RUSSIA TO KERRY: UP YOURS

Secretary of State John Kerry asked Putin to quit bombing Syrian civilians so that humanitarian aid could be delivered to starving and injured citizens.  Putin responded by sending in Russia's most advanced warplanes, Su-35S's, capable of air-to-air and air-to-ground missions.

Despite backing two U.N. resolutions in support of a ceasefire, Russia reneged on its promise to stop bombing the civilians in Syria, a prerequisite for the U.N.-backed peace talks in Geneva.  Kerry predicted Tuesday in Rome that there will be a ceasefire.  “We expect a ceasefire. And we expect adherence to the ceasefire. And we expect full humanitarian access.”  Two days later, the Russian bombing hasn’t stopped and thousands of Syrians remain starving.

I would surmise that, due to our country's previous demonstrations of strength and determination a la Obama, Putin knows that he can flip Obama and Kerry off and we won't do anything about it.

Now, who's to blame for that?
