The left-wing establishment, ticked off that Obama has not been able to tighten own gun control in the U.S. or to eliminate gun ownership entirely, has developed a new tactic. Grabbing onto the generally accepted theory that mass gun crimes are committed by mentally disturbed people, the leftists now want to establish laws requiring all gun purchases to be approved by doctors.
Sounds good? The proposal neglects to point out that doctors will be falling under ObamaCare guidelines which will open the door for the government to declare gun ownership a national mental health crisis, thereby allowing the government to seize guns to prevent runaway "epidemics."
Personally, I think we need to own guns to protect ourselves from runaway leftist lunacy. It could well be that their "stoking of the fire" is the root cause of mass gun shootings; who knows? One thing for certain is that they don't want to address the real societal issues which lead to violence of any kind, from stabbings, to beatings, to aggressive driving and to shootings. Perhaps they are afraid that, in the final analysis, the decay of our social norms should be blamed on communistic, leftist agendas.
In short, they would be well-advised to see their own doctors... proctologists, of course.
