just one of many, almost countless, symptoms of a crumbling will to govern ourselves. The day is rapidly approaching when we Americans are going to have to step up to the plate and take our country back from the pirate bandits or to watch Roman history repeat itself. The price of freedom and democracy is eternal vigilance and we Americans are to blame for ignoring our watch.

LET’S GET RID OF THE NEED TO BLAME: Join the Do-Gooders Today!

Didn’t do a blog posting last week due to the death of my beloved brother-in-law, Howard Robert Winn. I know he would have loved THIS blog posting, so I’ll dedicate it to him.

Let’s face it: The major problem we have in America today is where to point the blame. That applies to anything and everything. If you try to lay the blame for something at a politician’s feet, he’ll start dancing around the issue faster than the band can play the music. Point the finger of blame to a corporate entity and you’ll be facing a hoard of attorneys that multiplies like rabbits. Blame your spouse and you’ll be dead meat spinning on the rotisserie before you finish the last sentence.

Plain and simple, we MUST remove the need to blame anyone for anything. Therefore, we should start by having the courage and the fortitude to directly be proactive in resolving the ten, (10), most serious causes for blame at the earliest possible opportunity. I have some suggestions that I am putting on the table for your consideration:

(1) There has been a recent push to place alcohol detectors on all cars to prevent drunks from driving…. or any one from driving, for that matter, if they have had a drink. Now, we all know that will punch the cost of cars even higher… up to $500 per car. No one, however, is really thinking the problem all of the way through. I can get my friend to blow the tube, then I’ll get in and drive away. Who knows, this could lead to a new vocation, the name of which I’ll leave to your imagination. Booze causes health problems, just as cigarettes do. The real answer here is to get rid of the booze. Prohibition needs to be reinstated immediately. Come on, you must agree; if cars won’t start because the detector smells booze on the human breath, Congress won’t be able to get to work spending our money every day, and that’s what we’re paying them for.

(2) You’ve probably heard about the lady who is suing the bat manufacturer? Her son was pitching a little league game when the batter was lucky enough to swing his aluminum bat and hit the ball, which in turn rocketed back to the mound and hit the young pitcher in the chest in the left heart area just as the heart was relaxing, thereby causing the heart to stop momentarily due to a previously unknown rare heart condition. The lady says that aluminum bats hit the ball harder than wood bats. But, we all know that bats hit balls into players’ heads, bellies, wrists, groins… people get injured all of the time, whether the bat is made of wood or aluminum. The answer here is to reduce the size of the bat and the hardness of the ball. I recommend a law to require hollow plastic bats and balls in all baseball or softball games at all level of play from this point forward.

(3) Anyone who has tried to contact Dell Computer Service for tech help knows that Dell has the crappiest service in the land. That’s because all of their service reps are located in India, Indonesia, Thailand, or someplace where English is spoken with an authoritarian and unintelligible dialect and they are not empowered to take a pee unless it is in their manual. So, the new rule is that technical service reps MUST be located in the country, (U.S.) where the end product is sold and they must speak the language, (English), fluently. Otherwise, the product cannot be sold here. That saves us the agony of being accused of racism because we might decide not to purchase their bullshit products in the first place.

(4) We all know that guns kill people. They do it even without anyone around to aim and pull the trigger. But, those damned strict Constitutionalists keep harping on the right to bear arms. The simple answer, then, is to ban the manufacture, possession or sale of ammunition in the U.S. Let ‘em try and shoot that gun they cling on to without ammo.

(5) Now, it seems to be a national sport to talk bad about someone when they are running for political office. But, it just isn’t nice to talk about their spouses. Barracks Obama is just as correct in pointing that out as Chelsea was about people asking questions regarding her dad’s sexual life. We are only citizens, and we do not have the mental ability to think for ourselves or to digest issues. For that reason, I do not think that we, as Americans, are really entitled to know anything about the candidates, their backgrounds, or their relatives.

(6) Broken prophylactics are responsible for thousands of unwanted babies and thousands of sexually transmitted diseases in this country every year. Additionally, tinfoil wrappers and used condoms litter sidewalks, ditches, and flowerbeds across our beautiful landscape. Abstinence is the only answer, but no one will comply with such an edict. We therefore recommend the removal of all sexual reproductive organs immediately upon birth. For those who insist on having children, they can adopt from a third-world nation and thereby reduce hunger.

(7) SUV’s eat gas and kill small-car drivers. No one cares to touch this sacred cow, so we suggest that there be a law prohibiting the sale of more than three SUV tires to anyone. There’s more than one way to skin a SUV.

(8) Everyone complains about taxes. Married people get a break. People with kids get a break. The rich pay less than their share. People with mortgages get a break but renters don’t. Someone is always to blame on this issue, so the only fair answer is that the tax rates be set at 100% for everyone. That eliminates hundreds of thousands of IRS agents and tons of paperwork every year. The government can thusly be in charge of seeing that we all live in comparable houses, eat comparable food, and go to comparable schools.

(9) One of the major issues facing America today is identification. We need plastic cards for each bank account, cards for licenses, cards for medical information, cards for social security, cards for buying groceries, and cards for insurance. The idea of under-the-skin implants is ideal. These implants can carry all of that information and more, and we won’t have to worry about carrying cash, either.

(10) Race has been a problem since day one. The Europeans have been fighting the Indians, Mexicans and Negroes since well before 1796. The best way to eliminate this issue permanently is to remove everyone who is not of the original race on this continent. Therefore, the Indians are now back in charge and everyone else must leave. Don’t forget to stop by the casino on your way out.

I thought that ten would cover everything, but another has just come to mind that cannot be left out. Effective immediately, everyone born in this country will have their rear end sewn shut, because one of the oldest issues that we have had to place blame for in the past is the well-known issue, “Shit happens.”

Should I try to solve ten more next week?

THE REAL MEANINGS IN LIFE: The Benefits of Navel Contemplation & Other Fuzzy Things

Every now and then, I like to drive up into the mountains to my secret spot at the top of the world. Not only can you get a much better view of the smog up there, but it’s an ideal place to get inside of your navel; I mean, its quiet solitude is interrupted only by an occasional eagle slamming into nearby microwave dishes. Usually, the racket from the squawking, falling and dying eagle keeps other wildlife away, thereby allowing one to lose track of time and the pressures of life as he immerses himself into deep contemplation.

A soft pillow or cushion is absolutely essential to keep your buns from getting scratched on rocks and twigs. Picking a nice, sunny spot is another trick I learned long ago, because the cool air at mountain tops can cause goose bumps in the shady areas, particularly if there’s a northerly wind. One other necessity to make the day into a success is a baby pacifier. Once you get into your navel, you don’t want to get sucked back out by a bear looking for honey, so you pull the pacifier in after you to plug the navel opening shut.

Now, the journey begins.

“Do you suppose,” I ask aloud in the dark, moist silence, “that if Barbara Walters admits that she had an affair with a Senator many years ago, that means it is okay for mankind to be screwed by Congress?” I have always suspected that the cosmos connect all events in an orderly and meaningful manner which, upon inspection and retrospection, will reveal the ultimate secrets of the universe.

Moving along a little further into the dark recesses of my omphalos, I ask, “If Barack Obama says that he will never abandon his pastor and then he drops him like a hot potato just a week or two later, does that mean that all Democrats, (excluding the Clintons, of course), are heartless liars who won’t live up to their principles and who will turn on you faster than a snake?”

I know that I won’t get any answers to my questions until I reach the end of my journey to the innermost reaches of my interior umbilical canal. So, I continue, “If it is truly our fault that 9/11 happened, does that also mean that we are to blame for the increase in hurricanes, cyclones, earthquakes, volcanoes, pestilence, hunger, and bedbugs?”

“If our great President with the bobbing head declares that there are no signs of an economic downturn, and then says a week or so later that the economy is indeed sluggish and he’s trying to fix it, does that mean that he is a Democrat?”

“If Hillary says that she was under sniper fire in Bosnia and then fesses up later that she must have gotten her memories confused, does that mean that she was under sniper fire someplace else? Has she been hunting with Dick Cheney?”

“If they discovered drug trafficking and drugs all over San Diego State University, does that mean that Georgetown and Wellesley are clean? Would that thereby be proof that Bill and Hillary didn’t do drugs in college?”

“If there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, does that mean there are no nuclear programs in Iran?”

“If Saddam feared getting venereal diseases from his guards, does that mean he was gay?”

“If rice prices are at an absolute high, does that mean Condoleeeeeza is holding out for more money for the VP slot?”

“If you can create a diamond ring from the carbon and ashes of your deceased loved one and the value of the diamond is $5,000, but the value of the human body is only $4.50, would you have to pay capital gains tax on the diamond? Could you deduct mileage from your place to the jewelers?”

I hear a growing, groaning rumble coming from way down the other end of the umbilical tunnel.

“With oil inventories and oil supply actually increasing as the world’s economy slows down, why do the prices keep going up? Could that have anything to do with someone deliberately wanting prices to be high going into the November elections? Would the Democratically controlled U.S. Congress want to make the Republican President look bad so the Dems can win back the White House?”

“If all of those thousands of trailers manufactured for the Katrina victims are indeed filled with glue fumes and formaldehyde, could Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush deliver them to Myanmar to be used there?

“If Jimmy Carter can make peace with Hamas, can he make peace between Barack and Hillary?”

“If the United States ever does seal its Mexican border against illegal aliens and terrorists, does that mean no one, especially terrorists, will try to cross the undefended, under-patrolled Canadian border?”

“Is it true that a suicide bomber takes 72 Viagras before he pulls the plunger so that he’ll be ready for his 72 virgins?”

Uh, oh. The growing rumbling is now a roar. “GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE, YOU IGNORAMIC, HALFWITTED BUFFOON!” a thunderous voice echoes from the tunnel. “AND, DON’T EVER, EVER RETURN!” A rush of moist, warm air bellows toward me and I feel myself being pushed back from whence I came.

Dazed, I awaken in the sun with the pacifier lying at my feet. An eagle feather floats gently down in front of me. And I sadly observe that my navel has totally and absolutely disappeared. Apparently, I've just had the last of my navel contemplations.

Where’s the remote?

WHO, ME? Shell, Chevron, Exxon-Mobile, BP Arco, Conoco-Phillips Pass The Well-Worn & Tattered Buck

No play on words intended. While big oil lays the blame for skyrocketing gas prices at the pump on the oil producing nations and increasing international demands for crude, they continue to bank records of billions of dollars in profits…each. I don’t know if it is coincidence or not, but they are also managing to stick millions of dollars into various U.S. political campaign coffers. You figure it out.

The glib Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton, best known for her candor, (or total lack thereof), proposes a special levy on oil profits to pay for a gas tax cut. She fails to explain the smoke and mirrors of her “magical solution.” The oil companies will simply add the levy to the cost of gas at the pump, thereby keeping the price per gallon the same and transferring the income from national highway repair funds to the pockets of the oil companies, who will then turn around and pay that income back to the Federal government. The net effect is zero, except for the added millions that accountants and lawyers will make in the process.

Another common plea from big oil is that they are spending millions and millions of dollars on exploration of “promising new fields.” Well, (again, pardon the play on words,) they get a tax break for that. My retort is, “How much are you spending on research and development of alternative forms of energy?” Because, in the final analysis, we’re eventually going to have to be looking at alternative forms of energy in order to survive, anyway.

Then, they argue that the environmentalists have them hamstrung because they can’t drill for new oil in the United States or just offshore. Frankly, that’s the only halfway decent argument they put up, and notice that I said, “halfway.” Sewn up in this general context is the need for more refineries; the environmentalists are stopping them for building more.

Well, (again, pardon that play on words), I agree that the environmentalists are going to have to give some ground here. Otherwise, someone’s going to end up walking in the cold winter and I hope they get first crack at that pleasure. But, why can’t big oil modernize and expand its existing refineries to meet the increased demand at the pump?

And, what about the consequences of allowing Congress to simply shrug its shoulders? All economic history and current indicators point to economic upheaval. It’s already starting, and I know that you can feel it. I can, and I don’t care what President Bush says.

In a posting on another of my blogs, MY AMERICAN OPINION, I suggested a cap on oil profits, penalties for NOT doing research and development and tax breaks for doing such research, as a method for finding some cost-effective ways for switching our energy sources from fossil-fuels and coal to something else that’s user friendly and less expensive. Someone else has suggested a four-day work week to reduce driving, (as if we’ll stay home one day out of a three day weekend?), and there are a few other equally disappointing solutions being circulated.

But, so-called solutions have been given lip service countless times before and nothing gets done about it.

Perhaps, I also suggested on that other blog, we should have a national undeclared protest day, where no one goes to work and the production of goods and services stops completely, (except for emergencies), for 24 hours. No one shops, no one goes to work, no one watches TV, we all just sit around and bond with our kids and families, (assuming we can remember their names), and we let our illustrious Representatives and Senators contemplate their navels for a day.

I was suggesting August 4th. However, the nation’s truck drivers are now calling for a “drive out” for Monday, May 5th, as a protest against high fuel prices. I think we should join them.

We have to do something! Right now, Congress and Big Oil are in the driver’s seat and we’re the ones paying for the gas!

Monday, May 5TH! Stay home. Protest! Don’t go to work. Take a vacation day or sick day. Back the truckers. Get the message out.

THE GREAT SOCIAL SECURITY RIP-OFF: The Federal Government’s Giant White Lie

Lie: The Social Security system is running out of money because there are many more Americans reaching retirement age and fewer paying into it, it was a poorly designed system to start off with and we are going to have to find a way to fix it, or we are going to be out of money to fund it by 2013.

And, we are letting them get away with it.

In 1935, President Roosevelt signed the Social Security Act into place, announcing that it would be “voluntary.” In 1937, just two years later, they enacted a mandatory 2% tax to support the Act. They were quick to add that the annuities paid back out in benefits would not be taxed. In 1983, they started to tax benefits for higher income earners and Al Gore, as Vice-President, cast the deciding vote to make all benefits taxable income. This means that you pay taxes on the amount deducted from your check for FICA, and you also pay taxes on the benefits when you receive them, (subject to some exceptions). That’s double taxation.

The Social Security taxes were to be kept in a separate account, untouchable by the government for other general fund uses. In 1985, the Social Security Fund was moved
“off line,” ostensibly to enable the feds to keep better track of it. In fact, the surplus in the Social Security fund had ballooned so such an amount that the federal government felt obliged to correct the situation by starting to “borrow” from it. How much the feds owe the fund at this stage of the game is anyone’s guess and will probably be accounted for at some point long after the ongoing court case Cobell v. Norton is resolved.

In that case, the feds were obliged to manage monies for Indian tribes and Indians so that they wouldn’t spend it all away. Now the truth is, the Indians want an accounting of all of that money and the Department of Interior and its Bureau of Indian Affairs can’t seem to find the accounting records. They’re probably in the same location as the records are that will show how much money the government has “borrowed” from Social Security.

Now, of course, the lie. We’re running out of money. How much money would be in the system had it not been “borrowed?” Since it was “borrowed,” what is the interest? If all of this money had been left where it was, would we be in this “problem?” And, are those of us who paid taxes on that money twice already going to have to pay up a third, or fourth time? Or, are you kind folks on Capitol Hill just planning on phasing Social Security entirely out?

The final question for this posting is, “When are we Americans going to start getting some straight answers?” When the chickens come home to roost? Or when the Phoenix Lights move to Scottsdale?

AT TIMES, THE DIFFICULTY OF “WEIGHING IN” ON SOME THINGS THAT OCCUR IN TODAY'S WORLD REQUIRES MORE OBJECTIVITY THAN I CAN READILY MUSTER

I have received a flurry of telephone calls in response to my “Special” posting of April 14th. People are accusing me of being judgmental. Oh, you know the endless words and phrases that are used to deal with those in this world who, like me, think modern-day America is going to hell in a hand basket. Now, we’ve just added “judgmental” to the list of: politically incorrect, stuck on religion, far right, stuck up, ancient dinosaur, albatross, Christian demagogue, etc, etc, etc.

Well, PARDON ME! By your acclamations, ANARCHY REIGNS! We don’t need to go through the motions of propriety, ethics, or morals any longer. If someone does something I don’t like, I’ll just shoot the son-of-a-bitch, right there on the spot. Save the verbiage, just shoot first and don’t bother to ask questions later.

If anybody, gay or not, decrees that gays can give blood that MIGHT be tainted, that the blood given can enter the mainstream blood supply in this country, and that I don’t have the right to yell, scream, jump, cuss and call names, I’ve got news for you. No one has any right to tell me that I don’t have the right to protect my home, my children, and my personal being from danger. And that includes dangers to the blood supply.

That having been said, I’ll keep my mouth shut until next week. I’m busy loading up on bullets. Big ones. Maybe, like Iran, I’ll buy some from GE.

Off of my pulpit and back to my porcelain throne.

Some people just don’t get it. And THEY’RE to blame.

I’m so angry, I’m finding it most challenging to shut the rant off.

SPECIAL POST: GAY COMMUNITY WANTS TO FORCE YOU TO TAKE THEIR BLOOD!

You heard me right. Search with your browser under “gay blood” and you’ll turn up a whole slew of complaints from the gay community about the fact that the FDA bans them from donating blood. It’s discriminatory and it violates their civil rights. To add fuel to the fire, San Jose State University has taken their side by disallowing on-campus blood drives until the ban on gay blood is lifted.

I’m going to respond to this issue as politely as I can manage under the circumstances: Gays, not only do I not want your God damned blood, I will refuse it rather than accept it, even if I am on my death bed. So, take your horseshit agendas and stick ‘em where the sun doesn’t shine.

What in the hell makes you think that you have any right whatsoever to expose my blood to even the slightest of possibilities of being infected with the HIV Aids virus? Who in HELL do you think you are?

Anyone at FDA who allows this to happen should be immediately charged with conspiracy to commit murder and so should the staff and faculty of San Jose State. That’s what they are proposing. This is not about being anti-gay. This is not about discrimination or a violation of civil rights. This is about my life, my children’s lives and their children’s lives.

And frankly, I don’t care whether you like my stand or not. YOU are to blame for this ludicrous demand. Rot in hell.

CACOPHONY IN E FLAT MINOR: Polygamy And Other Hypocrosies

The news oozing out of Eldorado, Texas tugs at our hearts and souls. That young, often pubescent girls are being forced to marry men in their 50’s who already have wives, is a subject which surely must cause even the most desensitized to think twice before swallowing their apple pie ala mode. The first question that comes to mind is: “How can these things happen in this country in 2008?”

The answer should be obvious: “The same way they happened in 2007, 2006 and in every shameful year of countless decades before.” So, don’t let it bother you.

Now, don’t turn to look at me with that look of totally utter astonishment at what I have just said. The premise of my argument is this: If it’s been done before, for years and years, then it must be acceptable. Even if it is legally, morally and ethically wrong, it must be acceptable. Otherwise, we would stop it.

You see, if you are a registered voter and you have voted for McCain, Clinton or Obama, you have voted for unethical behavior, lies, deceit, criminal behavior amounting to a conspiracy, or anti-white racist belief. All of these behaviors, repugnant to me, are justified by such rhetoric as “All politicians are crooked,” “Nixon did it,” and “Clinton got away with it.” The underlying premise there is: If it’s been done before, done repeatedly, then it’s okay to do it again.

Carrying the argument one step further, we all know that the use of illegal drugs such as meth, coke, crack, heroin, is illegal in this country and the law says you do time for such use. Most occupations these days require you to take drug tests to keep your job. Yet, we make jokes about it and we actually say, about our Presidents, it’s excusable. And, we actually idolize people who get away with flaunting the law, taking Hollywood stars as the prime example.

So, why should polygamy not follow into the same category? What makes polygamy different?

If I have at least caused your sense of values to quiver even in the slightest of degrees, I have accomplished what I set out to do: awaken your conscience… if you have one, that is.

Is this national disgrace of polygamy the only fatality of our self-indulgent rationalizations? Or, or there more tales of ugly injustice hiding under the rug?

Did you know that America spends more money per person on medical care for its criminal prisoners than it does for Native Americans? Did you know that illegal aliens receive more in Federal benefits per person than Native Americans? Did you know that the vast majority of Native American communities are infested with meth, crack, and alcoholism? How would you like some figures on rape, incest, domestic violence, and violence against women on Indian reservations? Would it bother you if I told you that the Federal Government turns it back, with deaf ears and blind eyes, shrugs its collective shoulders, and changes the subject whenever it is mentioned? Oh, they do that with such finesse.

But, that’s okay, because it’s been going on for decades. Only the Lord knows what other atrocities are going on in our country under the rug. Sex slave trade, maybe?

Unless you are willing to rethink things, unless you are willing to open your mouth and to firmly object to these events, unless you are willing to get involved in proactive resolution of these issues, I would suggest that you keep your mouth shut, because it surely would be hypocritical for you to open it.

We ARE to blame, and I, for one, most certainly don’t have the stomach for apple pie ala mode. But, you can have yours. Don’t choke on it.

Let's Bring Back The Draft

Over the last 45 years, I have observed the erosion of national unity, the trashing of moral and ethical models, and other disturbing encroachments on “Americanism.” Those of us who were blessed to enter adult society in the ‘60’s and before have an entirely different vision of government, politics and democracy than those who have arrived later. Why?

Well, there was the entry of radically different liberal thinking and teaching into the educational system, beginning with University of California in Berkeley. But, I don’t honestly believe that one institution of higher learning could be solely responsible for the erosions I have witnessed in these years. There must be something more to it.

Rock music? Perhaps the introduction of sex, violence and drugs into the music scene is to blame? Certainly it had an influence. Yet, that factor alone could not have broken down our strong republic foundations upon which this country was established. Maybe the degradation of morals and judgment of our national idols…. Hollywood, Washington, television shows…. Once again, I dismiss that element alone as being unable to cause our ideals to crumble as they have.

When I engage in conversations with my peers, which is rare because most of them are either dead or in jail, I am readily able to draw the line between those who think as I do that we’re in a big crisis, and those who believe that we who feel the way we do are dinosaurs and too damned conservative to be relevant. I don’t consider myself to be conservative, however. Independent, yes. I’ll cross a party line in a heartbeat to vote for the better candidate. There are a lot of “liberal” ideas that I agree with.

If being Patriotic however, means being a conservative, then I am just about as conservative as they come.

So, what’s wrong with being a patriot?

What’s wrong with saying that we have no right to grant citizenship or amnesty to someone who crosses our borders illegally and won’t speak our language or learn our laws and history? What’s wrong with insisting that, if you do drugs and it’s against the law, you’re going to jail whether you’re a movie star or not? In California, about a month after 9/11, they arrested construction workers for displaying an American flag on a freeway overpass. Why? For making a political statement on public property.

By and large, those who subscribe to that philosophy never served in the American military. By the same token, most of us who become outraged at what we see our country doing today did serve in the military. We stood ready to lay down our lives to protect the freedom and the values that our forefathers gave their lives for.

There’s not a country around today, no matter how many arms they have, no matter how much power they wield, that would not think at least twice, or maybe a dozen times, before tackling Israel. Why is that? Because every man, woman and child in Israel serves a tour in the military. Does Israel have a strong sense of patriotism and nationalism? Yes, no question. Will they put up with any bull? Not much.

The American draft ended in 1973. That is, coincidentally, just about the time that patriotism in our country started to exhibit its downhill slide. That’s about the time that every tin-horn country started thumbing their noses at us and our national crime rate started to go precipitously up.

War is ugly. When you are at war, you must be willing to put everything you have at risk in order to win. Otherwise, the war is not worth fighting. When you put a gun in a young man’s hand and tell him to go fight the war, but don’t do this, don’t do that…. “If you get killed, we’ll be very sad, but if you kill one of the enemy we’re going to seriously investigate your ass…” You’re not fighting a war. It’s a charade. Don’t use this bomb or that tank.

War is not a fancy game of polo. People get killed in wars. “Political correctness” and war are diametrically opposed terms. Either you have war, or you have peace. The best advantage to have in a war is trained, patriotic and loyal men and women willing to make the ultimate sacrifice in order to win.

When war is over, those who fought don’t want to go back. So, they are willing to be far more vigilant and protective of their country and its way of life during peacetime. They will not allow the wearing away of their national traditions or the foundations upon which their country was built. And, the enemy is much less likely to want to tangle with them, because their trained, they’re patriotic, and they mean business.

So, there it is. That’s my argument. We need to bring back the draft. When you graduate from high school, you have five choices: (1) Go on to college and maintain a 2.5 GPA, (2) serve a mission for your church, (3) serve a mission with the Peace Corps or similar organization, (4) join the branch of military branch of your choice, or (5) be subjected to the draft into the army. It makes no difference whether you are male or female, rich or poor, black or white.

I think that’s the proactive way to deal with the issue. Let’s stop this tearing away at the fabrics of our society. Let’s make the terrorists think twice about invading our country and pulling off another 9/11. Let’s rebuild our national pride and sense of unity. Let’s quit blaming every one else for our national woes and grab the bull by the horns.

Let’s bring back the draft.

JUDGMENT DAY, USA

Oh, the clamor and the rancor of it all! The saga of the pompous American philandering potentates continues. Two governors of New York and one mayor of Detroit have joined the growing “BILL CLINTON SOCIETY OF ETHICS AND MORALS.” Oh, we hear, “The Democratic Party is disintegrating,” as if the Republicans are epitomes of sainthood.

Well, the new New York governor is undoubtedly going to keep his job. Who cares if he does coke, pot and screws around? He’s black and half-blind, so he gets a free pass.

Rationalizing right along… There was the mayor of Washington, D.C., (so happens to be our nation’s capitol), who bought and sold cocaine and took bribes, got tossed out of office on his way to jail, served time and got re-elected…. Well, he was black and everyone knows that the charges were trumped up, anyway, (forget the video).

How about some non-political idols? The daughter of a well-known and famous hotelier who did porno films, modeling, high-class acting, coke and booze…. That’s her, the one who thumbed her nose at the law and did a couple of days in the pokey because of it. Or her actress friend, also a porno star, coke and booze addict, mother…. who continues to be followed by flocks of reporters and to headline nightly entertainment news?

Let’s not forget the President who approved of the burglary at a Washington office and apartment complex, then actively participated in the cover-up until the day Congress decided to pass an article of impeachment against him, thereby forcing him to resign. Well, that was okay, of course, because of his great China policy, so he deserved…was entitled to…a Presidential pardon.

And, of course, the “other” President, who lied under oath, pardoned hundreds of federal prisoners on his way out the door, sanctioned the pillaging of White House computers and office equipment as his helicopter lifted him for the last time…the guy who gave new meaning to the word, “is.” He’s got a cute southern drawl, beautiful hair, and a nation full of sex-crazed women dying to know what’s so different about “the angle of his dangle.”

Try and teach your kids about morals and ethics in THIS climate!

Now, then, back to the Presidential campaign: we have, on the one hand, a candidate who shocks the nation into reality when they discover that he’s been going to church and listening to hate-white-America speeches for 20 years. Come on, people! The guy is a smooth talker, carries himself well, and he’s black. That is all any of us knew about him, absolutely nothing else, and we stood ready to elect him to the highest office in the land.

On another hand, we have a female candidate, wife of a former President, who herself is tainted by several legal scandals, degrades those who guard her by calling them all kinds of derogatory names, bullies her friends, buries her enemies, and who openly was a member of and supported an anti-American political group during college. Now, she gets caught in a lie, calls her chief opponent on his choice of churches, and we are finally ready to dump her?

Is it not ironic that half of the nation’s registered voters are still ready to elect one of those two to the Presidency?

On the third hand, we have a candidate who was the closest of friends with Charles Keating of the famous “Keating Five,” who was the chief investigative Senator into the doings of Jack Abramoff, the now-imprisoned lobbyist who raped tribal treasuries and paid off members of Congress for illegal favors. The Senator, in leading his committee to indict Abramoff, managed to escape his own receipt of contributions by giving it back and he refused to investigate other members of Congress who were accused of being on the Abramoff take. But, since he spent a few years in a Viet Nam prison sucking on rice, the other half of the nation’s registered voters are ready to put him on Pennsylvania Avenue.

What I don’t get, in all of this, is the audacity of the American electorate when they denied the opportunity to be President to one guy because he spends $400 on haircuts, another one because he’s “too Christian” and another because he’s a Mormon.

Obviously, we Americans do have our priorities in life straight, don’t we?

I vote we quit the pretenses and get rid of our ethical and moral mores so we can sleep well at night. Frankly, I’m tired of tossing and turning over it.

I must end now. I see my neighbor has gone off to work and here’s my opportunity to go over there and screw his wife.

Obama: Let Those Of us Who Are Without Sin Cast The First Stone!

I first visualized this piece as being a self-righteous diatribe on the subject of blame. I was going to point out that our society is moving further and further away from acceptance of the responsibilities for our own actions. We have rationalized the word "blame" away... almost into extinction.

As I worked my way into this epistle, I was going to point out that Obama has become almost "Clintonesque," in the sense that he first appeared on FOX and denied that, over a 20-year period of going to "that church," he had never heard the Reverend "Wright" say a "wrong" thing. As that obvious fabrication festered over the weekend, Obama's camp realized that their numbers were dropping and they had better do some serious damage control.

So, Obama went on nationwide television and came "clean." Yes, he had been to "that church," yes, he had heard some of "those words," yes it was disturbing to him, and the good Reverend was retiring and no longer active in the Obama campaign. Then, he stepped into the bucket of poopoo that this article was going to be about. He started to justify the offense.

Does this all sound like Bill Clinton, or not?

"The man is like a father to me. He married us, he baptized our kids, my mother was white, we lived in a poor neighborhood, my father came from Kenya, the slaves were mistreated, the subject of race in this country has been simmering for decades......" Therefore, and in the best interests of the future of our country and the coming together of black and white... and brown.... let us forget the mistakes of my past and press on to the greater mistakes of my future, because they should be automatically excused as well. Is it not natural that those last words would follow?

I was going to elaborate on this. We have become a nation of people who are unwilling to accept the blame for our actions. The girl literally screwed a governor out of his job, but that's okay because she had a troubled childhood and left home at the age of 17. The guy shot his mom and dad to death and stuck an axe in his sister's head, but that's okay because he was getting a failing grade in math. That guy over there grabbed a shotgun and a pistol and killed 43 people, but that's okay because guns should be outlawed.

Actually, Obama's speech would have played much better with me if he he had stood before the nation and said, "Yes, that's my church. Yes, I go there most Sundays. Yes, I know Reverend Wright said those things. But, that doesn't mean I am guilty of saying or doing wrong things myself by association. Judge me not for my associations and what they say, judge me for what I do and how I, Barrack Hussein Obama, act. But, sadly, by the end of his speech I halfway expected him to start discussing the definition of the word...."is."

Were this guy to become our President, and were Al Queda to invade our country and bomb our bridges and kill our citizens, would Obama say.... "That's okay, because they live under rocks in the desert and they don't eat well?"

Then, I was going to start alluding to my own life, and to expound on the fact that "guilt by association" is not a fair way to judge people. And this is where I ran into trouble.

I spent over 30 years in the casino industry at upper management level positions. In my early days in Vegas, there was no way that someone in my job would not encounter, or even "associate" with, some pretty dark characters. Does that mean I ever killed anyone? No. Does that mean I never got a hooker for a customer?

Wham! I hit the wall of my self-righteousness.

Have I ever lied? Have I have stolen? Have I ever used the "N" word? How many of us in this country in this year of 2008 can deny ever doing something wrong in our lives? Now that is a profound realization and most difficult to put your arms around and embrace. Maybe, it dawns on me, we should not be so quick to judge Barrack Obama.

Does that mean that I am going to back Obama and vote for him? Hell no, he's way too far left for me. Besides, I think there's more damaging stuff to come to the surface about Barrack. But, I'm not going to throw him under the bus for attending "that church," either. If any one needs to be thrown under the bus first for their misdeeds, it's the Clintons. That's a fact you cannot deny if you give it enough pause to fully consider it.

So, don't be in such a hurry to cast the first stone. Judge not that ye be judged.

In closing, this will offend some but, it will also serve to exemplify how I view race. To me, there is no difference between brown and black and white. It's what is in the heart and soul of the person wearing that skin that matter to me. For that reason, and that reason alone, my opinion of the Reverend Wright is that he's nothing but a damned nigger.

I said it, I meant it, and I accept the blame for doing it.

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly And The Face Of God

I have just encountered one of the most unpleasant slaps in the face of reality that I think anyone could ever face.

Let me begin by rationalizing my hatred of an untenable and unlivable marriage away. In this process, I will reach an ugly truth.

She was a lovable thing, vivacious and beautiful and wealthy in more ways than one. She had a healthy sexual appetite and, all things on the surface would add up to every man's dream. But, there was something wrong with her psyche. I think she was bipolar.... manic depressive? She could switch from being so wonderful, so great.... to such a bitch.... not in the middle of a sentence, but in the middle of a word. And, "bitch" was the understatement; it was pure hell trying to cope with her and I eventually gave up. So did her prior two husbands.

I hated her. She screwed me out of a verbal commitment regarding our new house that, if honored, would have netted me about $125,000 in profit. Then, she lied under oath at the trial and that cost me about $20,000 in cash. I accused her of being Satan on the face of the earth, and that was probably another understatement.

She just died of cancer...head to toe.

So, I'm driving down the road contemplating the goodness of God when the ugly realization hits me. I could have been responsible for her death.

The rationale here is this. Most medical professionals will tell you that, when the chips are down with a patient, prayer helps. The more prayers, it seems, the more strength the patient has to fight whatever it is that's dogging him. I myself know of several instances where the patient has been given a limited amount of time to live and he / she has beaten the odds.... But, a large number of people were actually praying for the recovery and the strength to make it happen.

Now, then, if positive prayers will give strength to the injured and sick, will negative prayers and thoughts have the opposite effect? There was a guy in Vegas who was an accountant for a casino and he was a total asshole. Everyone hated his guts. He was riding his Harley down a Utah highway one day and ran smack into the radiator of a Mack Truck. Did everyone's hatred and negative thoughts about him actually lead to his death?

If positive prayer can heal, can negative prayer hurt? It would seem to me that the answer is logical. If the power of prayer can do one thing, cannot it do the opposite? Maybe therein lies the lesson that we need to learn to forgive people of their trespasses against us.

You know, she was possessed by mental and physical demons beyond my ability to control. Yet, the goodness in her shined out many times and many ways. Do I have the right to condemn her to death because her soul is trapped in a physical body that had problems?

With all of the hatred in the world today, where religions, politicians, ethnic groups.. you name it... where everyone builds their animosities toward each other, is there any ultimate end to all of this beside annihilation of ourselves and each other? When the last shot is fired or that last bomb goes off, who is going to be left to forgive anyone?

Well, in final retrospect, I guess that there will then be no one left to blame.

Who IS To Blame For The Way Things Are?

I just had two missionaries come knocking at my door and, after I gracefully declined their quest and they left, I got angry. I got angry not because I did the right thing and displayed respect to them in my “turn away,” but because I know they must have had doors literally slammed in their faces that day. And therein lays the focus of this diatribe.

This country has often been referred to as the “melting pot” of the world. Legal immigrants from virtually every corner of the planet have come to the promised land of freedom and democracy, bringing with them differing languages, ethnicities, religions and skin colors. And it worked, because we all learned to practice respect for each other as human beings and tolerance for differing ideologies and backgrounds.

Tolerance and respect have gone. Screw you and your damned crosses, get them out of my sight! Chase the Marines out of Berkeley and show the rest of the country that we don’t like their war! Hey, asshole! You cut me off! Bang, bang, you’re dead. I wouldn’t vote for a Mormon OR a Catholic! I don’t care if they ARE nice people; they’re rag-heads and they should leave the country. Who CARES what he thinks? He’s only a waiter! Damned missionaries oughta be someplace else prayin’ and not at my door!

Where did this all start? Maybe it was the Clintons and their snobbish disregard for the Secret Service and White House staff? (Just as a side note, if anyone thinks that Obama would be a good Vice President for Hillary, they don’t understand the Clintons and they don’t understand southern bigotry. The Clintons wouldn’t allow Barack Obama in the White House at all, unless he was there to shine shoes).

This self-centered disrespect and intolerance is fueling hatred and turmoil in this nation. Hatred and turmoil lead to civil unrest and disobedience and ultimately to an overthrow of government. The constant carping and backbiting in Washington that we are all dismayed about exemplifies the subject of this post.

We all need to stop, draw a deep breath, and remember the teachings of our parents and theirs before them…. Show some respect. Practice tolerance.

Otherwise, WE are to blame for allowing the disrespect and intolerance to continue unchecked!

We ARE To Blame

WE are the government of the United States of America. What goes wrong or right in this country is OUR fault, and nobody else's.

So, when we look with disdain upon what has been happening in Washington over the last 19 years since Reagan, and when we say that Congress isn't doing it's job and Congress is too busy with partisan politics... When we point our finger at a President and complain about the way he is running the country..... We are really trying to shift the blame from ourselves to them.

But, WE are to blame.

The time has come when we have to come to grips with reality. And, the reality is that we, as empowered citizens of this country, can no longer afford the luxury of electing someone to office and then ignoring what he or she does. That is, we need to use our resources as Americans, and we do have a lot more of them with the Internet, to find out exactly what the people we elect are doing in Washington.

The time has come for us to hold them accountable for standing up for the principles they espoused to us in the campaign circuit.... to pay attention to how they are conducting business... our business... in Washington.

Who in their right mind would want to run for the Presidency or Congress if they have sound principles and good ideas.... and their constituencies won't pay attention to what is going on in Washington and back them up? So, the good guys don't run and the bad guys do, and what choice does that leave us with?

We have no one to blame but ourselves, and we need to do something about it. As Americans, we need to step up to the plate.

Now.

New Math: Rx For Failure

I went to Rite Aid Pharmacy to get a prescription filled. Price? $87 and change..... $81 and change with a "Seniors Discount."

I went to AARP and purchased their prescription plan for $28.00 per month.

I want back to Rite Aid and got my prescription filled for $30.00.

Duh?

Who's to blame for this nonsense?

The Main Reason This Country Is Falling Apart

Is that we CHRISTIANS won't stand up for OUR beliefs, OUR morals, and the fundamental principles that OUR country was founded on!

And that's a fact, pure and simple.

OnStar.... Another Federal Boodoggle

OnStar service relies on analog cellular technology that cannot be readily replaced in the tens of thousands of U.S. cars whose manufacturers have been touting the gimmick for several years. The FCC is ordering analog cell service to shut down early in 2008, which means that the OnStar Service is going bye-bye.

There's such a law as truth in advertising. The auto firms ballyhooing OnStar in order to boost car sales never mentioned the forthcoming demise.

Whose job is it to enforce truth in advertising laws on the airwaves? The FCC, of course.

I'll bet that fact never hits the airwaves, because the FCC will insist they're not to blame.

US Military Desertion Rate Goes Up In Iraq

We sent them there to win, then the politicians put restrictions on what they can and cannot do. We didn't provide them with the right equipment to do the job. We extended their tours and made them double back. Then, we pounded them with threats of withdrawing their funding, making them pull out without victory, and demonstrations on American streets calling them rotten names.

Now, with troops deserting, I'm sure Washington will want to hang those guys. Washington should be ashamed of itself. THEY are the ones to blame.

Signs

When we become oblivious to signs that things are changing, numb to the pain that changes might bring, and cavalier enough to pretend that we are superior and therefore invulnerable, we stand in the shadow of darkness.

I do not believe that there is a single one of us who is happy with the world as it is, or the place in which we individually find ourselves today. All of us want for more. It is only in the things that we want that we differ. Regardless of these surmises, all we have to seek is the knowledge that the world and the basics of our existence are changing; we need to analyze how these changes are going to affect us today and our children in the future.

Some change is subtle. Nevertheless, all change is discernible if properly examined.

Global warming is no longer fiction; the facts seem to indicate that we are on a collision course with human disaster. And, although I'll be called a lunatic for saying so, visits from extraterrestials have been too numerously recorded to be ignored; they portend some inevitable change to our lives and very existence.

There are countless other signs of daily change that we ignore or fail to see.

Neither my message nor point is elusive. We must become attuned to the world around us and to the changes that are occurring, to determine our future, to lay plans to be prepared for it. Otherwise, we will be to blame for whatever it is that will happen.

How COULD We Be To Blame? We All Have Alzheimers!

Just a quick refresher course lest we forget what has happened to many"friends" of the Clintons.

1-James McDougal - Clinton's convicted Whitewater partner died of an apparent heart attack, while in solitary confinement. He was a keywitness in Ken Starr's investigation.

2 -Mary Mahoney - A former White House intern was murdered July 1997at a Starbucks Coffee Shop in Georgetown. The murder happened just after she was to go public with her story of sexual harassment in the White House.

3- Vince Foster - Former White House counselor and colleague of Hillary Clinton at Little Rock's Rose Law firm. Died of a gunshot wound to the head, ruled a suicide.

4- Ron Brown - Secretary of Commerce and former DNC Chairman. Reported to have died by impact in a plane crash. A pathologist close to the investigation reported that there was a hole in the top of Brown's skull resembling a gunshot wound. At the time of his death Brown was being investigated and spoke publicly of his willingness to cut a deal with prosecutors. Brown's body was ordered cremated before an autopsy could be completed. The rest of the people on the plane also died. A few days later the air Traffic controller committed suicide.

27-Kevin Ives & Don Henry - Known as "The boys on the track" case. Reports say the boys may have stumbled upon the Mena Arkansas airport drug operation. A controversial case, the initial report of death said "due to falling asleep on railroad tracks." Later reports claim the 2 boys had been slain before being placed on the tracks. Many linked to the case died before their testimony could come before a Grand Jury. THE FOLLOWING PERSONS HAD INFORMATION ON THE IVES/HENRY CASE:
28-Keith Coney - Died when his motorcycle slammed into the back of a truck, 7/88.
29-Keith McMaskle - Died stabbed 113 times, Nov, 1988
30-Gregory Collins - Died from a gunshot wound January 1989.

THE CLINTONS AGAIN: Are We Really Ready For This?

She's not even been officially elected yet and it has already started. First, it was the Hsu thing with the $850,000 in illegal campaign contributions that she says she is going to return. Has she?

Then, it was sneaking Sandy Berger into her campaign management. Remember good-old-boy Sandy, the former National Security Advisor for Billy who got caught stealing documents after Bush took office?

Now, it comes out that Hillary listened to secretly recorded cell-phone conversations involving political enemies. As recently as August, Clinton was advocating for the rights of people to sue if their phone conversations are illegally intercepted.

I often wondered if any of Billy's misfeasances and malfeasances were deliberately manufactured in order to cover up dirtier deeds. Not that it matters. What DOES matter is that the political stars have already lined up enough for us to forecast that it's going to be eight more years of the same old tripe.

Do I sound as if her election is a "done deal?" What makes you think it isn't? As it stands today, on this day.... There's no one in the race, Democrat or Republican, who can stop her. Unless she stumbles, and her well-organized team is not likely to let that happen, it IS a done deal. And, I'll guarantee you.... within 30 days of her coronation, you and 90% of the rest of this country are going to be insisting that you never voted for her.... the same percentage 30 days after Billy's inauguration.

So, that means that, already, we're not to blame?

America Deserves Eight More Years of Political Suicide

For eight years, we endured the endless scandals, twists and turns of the Clintons. We were enthralled and breathless as story after story unfolded on the front pages of Time, Newsweek, and the Washington Post, retold with salacious and exciting detail on the evening news. Whitewater, Rose Law Firm, Presidential dalliances, Chinese political donations, accusations of murder, and stained dresses. Remember..... Most people don't, for one reason or another... the big sigh of relief this nation felt when the inventor of the word "is" moved out of the White House, flavored cigars and all?

How dull it has been for these last eight years. Oh, Bush mismanaged the nation's economy at the start, but 9/11 bailed him out of his lackadaisical leadership record. Then, he badly bungled Iraq... But there were no really gut wrenching, eyes-glued-to-the-TV stories during Bush's terms, such as those provided by the Clintons.

So, why would it not be a natural to forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater mistakes of the future? Let's get Hillary and Bill and Chelsea and Monica and the gang back at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Make my predicitions of ten years ago come true. And, let's get our attention back off international relations and back on the next story to unfold, as well as the question of whether or not Monica really intends to wear that famous dress to the inaugural ball?

My God, don't you really wish you lived in France?
