THE MAGNIFICENT REPUBLICANS

I was sitting somberly behind the keyboard at the close of 2010 and the precipice of 2011 and wondering what to write for a blog post between Christmas and New Years,  when the phone rang and put me out of my quandary. Yes, it was the wondrous Republican National Committee asking for money.

Now, I am a registered Republican. That’s probably why they called me instead of James Carville. And, right off the bat, the lady goes into a pious speech about what great gains the Republicans made in 2010, how they have the Democrats on the run and how they are going to save the nation. Good God, have the dragon slayers on white horses finally arrived at the scene?

Let’s get a few things straight. Let’s have a few reminders about the illustrious Republican Party. Let’s go back to the years of George H.W. Bush who took over a nation that was almost ticking like a clock, single-handedly turned the economy upside down and got us into a battle in Iraq that did not accomplish what should have been accomplished: Hussein should have been finished off then. There’s four years of Republican shame, as far as I am concerned.

Let’s mention Bill Clinton, not because he was a Republican, but because he was a President who ended up with a Republican do-nothing Congress. Then, along came George W. Bush, a nice guy who single-handedly turned the economy upside down again and, with a Republican-controlled Congress led us into a war with Iraq that did not produce the weapons of mass destruction but did, finally, get Hussein. That was his chief claim of accomplishment, although his historians are also claiming he kept us safe from another massive terrorist attack. Well sorry, folks; he did not do that. Thousands of men and women in the CIA, FBI, NSA and DHS did that.

Then, along came Obama. When his term first started, what few Republicans were in Congress rolled over and played along until the fire in the belly of Americans started to bellow; they then started, with a small and timid voice, to protest what was going on in Washington. It was only when millions of Americans stood up and started demanding an end to “business as usual” and some fiscal responsibility in Washington that the Republicans finally started to stand up against the establishment.

But, it was the people who got this ball rolling, not the Republicans.

The distinguished Republican National Committee, in the meanwhile, was busying itself with junkets to topless bars and grope joints in southern California. They had absolutely nothing to do with the November election results; the Tea Party and millions of ticked-off Americans did, however. How the RNC can have the utter audacity to suggest that the Republicans have turned into guiltless leaders of the future simply because we Americans stood up and started putting an end to “business as usual” is beyond me.

Here’s where I stand. Depending on how the Republicans handle themselves during the next 12 months, I might consider helping them in 2012. They are not going to get one damned dime of my money until I see the color of their testicles, because their record in Washington over the past 20 years has been far less than venerable. As far as I am concerned, they are almost as much to blame for letting this country down as the Democrats. They are going to have to earn my trust back. If they don’t step up to the plate and do just that, they can say goodbye to their marvelous party as far as I am concerned.

IRS WISHES YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS

SPECIAL POST

Oozing out of the Washington cellars on Christmas Eve, no less, came the news that IRS refund checks will be delayed six to seven weeks this year.  They blame it on the late vote in Congress, but here's my question: if we ended up with the same rates we had last year, why the big delay this year?  Is it, like, they have to redo their charts?  Do they use computers for this, or parchment paper?

Government keeps feeding us this steady diet of lies and bullshit; when will we learn?

HERE'S HOPING

That those who are to blame didn't get a Christmas gift this year.

GESTAPO SEIZING INTERNET

The United States Congress voted not to stick its Federal nose into the Internet. Courts have ruled that the Feds must stay out of it. Nevertheless, the Federal Communications Commission, under the direction of the Obama Administration, is now determined to seize control of the Internet.

You know and I know that the freedom of the Internet is directly responsible for allowing our country to communicate its ideas and beliefs through emails, blogs and websites. This freedom of the Internet and the exchange of ideas played a key role in the 2010 elections. Now, we have an agency that has proven itself to be grossly mismanaged, particularly when it comes to the media, poised to insert itself into the equation.

FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski, a political appointee and Harvard Law classmate of President Barack Obama, is leading the FCC’s charge for new powers over the Internet so it can enact a policy known as “net neutrality.” In reality, the policy will limit consumer choice while granting the federal government unprecedented power over the Internet, power that could force bloggers like me to allow equal time to opposing views on my blogs, in spite of the fact that all someone has to do to find a view opposing mine is to Google “anti-American” and they will have a plethora of opinion available to them.

In recent months, the Feds have shut down thousands of websites without Court hearings or orders and without giving the websites and blogs the ability to defend themselves. The Feds have said they were terrorist websites or selling counterfeit items or violating copyrights, but they don’t have to prove that? New proposed powers will give them the power to shut blogs such as mine down, or to require me to pay a license fee or pass some bureaucratic test before I can voice my opinion.

These actions run contrary to every principle of liberty upon which this great country was founded. We, the people, need to make ourselves heard loud and clear again. This move by the FCC makes the Health Care Plan look like child’s play. If we don’t stand up and raise hell, we will be to blame for losing another aspect of our freedom, freedom fought and paid for with the blood of our forefathers.

Send an email to your Congressman today.

HOW'S YOUR DIET?

SPECIAL POST

There must be 1,000 surveys out there with the same question: “Do you believe you are better off this year than at the same time last year?”

You have a tendency to answer that question in economic terms only, but I think it encompasses more than just that. The question might better be several questions: “How do you feel about the following aspects of your life this year compared to the same time last year?”

  • Economy
  • Jobs
  • National Security
  • Congress
  • The Future
In just those issues, we’ve been declining in confidence since about 2007, maybe even 2006. However, there are those out there in the audience who are saying they things are going to get better in 2012. Here’s my take:

While the stock market has been going up, I think the overall economy will stay the same or get worse in 2011.

The jobs situation is going to get decidedly worse in 2011, with unemployment reaching as high as 15% when state and local governments are forced to lay off in order to balance budgets and pay for federally imposed unfunded mandates.

National Security is very scary. Remember that we have a President who wanted to prosecute CIA agents over GITMO, who had his back pushed to the wall before he agreed to surge in Afghanistan and who bows to foreign leaders in subservience as opposed to standing tall and erect in a position of power. We have North Korea to deal with, as well as Iran, Afghanistan, Iraq, Mexico and terrorism and it does not seem to me that we have leadership capable of handling all of these details.

Congress? Here’s a bright spot, I think, especially considering how the lame duck session is ending with the renewal of the tax cuts, the downright defeat of a pork-laden Omnibus spending bill, and the solid failure of the “Dream Act.” We haven’t gotten rid of all of the ugly crap in Washington, but I feel a breath of fresh air and the possibility that our message is finally getting through. Who knows, in 2012 we just might finally take our country back.

As for the future, I think it is overall going to get worse before it gets better, but I do think it will get better. Truly, the future is in our hands; it’s up to us. If we can continue to stay aware of what is going on in our country and to overtly speak our minds, we have a fighting chance of turning back the tide of government arrogance and elitism that has come so close to destroying our country. It’s like your weight; you can go weeks and months without being vigilant about what you eat but, when it comes time to trim off the fat, it’s difficult as all get out.

We have to stay vigilant.

DESPICABLE CONGRESSIONAL TRICKS

While the nation has been focused on the extension of the Bush Tax Cuts and extension of unemployment benefits, the Democratic controlled Congress has been quietly working in the background to advance a new omnibus spending bill that calls for $1.1 trillion in new government spending for a total $3.5 trillion budget. The bill is 1,924 pages long, had not been read by anybody, and has some 20,000 earmarks.  No wonder they are trying to rush this through both houses without the benefit of floor debate.

Plans are to ramp up the "business as usual" system and cram this through within the next three days.

The country has made its opinion of this type of activity clearly known.  Poll after poll after poll shows that we are totally ticked off at a Congress that is enjoying an 11% approval rating.  The November elections spoke volumes about how we feel about this government and what it is doing to our country.  Yet, the Democrats who currently control both houses of Congress as well as the White House have made it abundantly clear that they do not give a damn.

You know, I'm sorry that I suggested that anyone vote for a Democrat at all.  These guys are raping and pillaging our country; it is obvious that they intend to leave the country in a shambles when they exit in January.  While I have been no lover of the Republican Party, the conduct being put forth by the Democrats right now is beyond the pale.  Not only are they destroying the country, they are destroying the Democratic Party.

I think that the majority of Americans know fully well right now who is to blame for the mess we are allowing to engulf us.  I think we're getting more angry every day; in fact, I think things are in danger of getting ugly.

ARE WE TO BLAME FOR THE CONSTITUTION?

Judges throughout the country have taken the attitude that circumstances change and that, therefore, the Constitution has to be a fluid document that changes with the time.  They reserve the right to interpret those changes for themselves.

The framers of the Constitution knew that things change with time and they provided that the Constitution could therefore be changed through the Amendment process; there is no language that authorizes the Judiciary to rewrite or alter the meaning of the Constitution through a contemporary interpretation.  After all, the function of the judiciary is to apply the Constitution as it stands and the function of the legislative branch is to write the laws in conformity with the Constitution.

The Constitution is ours, not theirs.  It belongs to the governed and not to the government.  Yet, there are those in all three branches of government who look sternly down their noses and seize for themselves the right to tell us what the Constitution says or should say.  It's almost as if they blame us for the Constitutional dictates that get in the way of their individual agendas.

THE UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION ENIGMA

In my day, say about 12 years ago, if you were on unemployment you had to file a weekly report showing at least three people at three different jobs you applied for and what the results were. These days, all you have to do is say that you have been looking for work. Today, you have the Republicans pushing for an end to extensions for unemployment compensation and you have Democrats insisting that everyone be covered until the end of time.

I firmly believe that every person who is out of work through no fault of his own and who is actively looking for a job should have some unemployment compensation. So, what’s wrong with asking them to show at least three places where they have applied, including a signature and company tax identification numbers? This could be subject to spot checks by the IRS, since they now have total power of the Gestapo anyway.

As a matter of conjecture, the day may be close at hand when an I.R.S. auditor moves in with you so he can keep you honest.

Would that not resolve all issues? Why is it not being done?

You have a President who wants to do away with tax deductions for charitable contributions. The fact is that the rich, the ones he is trying to soak in the Bush Tax Cut controversy, give substantial amounts to charitable organizations which in turn meet most of the demands for help for the poor and the unemployed. No one is going to get rich off of $400 or so per week in unemployment benefits; they need all of the help they can get. There’s no law that says debt collectors have to back off if you are on unemployment.

Yet, and I agree, there are those who will scam the system and not look for work as long as they have some income; by and large, they are left-wing extremists who are trying to change this country to their way of thinking.  But, the answer is not to discourage charitable donations or to totally cut off unemployment extensions. The answer is to find out where the real need is and to address it.

I know that I am barking in the wind, but why can’t we set politics aside and work together to find realistic solutions to today’s problems? Those in charge are to blame because they just simply don’t care.

I must be right because there has been no progress...zero, zilch and nada, toward meaningful job creation programs in two years, not even after this "compromise" that doesn't address the problems, but simply kicks the can down the road. You know it and I know it.

ILLIGITIMI NON CARBORUNDUM

SPECIAL POST

Sometimes, with all of the crappy things our government has been up to… Sometimes, when they do these things in the face of public outrage, you just have to wonder what their game plan is. Here they are, just after having the worst shellacking in American political history, and they’re acting as if they are high potentates sitting on thrones and ruling the lower class.

In recent days, I’ve heard several people ask who the President is listening to. I don’t think he listens to Michelle… he certainly doesn’t listen to America. I’ve heard another several people come out and say they think Obama is doing what he feels is best for the country.

Let ME make it clear; Obama doesn’t do anything that doesn’t further his own distorted agenda. And all of the rest of the bimbos in his party conduct themselves in the same manner.

Traditionally, what happens in this country is that we Americans get our backs up about something and the politicians temporarily back down until we cool off, then they go ahead and do what they intended in the first place. What’s different now is that we Americans are not cooling off. Their old tricks of wearing us down and wearing us down until they get their ways are not working.

So, they have become dysfunctional. The fabric of their security blanket of self-created Washington culture is wearing thin. In the waning hours of their lame duck session, they are trying to get their way again, but the outcry of public opinion is not dying down. And, obviously, they don’t know how to deal with the situation.

Illigitimi non carborundum. Don’t let the bastards grind you down. We ARE taking back our country.

FEDS VIOLATE CONSTITUTION AGAIN

The news in July was that the Obama Administration had shut down 73,000 blogs. That story got covered up and died almost overnight. The official line was that the blogs were using purloined video and copyrighted content illegally. Now comes the latest assault on the Internet: the Department of Homeland Security has shut down 82 websites for allegedly selling counterfeit merchandise and copyrighted materials.

My initial reaction is: What does Homeland Security have to do with this? Doesn’t this fall under the territory of the Justice Department?

Let me say that I don’t think that blogs or websites which use copyrighted materials without permission or sell counterfeit merchandise should be allowed to stay on the Internet. However, there is the presumed right of the accused to have a hearing or a day in Court. There is the right called Freedom of the Press. The government can’t take a person’s property without due process.

Once again, these principles have not only been violated, but Administration officials are trumpeting their successes. None of those who lost their blogs or websites had a hearing of any kind. Presumably, some obscure government official in some obscure office in some obscure building popped up and said that these guys were violating the law and needed to be shut down. Remember the hordes of automobile dealerships that were forced to shut down last year without hearings and without recourse?

Does this not sound like Marxism, Communism, and the Gestapo?

The manner in which these actions are being undertaken is totally against every brick in the foundation of our national liberties. If they can use Homeland Security to shut down a website, they can use the new Health Care Plan to deny you medical care because you voted the wrong way. Do you suppose that the next move will be to shut down Fox News?

OBAMA REALLY HAS BEEN A GREAT PRESIDENT

SPECIAL POST

If you will recall, one of the first moves Obama made was to try and make the military pay for their own insurance and to make the injured GI’s coming home from active duty pay for their own medical care. If that doesn't make your Thanksgiving turkey come back up, nothing will.

How quickly we forget.

I KNOW OBAMA DOESN'T GIVE A DAMN

There are millions of Americans out of work, many of them for two years or longer.  The Obama Administration has done virtually nothing about the problem except to give it lip service.  Add to this problem those who have been forced to take drastic pay cuts or reduced hours and you have a nation filled with people who wonder where their next meal is going to come from or whether they will have a roof over their heads when Christmas comes.

Maybe Obama doesn't give a damn, but I do.  The traditional sources of help are facing a double whammy: they have dwindling contributions because people just don't have money to give, and they have an increasing need for the services they provide.  I know that I may be asking you to give up a six pack or two of beer or the movies next week.  But, on behalf of those who are hungry and/or without shelter through no fault of their own, I beg of you to consider dropping off a turkey or a few cans of food, even a $25 contribution.

God knows we are at each others' throats in this country, but this is the season when we need to reach deep into our souls and find the heart to share with others what little we have left to share.

To you and your family and friends, have a Happy Thanksgiving and drive carefully.

CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS DON'T GET IT, EITHER

SPECIAL POST

All of us need to have charity in our hearts.  But, sometimes being charitable gets downright annoying.

Three charities have recently sent me requests for donations and included either a nickel, a quarter or a dollar.  These campaigns go out to millions of people at a time.  How many people are there in this country, anyway?  So, let's be conservative and say 10 million pieces of mail go out with a nickel in each; that's $500,000 in nickles plus the cost of the postage at 28 cents a piece...$2,800,000 for a total of $3,300,000 they spent trying to get my contribution.  Oh, and plus printing costs and admin expenses, let's say a paltry $200,000 more, or $3,500,000 for one mailing.  Some agencies mail three or four of these requests a year, or more, and to more people.  If they send a quarter or a dollar... well, we're talking serious money here.

Take the American Cancer Society.  They are certainly a worthy organization on the face of it; last year, I sent them $35.00 as a donation.  This year, I received requests from the local organization, the county, the state, and national on a weekly basis!  Then, I started to get telephone calls and, when I complained about why they are calling me, they try to tell me I gave them permission when I donated.  As worthy as they may be, they are annoying beyond words and have been crossed off my list.

Now, they all seem to share names and addresses.  All of the sudden, I am receiving 30 to 40 pieces of mail per week from charities I never even heard of.  I've tried to shut this stuff off, to no avail.  In some cases, I have contributed and then received a "thank you" along with a pleading, "Can't you give just $25.00 more?  Think of the good it will do."

Frankly, they have worn out their welcome.  If they have dwindling revenues, they have no one to blame but themselves.  My money is now going to local charities only, the ones who don't have the kind of money it takes to run one of these national campaigns.

THEY HAD BETTER GET THE MESSAGE THIS TIME

To make it short, we all know that the country is in an economic mess and that our debt is going to doom this nation unless we do something about it. We can’t do it by decreasing spending; we can’t do it by raising revenues. To get us out of this mess which, by the way we did not create, but they did, we need to do both.

Now comes the newly elected cavalry that we selected to lead us out of this mess and the first words out of the Republicans collective mouth is… “We’re not cutting defense.” Then, the Democrats say, “We’re not cutting entitlements.”

Well, if they’re not going to clean up this mess they created, I think they’re all going to be out on the streets looking for work in two more years, so something had better give.

The defense budget CAN be cut and cut plenty. Our young men and women in the military have proven over and over again that they can step up to the plate that our leaders in Washington seem so willing to back away from. And, we don’t need all of these entitlements; we need jobs. We need to get people back to work and we need to rebuild the national pride of America.

Our President is obviously unwilling to do anything. He has taken no steps to create jobs in the two years he has been in office and he just blew an opportunity in South Korea to create 90,000 jobs through a trade deal that he managed to scuttle at the last minute. He refuses to reconsider his damned health care plan and he is dead set on raising taxes.

All that this posturing amounts to is more of the same old bullshit politics that have flat incensed Americans in every corner of the country for the last two years. The newly elected talked a good game, as did those who managed to hang on to their seats. Now is the time to crap or get off the potty. They are required to stand up for America and do the job we elected them to do, or they will most certainly pay the penalty.

Let the dance begin and we’ll see who is still left standing when the music stops.

CAN ONE MAN BRING DOWN OUR COUNTRY?

SPECIAL POST

The time has come when one man has enough power in this world to bring down governments, cause international economic chaos, and ruin lives.  Even more unacceptable is the fact that this individual has chose to do just those things.

George Soros openly admits to having brought four countries to their knees.  He says that, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, people started referring to Russia as being Soros' Russia.  He has claimed the destruction of the Kenyan government and economy, among other things.  More recently, Soros has set his sites on the destruction of the government of the United States, and he has openly said so.  He intends to use his powerful influence on the media, the unions and politicians in this country to cause economic disturbance, citizen unrest, and a growing dissatisfaction with our central government.

He also also made no bones about wanting Glenn Beck off the air.  Beck has recently been connecting the dots to the various organizations and associations that are owned and operated by Soros, all with seemingly benign names and professed patriotic objectives.  This has raised the blood pressure of Soros to the point that he has called upon various Jewish organizations to denounce Beck and demand his firing.  Before airing these latest connections, Beck turned his information and research over to the legal beagles at Fox and had them thoroughly go through the material to verify its authenticity.

One of the stories is about how Soros as a young Jewish boy got his start in life by pretending to be a Christian and helping to send his Jewish neighbors off to death camps, a biographical fact to which Soros Sorrows camp and Soros never loses.  In fact, Soros says he gets a kick out of doing these things and watching the result, which he himself has admitted in his writings.  The Jewish organizations are complaining that Beck's outing of this information, already in the public realm, is reprehensible.

Now, we have open warfare against Beck by those organizations and Soros.  The man is bound and determined to bring our country down.  He admits it.  He practically owns the unions in this country and many of the politicians.  There is already national unrest and only 17% of Americans think Congress is doing its job satisfactorily; the trap may already be ready to spring.  According to Beck, one of the methods employed by Soros is to get those in the position to do so to print money and destroy the value of the currency. Hello!

Fox News has come out and firmly defended Beck against the Jewish organizations that are calling for his ouster.  Soros is ready to withdraw his funding contributions to those organizations unless they do what he says.

Anytime anyone accumulates so much wealth and power that he has the ability to bring down nations and destroy lives, and anytime that individual sets out to do harm with that wealth and power, we need to bring him down.  Bill Gates has wealth and power, and he uses it for notably charitable philanthropy.  Just because you have acquired wealth and power does not mean you have to be the bad guy.  But, when you're the bad guy, you need to be dealt with promptly and forcefully.  His ties to the unions, the media and the politicians of this country must be immediately severed.

OLD GUARD WANTS NEWLY ELECTED TO SHUT UP AND DO AS THEY ARE TOLD

Well, I wondered if anyone would ever bring the subject up and already they have. You see, we have a lot of fresh new faces in Congress starting in January. Some a Democrat and some are Republican, but these new faces were all elected because the public was disenchanted with their predecessors and they presented to the public the best opportunity to change the way things are done in Washington.

Now comes the suggestion that the “establishment,” those entrenched Members of Congress who managed to hang on to their jobs, will be quick to let the new guys know “how things are done in Washington.” In other words, it’s going to be like a fraternity hazing and, when it’s all said and done, the new guys had better do what the old guys say, or else the new guys are not going to get anywhere with their agendas and, presumably, a dissatisfied electorate will vote them out in 2012.

You can almost visualize Nancy and Harry calling the new guys in for lunch and then pulling out the rule books. It brings back memories of the days when they were calling in recalcitrant Members, twisting arms, offering bribes and making outright threats in order to get votes for the Health Care Bill. Such nostalgia simply brings tears to my eyes. In other words, the word “American” is just as foreign to those bums now as it was before the election; they still don’t give a damn what Americans think, or want.

Frankly, their continued arrogance in the face of a ticked off America restokes the fire within me that says we have to start now to engineer the departure of the remaining “old guys” in 2012. We cannot draw a deep breath and relax; we cannot go to sleep tonight with the thought in mind that they have learned their lessons because, obviously, they have not. Now that we have come this far, we will certainly be to blame if we do not finish the job off.

We can take advantage of the next few weeks to rebuild the energy in the Tea Parties and to invigorate the grass roots movements. We can start selecting more new and qualified candidates to replace those stubborn incumbents who refuse to listen to our demands for a better government and we can begin grooming them for political office. To do less is to open the door to going back to the way things have been in Washington for far too many years.

WHO HAS THE MANDATE NOW?

Before anyone takes a bow and starts talking about how great they are and that’s why they got the vote… before any political party starts talking about how terrific the results were for them and what they are going to do or not do over the next two years…. Let’s get one thing straight: the only winners here are the people and the people have said loud and clear that they are tired of “politics as usual.” They are tired of the relentless spending when they themselves are out of work or on declined wages. They are fearful of the national debt and what it means for their grandchildren. They are upset with the passing of the unread stimulus bill and highly unpopular health care bill. They are resentful at being ignored and told to shut up.

Those who remain in office can consider themselves damned lucky and they had better well understand the message: change your method of doing things or you will be next to hit the street; 2012 is just around the corner. For those who just won a new office, understand that you have the job mostly because the people don’t like the job that your predecessor did and, unless you listen to what the people have to say and react accordingly, you too will be tossed back out; so, don’t get too comfortable in your new office digs, regardless of your political party.

No one got a mandate except the people, and the people’s mandate is to keep a sharp eye on the politicians going forward and to pay attention to what they say and what they do. No one expects this situation we are in to get better tomorrow, but we do expect that those we elected will roll up their sleeves and start to take proactive measures to get people back to work. We expect the mess created in the first two years to be mitigated, and promptly.

Those who are being turned out will undoubtedly have the urge to stick it to the voters who turned them out and to pass crappy legislation before the year is out. This is all about punishing your enemies while you still can. If that happens, there will be hell to pay.

Let’s be clear: The American public is not to blame for what has happened, and if the politicians in all of their high and mighty arrogance don’t get that message, our anger will not subside.

SICK AND TIRED OF BLAME GAME

SPECIAL POST

I have finally had it up to HERE with the damned blame game. Yes, the Republicans did a lot of bad things; that in no way elevates Obama and his damned far-left Democrats to the level of pious angels. Yet, to hear them tell the story, they are the true demigods of the world, all-seeing, all-knowing mortals with infinite wisdom to lead us, the lowly pissants, away from our miseries.

These are the guys who lied, lied, and lied about how many jobs were being saved, who did absolutely nothing to create jobs and gave nothing but lip service to the subject, who left millions of people sinking into the abyss of poverty while losing their homes, their cars, and their self-respect. These are the guys who looked deep into the American conscience, called us “Astroturf” and fear mongers and passed the Health Care Bill from hell regardless of how we felt about it. These are the guys who tried to put the skids on senior citizens. These are the guys who escalated our national debt and mortgaged the lives of our grandchildren and who are now anxious to mortgage the lives of their children.

Now, faced with an angry electorate, they blame Bush, they blame talk radio, they blame Fox, they blame the Tea Party, they blame the Republicans and they blame the urinal in Glenn Beck’s bathroom.

I am sick and tired of people in this country who only stand up to take bows for the good things they manage to do, and who shuck and duck and blame others for their misdeeds, mistakes and pure lack of judgment and self-control.

If you can’t stand the heat for your own bullshit, get out of the damned kitchen.

DON'T BE TO BLAME

One short week, seven days from now, we’ll be scratching our heads at some of the political races which were lost and we’ll be singing in jubilation at some of the races which were won. Pundits will be prognosticating and the talking heads will be running amok. Hopefully, those of us who have a deep and undying love and respect for our American heritage will be drawing a deep breath and reaffirming our beliefs as we prepare to work together to move the country further toward the restoration of liberty, justice and democracy for all. That, however, can only happen if each and every one of us votes on November 2nd.

Never before in the history of our great nation have we been faced with an election of more importance, for we are literally at the crossroads of democracy and Marxist socialism. In this election, I truly believe we will be making the choice as to which road we will follow and what the future of our country will be. Judging by the radically left turn and the loss of individual liberties which has occurred in the previous two years, one can only presume that an unchallenged or unfettered continuation of the same will result in the total “change” that Obama envisions.

Just over two years ago, before the last election, I warned of the things which actually occurred in 2009 and 2010 should Obama and his cohorts win. Looking back, I have to say that I now believe I under-estimated the situation.

I also predicted that, under Obama’s plan, the nation would be transitioned enough by the end of his first term that he would be able to seize control of the country and we would be unable to stop him. I still believe that is true and that he has made substantial progress toward achieving that goal.

That is what this election is really all about, and that is the reason why you must vote and vote with the future of America at the forefront of your thoughts. Millions of Americans who voted the wrong way in the last election now regret it. Don’t be to blame for another mistake. Vote for America; vote American.

THEY’RE BACK TO BRIBING VOTES WITH OUR MONEY

Remember when good old Harry and Nancy were buying votes in the Senate and in the House to get the Health Care Plan passed…with our money? Remember Ben Nelson and Mary Landrieu and who knows who else, and all of the dirty tricks being pulled to get the Bill passed whether we wanted it or not?

Well, even with all of the ticked off voters jumping up and down in protest, they have not learned their lesson. In fact, they’re doing it again. The only difference is that this time, they are bribing US with our own money. This all sure takes gall.

Seniors, although Obama swore an oath to the contrary, are faced with substantially higher medical costs next year. In many cases, plans are being modified, deductibles and co-pays are going up and premiums are rising as well. With these added burdens, seniors are faced with a somewhat moderated rise in the cost of living; but it is still supposed to be covered by an increase in Cost of Living Adjustment, (COLA). For the second year in a row, Congress chose to freeze benefits, which means that seniors will be living at the 2009 level of income in 2011.

And, they’re being vocal about their shaft on the campaign trail. Candidates for re-election are hearing the message loud and clear, but they are not listening. Instead, they’re proposing to give every senior a $250.00 cash bonus before the election. Now, what does that sound like?

Number one, those who are not senior citizens don’t get anything, so the “bonus” is disproportionate. Number two, they are not addressing the real issue. Number three, they are giving us back our own money. Number four, they are giving us this money just before the vote is to be taken in November. If this is not transparent, I don’t know what is.

Folks, my name is not Ben Nelson or Mary Landrieu; I don’t want their bribes.

They are quick to point their finger at me and blame me for their ills, calling me a “Tea Party” member as if it were some type of social disease. They call me a “Right Wing Extremist,” chastise me for being an ex-military member, and want to trample on me because I’m “astroturf.”

Well, I’m one of those “silent majority” types who are now vocal. I’m sick and tired of this stench. Fed up. Angry.

We now have an opportunity to correct the situation. Let’s do it. Let’s roll.

BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING

SPECIAL POST

You have GPS in your car. You have a separate GPS handheld device. You have a cell phone. You have a laptop with internet access. You have a desktop computer with internet access. You have credit cards. You have a checking account and a savings account.

I, an obscure government agent in an obscure government office, a person you did not even know exists, can now determine:

  • Your income and the income of your spouse
  • What you bought at Wal-Mart
  • Where you were at 11:45 AM yesterday
  • Who you were talking with on your cell phone at that time
  • What you were browsing on the internet at that time
  • How much you spent for lunch and how many people were in your party
  • How much you spent on sexual aids last month
  • Whether you spent more than you took in last month
  • If you have a secret lover
  • Whether or not you take medications for bowel problems
  • And so very much more.

Yasir Afifi, a 20-year-old computer salesman and college student, took his car in for an oil change and his mechanic spotted an odd wire hanging from the undercarriage. That led to the discovery of a GPS monitoring device. Granted, one could assume by the name that he could be a middle-eastern terrorist, but no such connection had been made. The Federal government asserted in court that the device was not subject to the wiretapping laws.

Several months ago, thousands of websites and blogs were summarily shut down without notice and without court order by the federal government and all news regarding this event was immediately blacked out.

How safe do you feel with our government?

Who are you going to vote for in November?

ONE OBAMA TRAGEDY AFTER ANOTHER

Obama has said many things proven to be untrue. He has made many predictions that have not occurred. He has made many promises, all broken. Eric Holder announced he was going to try Khalid Sheik Mohamed and his side-kicks in downtown New York because the rules for evidence were a lot more favorable in a civilian Court than a Military Tribunal.

Opening statements are beginning with those “in the know” divided over whether the trial of Ahmed Khalfan Ghailani should open the door to a civilian trial for Khalid Sheik Mohammed and others. Ghailani is charged with conspiring with others including Osama bin Laden to blow up two U.S. embassies in Africa in August 1998. The attacks killed 224 people, including 12 Americans. If convicted, Ghailani could face life in prison. He has been accused by the government of being a bomb maker, document forger and aide to bin Laden.

However, prosecutors will proceed without their top witness after the Judge ruled last week that the witness’ testimony that he sold explosives to Ghailani must be excluded because the government only learned about him after Ghailani was water-boarded.

Isn’t that great? The first trial out of the shoot and we’re in trouble already. It’s just another one of those many Obama Administration fiascos. The arrogant ineptness of the whole damned regime is downright scary.

TWO YEARS: MEMORIES WE WOULD RATHER NOT HAVE

SPECIAL POST

In almost two years, Obama has not been able to advance one inch in dealing with Iran.

It came out at the end of 2009 that scientists were altering the facts when it came to talking about the climate, and there was White House Climate Czar and Al Gore advisor, Dr. John P. Holdren, right in the middle of it.

Despite imminent political losses in November, Obama is still dead set on getting his Climate Cap & Trade Bill through Congress, at an additional cost to the nation of $148 trillion over 10 years. And, should Congress not respond to his demands, he’s ordered the EPA to get the job done outside of Congressional action.

Back in December of 2009, the nation was wondering what the President was going to do about the unemployment problem. We’re still wondering.

Also in December of 2009, I said: “Our real war is not with terrorists; our real war is with the bastards on the Hill and in the White House who are willing to sell this country down the drain financially and change our government economically without a shot being fired.”

Obama lied, cheated, schemed, called names and bullied Congress into passing the Health Care Bill in March of 2010 and the Democrats all followed his lead without even reading a damned word of the 2,300 page Bill.

Eric Holder announced that he was moving the terrorists and holding their trials in New York City, and the nation went into an uproar. Obama backed Holder to the hilt and firmly said those were his intentions as well and all of the Democrats in Congress blindly followed Obama again. Eventually, the matter was put on the back burner and still festers, but Obama may be planning to renew his efforts in the lame duck session. Dozens have already quietly been moved from Gitmo to the Thomson Correctional Center in Illinois.

The Health Care Bill that was eventually passed does not limit malpractice awards, cut insurance premiums, resolve the prescription drug issues, deal with the Medicare crisis, or ensure seniors that they will not be called before death squads. It does, however, encourage insurance companies to raise our premiums, increases the national debt by over $1 trillion and still leaves 20 million or so Americans uninsured. Obama still champions it and the Democrats who voted for it are refusing to talk about it. Although Obama promised that it would be passed during completely open hearings, secrecy ruled the day.

ACORN was misspending our money and encouraging illegal acts. In case you forgot, ACORN worked extensively for Obama during his Presidential campaign and he was their attorney. ACORN eventually split up into smaller groups with a multitude of names, but they are all still connected and are all involved heavily in the coming elections. And, word has it, they are getting federal dollars into their coffers again, too.

Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi made continuous asses out of themselves with their lying, bullying and name calling.

Moody’s has warned the country numerous times that we cannot sustain our debt, but nobody in Washington is doing anything about it. Congress raised our national debt ceiling by almost $2 trillion.

Obama has been totally dragging his feet on the immigration issue and has ordered Holder to sue Arizona because it is trying to force the Feds to live up to the law. Democrats have written a Bill and are ready to pass it in the lame duck session that will grant total and complete amnesty to all illegals living in the United States and no one has yet to devise a sure-fire way to close the border.

Ben Nelson got a huge concession on the Medicaid issue for Nebraska in return for his vote for the health care plan. Remember that? It came after he was “allegedly” threatened by Rahm Emmanuel that he’d better toe the line of they would close Offutt Air Force Base. Nelson denied that story but took the Medicaid concessions and voted FOR the health care plan.

Representative Alan Grayson tried to jail a blogger who wrote against him.

Then there was Haiti, devastated by horrendous, calamitous earthquakes and responded to by an American government that could not provide hospitals or shuffle relief flights into or out of the country.

Only a blind stroke of luck prevented a plane from blowing up over Detroit. Obama and his cabinet stooges celebrated by claiming how great our defenses were.

Although FBI statistics show that the more guns people own and carry the lower the crime rate becomes, Obama, Holder, Emmanuel and the Democrat controlled Congress continued their relentless attempt to ban guns through court actions, and lost in Washington, D.C. and Chicago, Il.

While chastising Tea Partiers and opponents for being “racists,” Obama fanned the flames himself with help from Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter and Harry Reid.

Obama, Geithner, Bernanke and company continued to pour millions and billions of money into A.I.G., Goldman Sachs and other companies who were passing the money out like candy to top executives in the form of raises and bonuses. Congress called Geithner and Bernanke to the carpet, slapped their wrists and winked their eyes.

Scott Brown did the unthinkable in taking Ted Kennedy’s old Senate Seat and Harry Reid threatened not to promptly seat him.

Obama was running around telling everyone how great his American Recovery Act was doing; when the facts came out that the numbers being reported were purely fiction, Obama retorted that statistics don’t matter anyway.

The F.C.C. shut down thousands of blogs and the Administration buried the story.

Louisiana’s Mary Landrieu sold out her vote against the health care bill for what was thought to be $100 million. But, she promptly corrected everyone by saying it was $300 million and she did what was right for Louisiana.

Mortgage delinquencies and home foreclosures skyrocketed, new home sales plummeted, and now we find out that not only were loans mishandled when the money was being given out under pressure from Barney Frankfarter and Charles Dodd, but that the foreclosure process has been badly tainted as well.

It was discovered that elementary students are being subjected to singing songs praising Obama and writing stories talking about how our ancestors were bad guys.

You know, I’m just getting warmed up. I have gone back over just a few months of postings to come up with all of this. I can fill twice as many more lines with the things that our President and his dummies in Congress have done to us. It just goes on, and on, and on.

China attacked our computers. North Korea told Obama to essentially take a hike. BP played a real dog and pony show in the Gulf and the President bought into it. On and on.

Don’t you think it’s time we put the blame where it really belongs and put an end to this misery?  Please... Vote on November 2nd.

NEW YORK MOSQUE PROCEEDS

Remember the Health Care Plan that nobody wanted? Remember that no one gave a damn what we wanted and that they voted it in anyway?

Here comes the Mosque.

Developers have now released the design drawings for their new facility. Although it is claimed that the money to build the Mosque has not been fully raised, work to demolish the existing structure could start within days, not more than a week or two away. In fact, the money could already be in an off-shore account awaiting last-minute transfer into a New York bank.

The news media has been strangely silent, as if the White House told them all to shut up and not to report on the matter. In the meanwhile, Osama Bin Laden is once again on the muscle, threatening that he and his followers are going to do some serious damage in Europe and, maybe, the United States. This is all Muslim activity and we’re less than a year away from the tenth anniversary of 9/11.

When are we going to get the guts to stand up and do something about what our government is allowing to be done to us?

HOW THE INCUMBENTS REALLY PROCESS THEIR THOUGHTS

SPECIAL POST

A week or so ago, I took on Lisa Murkowski and people like her who are not willing to accept the fact that the majority might not like them. These are the ones who decide to play the unethical game of running as independents or third party candidates in an effort to split the vote and secure victory for themselves with less than 50% of the vote. Murkowski, ticked off to no end that she was soundly beaten in the primaries, turned to the Libertarians to put her on the November ballot as their candidate. They refused. Now, she’s running as a “write in” candidate because there was no other way she could get a spot on the ballot.

Back in the primary days, she set about trashing Joe Miller, the guy who ultimately walloped her. She went on and on about what a lousy lawyer he was and how it would be a very bad choice for Alaskans to make should they vote for him. And, she hasn’t stopped.

What’s amazing is that Lisa Murkowski flunked her bar exam four times in a row.

I submit to you that this is how those guys think, the ones who piously stand there and tell us that they, and only they, know what is good for us as they vote for things we do not want. And yes, by the way, I understand that I am picking on a Republican. But, she certainly serves to make the point that we need to vote against incumbents. I have said it for well over a year: It has become a “culture” in Washington to think that they can get away with anything and we, the people, are simply in the way of things. Further, if “we, the people,” take it upon ourselves to remove “them, the elitist, self-serving, pious and non-responsive” ones, then it is only fit and proper that they should ignore us and find ways around us.

These people must be removed. We can get the entire House in this election and 1/3 of the Senate and two years from now, we can get another 1/3 of the Senate and maybe, pray to God, that damned culture they created will finally be dissolved.

TAX SHAFT: It’s Only A Matter Of When

Our most-highly celebrated Congress has decided to go home and wait until after the elections to “reach their decision” on whether or not to allow the Bush tax cuts to expire.

What does that mean? Well, let’s think it through together.

Leaving the Republicans aside because we all know where they stand, if the rest of them who happen to hold the majority in both houses and who WILL hold that majority until Congress reseats in January, intend to keep the Bush tax cuts in place, they’d vote on it now to try and gain favor with their constituents. If they intend to keep the cuts in place for the middle class and to raise taxes on the rich, they don’t want to do that right now because that will simply tick off both sides. If they intend to let the Bush tax cuts expire completely and give the whole nation the shaft, they’ll also wait until after the election so they can claim it as a “pay back” for losing both Houses of Congress.

So, it’s one of the latter two.

Nancy Pelosi has already made it plain as day that she intends to see all of the Bush tax cuts expire. Reid is a vengeful man and, after he loses in November, he’ll be all primed to let the Bush tax cuts expire entirely.

All of this conjecturing pretty much paints the picture, doesn’t it? Hold on to your knapsacks.

More than that, the fact that the present majority doesn’t have the guts to stand and be counted before the election underscores the dirty, rotten and conniving ways they have managed themselves for the past two years, with the Health Care Bill, stimulus, etc, etc, etc. The more I see of these lying, two-faced sacks of el toro pupu, the angrier I become. They have played the American public as suckers for so long, I can’t remember.

Joe Biden, the Archbishop of Candor, even had the temerity to tell them to quit their whining.

I don’t know about you, but I am sick and tired of the whole damned bunch. I’m to the point I don’t want to hear from them, I don’t want to hear about them and I sure as hell don’t want to hear that they’ve been reelected.

Can’t blame me for that, can you?

TO ALL CITIZENS OF THE GREAT AMERICAN REPUBLIC

Never before in the history of this great country has the participation of the electorate been more profoundly required. The events of the past two years most certainly have proven that complacency and inaction are intensely dangerous to our Union. It is up to us to assert our rights as citizens and to take back our country from the control of those misguided souls who believe that our Constitution placed the power and authority of government in their hands and not ours.

We must make firm and unbreakable plans to vote this November 2nd. If not registered, we must register. If we are going to be away from our polling places, we must secure absentee ballots now. And, we need to spend an hour or more every day of the week for the next five weeks learning about the various candidates, their views, their history and their track records. We must look with severely critical eyes at the records of incumbents and we must summarily dismiss any lame excuses for poor decisions and failure to respond to the wishes of the populace.

We cannot survive even two more years of the horribly bad government that we have seen for the last twenty-two years.

NOW IT'S OUR TURN

The White House came out yesterday and announced that the recession is over. To my recollection, this is about the third time that the White House has been out trumpeting non-existent success. What we can expect next, as has happened more than dozens of times in this administration, is that in some obscure newspaper in some obscure town on a Saturday morning, you’ll find on page 19 of the local newspaper a one paragraph statement saying that, alas, they made a mistake, the recession hadn’t ended.

I’m sorry to say this about the President of the United States, but the guy is a liar. He is a liar, his administration is a liar, Pelosi is a liar, and Reid doesn’t tell the truth. Virtually every “fact” and “figure” that has been released by these stalwarts of American government has been an outright lie. Think about it. Obama is a two-bit pathological liar and the rest of them are blindly following in the “wanna be” mode. The approval rating of Congress, the last I heard, was down into the teens. Obama, Reid and Pelosi are running around saying what a great job Congress does. What does that tell you?

This total lack of ethics and veracity at the pinnacle of our government has to be destroyed. It’s infecting our government employees, our state legislatures, our local governments, our education system and now, our homes; children come home from school every day with some of the most outrageous excuses for misbehavior that we have ever heard. Poor Lindsay Lohan, she just couldn’t help herself; maybe the caffeine in her lunch drinks did her in. Paris Hilton’s grandfather, believe it or not, ate his cereal without sugar on it and that turned her into a porno star and cocaine addict. Obama’s father left the family when he was young and that gives him the absolute right to lie.

The day is at hand, my friends, when we need to get back to the basics of being parents, children, employees, and Americans. A good place to start is in Washington, D.C. By getting rid of the derelicts who are in charge at such a high level, we have the opportunity to install men and women who speak the truth, accept responsibility for their own actions, believe in America’s heritage, and who are willing to listen to what we citizens are thinking.

I do recognize that this is a tall order, but we all know that it has to be done.

I want someone in Washington who, when 70% of the population is against a bill, will vote against it regardless of what the Speaker or the Majority Leader commands. I want someone there who, when a colleague commits a crime or has a severe lack of ethics, will call that person to task and see that he or she pays the penalty for their transgressions. I want someone who will not allow a 2,700 page bill to be created in the first place but, should that happen, will refuse to vote on it until they have read it.

You know how long this list could be, were I to list the multitudes and multitudes of things this Administration has succeeded in perpetrating against us. It really serves no purpose, other than historical, to list them here. It doesn’t do us any real good to lay out the blame, especially when we by our complacence must share some of that blame. What does matter is that we are virtually at the eve of having the opportunity to do something about it.

The primaries are behind us and now we face the general election. We have done an excellent job of ferreting out some of the bad guys so far. When we step into the voting booth on November 2nd, we have the opportunity to finish the job. Let us not falter or waver in our purpose. We have a job to do; let’s get it done.

EVEN IN TODAY’S CLIMATE, BAD POLITICS ABOUNDS

SPECIAL POST

It seems to me that when you lose, you lose. I know that as a kid, if I lost a game of chess, I’d just throw all of the pieces on the floor. That of course, made me the winner, because I’d then get up and walk out of the room to leave my opponent with the chore of cleaning up the mess. What a real sport I was.

Turning to politics and the primaries, you’ve had more than one candidate lose to his or her opponent and then decide to run as a third party candidate or even, most recently, a write-in candidate. The theory is this: With three candidates in the race, and with your position now drawing from the other two candidates, you could theoretically win even though you lost.

Here’s how crappy this end-run game plan gets. If you had 100,000 voters in the primary and you lost with only 40,000 votes, then you had 300,000 people turn out for the general election and you won with 110,000 votes, you actually won the whole ball game while being a minority vote-getter. You effectively cheated, in this case, 190,000 people who voted against you in the general election and you only had 110,000 votes.

To me, this goes against the grain of a fair game and it is unethical. Those who play this game including Alaska’s Lisa Murkowski and Florida’s Charlie Crist should be ashamed of themselves. This is straight from the playbook of “politics as usual,” that we’re all so sick and tired of. You know full well that, if elected back to Washington, they’ll continue to play those games that got us all into this mess. We need good leaders who will fairly represent our interests, not good politicians who spin, twist and don't give a damn about what the voters want.

Don’t be to blame for more crapola in politics; don’t vote for this type of candidate.

HEALTH CARE BILL: The Chickens Are Coming Home To Roost

Well, the next time you run across one of those Democrats who clawed and climbed over each other to sign on to the Health Care Bill that nobody wanted… you know them, they’re the ones who refuse to talk about the Bill in their reelection campaigns because they know we’re more than a tad ticked off about it… ask him or her this question:

“Mr. or Mrs. Candidate, assuming that the Republicans take control of both houses of Congress in November, and assuming that they enact a Bill to cancel the Health Care Bill, and assuming that President Obama vetoes that Bill, how would you vote in a Congressional attempt to override the veto?” In other words, are they embarrassed enough about the damned Health Care Bill that they voted for to retract it? Or, are they only embarrassed enough to duck the issue during the reelection campaign?

Now let’s play some nice, soft music: This one’s called, “The Squirm Dance Rhumba.”

More and more Americans who were ambivalent about the Bill are now coming to the realization that things are not turning out exactly as Barry, Harry and Nancy were saying they would. In fact, Madame Pelosi, now that we’ve had a chance to read the Bill to find out what’s in it, most of us would rather suck on a lemon. How you had the audacity to do this dastardly deed to your fellow Americans is beyond me.

Candidates are well aware of the fact that the Bill is very, very, very unpopular and, although they thought we’d get over it, they’re discovering that their vote for the Bill may have sealed their political fate. While that fact is making them a tad uncomfortable, the plain and simple matter of fact that this was just the straw that broke the armadillo’s back. It was just one more affront to the American intellect, one more bad piece of legislation, one more put-down of a citizen’s right not to have government involved in his daily life and one more example of total government irresponsibility.

Now that we have our Tea Parties, it seems that no one in Washington wants to come for tea?

November 2nd is virtually just around the corner. Short of a declaration of war, the stage is set for the people to extract their pound of flesh. Many incumbents have already been knocked off in the primaries and many more are staring their own unemployment straight in the face. If unemployment kicks back up to 10.0% and it’s because so many incumbents got pink slips, we’ll all be delighted.

And, we’re not to blame.

JERRY BROWN FLAPS OFF AT THE MOUTH

Jerry Brown, California's Attorney General and now candidate for Governor, (again), made off the cuff remarks that slighted good old boy Bill Clinton over the weekend.  The remarks alluded to Clinton's propensity for lying.  Jerry caught serious flak over it and has had to issued an apology to Clinton and to fellow Democrats.

Whether or not Jerry hit the nail on the head is not the issue; it's another one of those things about being "politically correct."  Jerry made the remark and stepped into deep pigeon dung and those of us who are old enough to remember when Jerry was California's Guv before know fully well how his mouth often leads him into oblivion.

They don't call Jerry "Moonbeam" for nothing, and this is but one of example of why.

We don't need Jerry in office again.  He's an old time politician and we all know how old time politicians have been screwing this country up for decades.  He's part of a problem California does not need again.

If we vote him in, we will have nobody to blame but ourselves.

MY CHOICE FOR A NEW MOSQUE LOCATION

SPECIAL POST

This post may not be politically correct. It certainly is a sensitive issue, especially in light of recent events, but what will be said here has to be said sometime, and I feel that the time has come.

Nine years ago, radical Muslims unleashed the power of their hatred toward us at the World Trade Center. As a result of that attack, our nation became aware that there are certain factions on this planet which want to annihilate us. Indeed, we had somehow had the audacity to presume that, just because we are Americans, the world is in love with us.

There are, of course, many reasons that radical Muslims want to see us beheaded and set on fire; I won’t dwell on them. What IS important to recognize and to fully realize is that our country has become permeated with members of the Muslim faith who have migrated here from countries that foster terrorism. I‘ve heard it mentioned quite frequently in these past few days that we need to be ready for terrorism from within, and we must. Yet, those remarks are made in a general context and usually contain the caveat that we have totally American factions within the country who would do us harm in order to advance their own agendas as well. But, those factions have always existed in this country going back to pre-revolutionary times and we have always been able to deal with them; what we need to really concern ourselves with in 2010 is the threat of domestic terrorism raised from internal radical Muslim groups.

Let me be quick to say that I am not suggesting we should round up all Muslims and ship them out of the country. What does concern me, however, is that Muslims of all walks of life in this country have been somewhat reluctant to denounce radical Islam. One therefore must wonder what side of the fence they would all stand on if the call came from radical Muslim leaders to strike us from within. Would they join us, or them?

I feel that we Americans must be totally aware of the dangers that lurk within our country and that we must constantly contemplate the potential outcomes of possible and probable internal terrorism. In that regard, moving the Mosque from its intended location near the ground-zero World Trade Center site to the actual site itself seems to me to be the right solution. Having the Mosque on that hallowed ground would certainly serve as a constant reminder to us that we are now living in a dangerous time and a dangerous world. Moving it to some other out-of-sight place could serve to return us to our complacent vulnerability.

IF MCCAIN HAD WON?

Would the economy be better? McCain doesn’t have the business acumen needed to get things cooking any more than Obama does. But, I do think he would have called together the nation’s top experts on the subject and that he would have listened to what they had to say. Obama hasn’t even done that.

Would the New York Mosque be built? Absolutely not; I think McCain would have fought that one tooth and nail, just because of his military experiences. And, the guys down in Guantanamo would all still be there; none of them would have been released to go back and fight with the Taliban and Al Queda, as has Obama has allowed. No one would have dared to suggest that Khalid Sheik Mohamed be tried in New York City, either.

Would the new Health Care Plan have been passed? Not in its present form. I think there would have been steps taken against malpractice lawsuits and awards and against escalating insurance costs. On the other hand, I would also have expected an open and outright attack on Social Security and Medicare benefits, instead of the subtle, sneaky one that Obama undertook.

Would there be constant lies about statistics and accomplishments? No, McCain likes to take it on the chin. In this respect, he’s not a coward, but he’s a stand up guy. And, I don’t think he’d be blaming Bush for everything, either.

Would the Gulf Oil Spill have happened? Undoubtedly, but I don’t think McCain would have given BP an award for outstanding rig safety and drilling practices, either. I also think he would have reached out for help and that it would have been mitigated within the first 30 days; he certainly would not have turned away help like Obama did.

Would we have spent trillions of dollars on stimulus programs? Well, we would have spent money, not as much by far, by reducing taxes and giving some incentives for employers to hire. We certainly would not have been taking over banks and automobile companies. I think that unemployment would therefore be lower… not at the 5% levels we had going in to this mess, but certainly not at 10%, either. I think the figure might be closer to 7% and that there would be a somewhat better economic stability, although not by a whole lot. And, I feel there would be a full-fledged investigation into who did what when causing the mess in the first place.

Would the Tea Party exist? I think it might. There has been growing discontent with Washington in recent years. Nevertheless, I think the Tea Party targets would be the same, to control spending and reduce taxes and to get some sense of responsibility back into the government.

Where would McCain be in the opinion polls? Obama is in the dumps, with the majority of Americans thinking he is doing a poor job. I think McCain would be faring better, maybe 51% or 52% of Americans supporting his job. But, he’d be under horrendous and relentless fire from the media and press.

Would Palin be a better Vice President than Biden? Without question, I think you would see her as being a strong asset for the President instead of detracting and providing an opportunity for guffaws.

The country would not be moving toward Marxism under McCain, that’s for certain. On the other hand, the main drawback to having McCain as President is that the nation would be left without a Robert Gibbs to provide laughter and frivolity while fumbling blindly through the day.

Frankly, we’re to blame for having considered either one of them for the job.

DEMOCRATS, OTHERS SHAKING IN THEIR BOOTS?

If I’ve heard it once in the past week, I’ve heard it two dozen times: the Democrats are afraid of the election and are shaking in their boots. The second fear I have heard, not quite so frequently, is that ALL incumbents are worried about the foreboding November elections. There’s even an inference that we, the citizens, are to blame for their fears.

Well, I’m glad they are shaking in their boots, but they really have no one to blame but themselves. After all, and I’m sure you will remember, they are the ones who called us names, talked down to us in their condescending ways, and then proceeded to pass the health care plan and stimulus plans and other legislation that we, the people, we solidly against. They followed Nancy and Harry and Barry into the back rooms of Congress, struck their dirty deals, and shoved it where the sun does not shine. They even had the gall to admit that they had not read what they passed.

Now, they’re nervous? They’re afraid? I don’t know about you, but I have no pity for them. They have screwed, screwed, screwed and screwed you, me and all of our friends.

Let’s keep the focus. They do have to be removed. All of the squirming in the world does not change the fact that they have betrayed the public trust.

CHAIRMAN BARACK: MORE OF THE SAME BLAME GAME

Many times in our history when times were tough or the situation dire, Presidents have come back from a brief respite with innovative new ideas to fix things. Chairman Barack has just returned from a ten day retreat with what is obviously going to be more of the same defiant, holier-than-thou attitude that has led our country deep into the throes of impending economic and psychological depression.

He’s still blaming Bush and the Republicans for all of his mistakes. He wants to have more of the runaway, irresponsible spending that is threatening the retirement incomes of our grand children and not helping our country one damned bit. He wants to raise taxes and to place heavier burdens on our unemployed, underemployed, underpaid citizens and businesses. He calls those who question his tactics “irresponsible,” and he derides those who won’t kiss his damned ring and go along with the program.

Hundreds of thousands of people showed up in Washington on the 28th to protest the status quo and to pledge a renewal toward truth and faith.  Our President dismissed them as a “few people” who don’t agree with him; he dismissed Glenn Beck as being one of “those who are always stirring things up.” He has dismissed Americans as being “misguided” as if we can’t think for ourselves.

Well, we CAN think for ourselves, Chairman Barry. We don’t want any more of your benevolent leadership garbage. We don’t want any more of your eloquent speeches and dialogue. We don’t want any more of your talk downs and your arbitrary dismissals of public concern.

We’re tired of your blaming Bush, blaming the Republicans and blaming US for your actions that are worsening our economy, our security and our future every minute of every day.

Yes, we want change all right. Yes, you fit very much in our desires for change. If you don’t have anything good to say, keep your mouth shut. If your actions are hurting the country, quit taking actions. If you can’t do your job the way we want you to do your job, pack up and hightail it out of town. Go stand in the unemployment line for a day or two and get a real grasp on what your administration is doing to our country. There’s a whole bunch of people out there in those lines who can say it better than I can and are certainly willing to do so.

A REAL man, faced with a nation of people who so abundantly have made it clear they do not appreciate what he has done, would stop and be a little more introspective. But, I guess Obama will never, ever be introspective, because he just might find out where the blame for things in America really belongs.

AMERICA IS MISSING THE REAL POLITICAL DRIFT

SPECIAL POST

We all had our focus just a few weeks ago when the Obama radicals started their campaign to distort what is real. We all knew in our hearts and souls that we had to get rid of the establishment, the incumbent s.o.b.’s who have created our national mess at a federal and a state level over the last several decades. Yes, we agreed, regardless of being Democrat or Republican or Independent, if they have been for of the “good old boy” Washington network, they have to go.

Have we lost sight of that objective?

Two prime examples of where I am going with this special post are: (1) You have Carly Fiorina running against Barbara Boxer and you have the public concern that Fiorina is new to politics, has lots of money and ran HP; (2) You have Meg Whitman running against Jerry Brown and you have the outcry that Whitman is spending millions and millions of her own money to win and SHE has no political experience.

Come one folks, get real. We all know that Barbara Boxer is a tartly little snit who has consistently voted for her own special interests and who has ignored the will of the people. We are aware of her elitist put-downs of Generals and others and we know that she has done a great disservice to the country. I submit that Craig Highfellow would be a much better occupant of that Senate seat than Boxer. Who is Craig Highfellow? I don’t know either and that makes the point; Boxer has done such a bad disservice to us that she needs to be replaced… by anyone! So, don’t get tangled up in the bad Fiorina press; we don’t yet know what kind of a Senator she would make, but we certainly know what kind of a Senator Boxer has been.

Same with the Whitman vs. Brown Gubernatorial race. We KNOW from past experience what kind of a Governor Brown will be. We need to choose anyone but him.

Unlike prior elections, this is not about who runs the slickest campaign or who has the most money or who talks the nicest. This is about corruption in office, a lack of responsibility to the citizens, and cavalier spending and misspending of our money. This is about an establishment that simply must be removed.

So, don’t be to blame for not routing out the establishment. Don’t get sidetracked with fallacious arguments.

Throw the incumbents and the establishment out, OUT, OUT.

MEXICO FALLING INTO ANARCHY?

The number of drug related deaths in Mexico is growing by the second. Victims are found hanging upside down from their legs, with their heads lopped off. Bullets are flying in all directions, including over the border and into American homes and businesses. Every day brings more stories of judges and civic leaders being murdered and major cities falling into anarchy.

Americans living in Mexico are now being pried out of their comfortable retirement abodes and are flocking back across the border, fleeing for their lives. Now, more than ever, Mexicans are looking to the North for a venue of safe haven.

The Obama Administration has responded with great aplomb: they’re adding 1,200 National Guard troops to the border and another 1,000 Border Patrol agents as well. Word is wafting about in Washington that Obama is preparing to open the borders wide and to offer to house and feed the fleeing Mexicans and to provide them with some of the trappings of health care, education, housing, and jobs. Usually, when something wafts around the streets and alleys of Washington, there’s substance to it.

I’m not suggesting that we should turn our backs on humanity. But, let me ask you a question: If all of the clean-living Mexicans come across the border and leave only the drug lords and their puppets behind, what do you think those drug lords and puppets will do next? The fact is, they’re already jumping the borders themselves and committing murder and mayhem in Phoenix, Nogales, Tucson and other border cities. Obama and his Czarist cronies in the White House are responding with yawns and shrugs.

We have a major problem here that is not only brewing, it’s beginning to boil.

Those of us who live up north are able to watch the horrors and atrocities oozing forth from the border and to say, “Gosh, gee whilikers, those folks down there are having a tough time of it.” If you are afraid of the American gang activities going on across the country right now, wait until these Mexican gangs and drug lords bring their forms of onslaught to a street near you. The Obama Administration has proven beyond a reasonable doubt that it is either incapable of giving the issue proper response or it simply doesn’t care how much turmoil we have in America.

It’s time for us to take the bull by the horns and to start demanding action from Congress. We need a large number of troops on the boarder and we need to be partnering with the Mexican government to help them clean this mess up… whether their government wants our help or not. Only when the drug lords are killed or locked up can peace return to the Mexican countryside and only then can the pressure for Mexicans to cross the border into the United States be diminished.

If there is a war to be fought anywhere, the one closest to home should take precedence. If there is anyone to blame in America for this mess, it’s the incumbent in the White House and his allies in the Congress.

SICK AND TIRED OF DONATION REQUESTS

SPECIAL POST

Here’s an interesting complaint from a reader of the BURNEY MOUNTAIN HERMIT.

“Why is it that every political candidate, every political party, every charitable cause and every other organization looking for a handout is picking on me? I get so much mail every day that it will not fit in my box. I only get 35 telephone calls a week and 34 of those are from someone looking for money; the other call is from my ex-wife’s attorney, looking for money. When I tell them I can’t afford to give, they argue with me. When I tell them I don’t support their organization, they argue with me. When I tell them I’m on the national do not call registry, they argue with me.

“I’ve been out of work for almost two years. I’ve put out at least 1,000 resumes and personally gone for 100 or more job openings, (along with 500 or more people each time). Do I get any telephone calls or letter from those people? No, all I get is people looking for money I do not have.

“My God, one day I got a call from the Republican National Committee and when I hung up the phone, Nancy Pelosi’s office was calling me.

“Don’t you understand how low I feel? I’m about to lose my house and my car. My savings and retirement are all gone. My wife walked out on me and took the kids. And now these money hungry idiots come along and belittle me and argue with me because I can’t kick in 'Just $25?'

“How dare you! Who in the hell do you think you are, you pious holier-than-thou vermin who have never missed a meal in your God damned lives?”

I totally understand.

BLAGOJEVICH VERDICT SYMPTOMATIC OF WHAT AILS AMERICA

Rod Blagojevich, the charismatic former Governor of Illinois, was found guilty of one count out of 24 pending against him by a Federal Jury yesterday; 23 ended up in a mistrial due to hung jury. Prosecutors were quick to vow that they will immediately seek a new trial on the remaining counts.

When you look back at the foul language, the forlorn cries of “What’s in it for me” and much of the other testimony that was revealed to the public, one’s first reaction might just be, “That’s Chicago-style politics.” But, I think it is more than that. I think it is an example of the decline of our morals and ethics in this country and I further think that such decline is directly responsible for the situation in which this country now finds itself.

“It’s of the “everything for me and screw everyone else” mentality. People of this culture tend to be smooth talkers who are of the opinion that he world owes them something. When you become that narcissistic, to the extent that you believe the world revolves around you, ethics and moral principles must inevitably take a back seat. In the evolution of things, it would seem to me that anarchy is the next step. We’re close to that now.

Those in places of high power who ignore the will of the people are of this mindset. They are so wrapped up in themselves that everyone else ceases to exist. And, as this mindset has permeated all facets of life in our country, we have lost work ethics, a strong sense of what is right and what is wrong, and we’ve had a basic decay of our society.

There was a day in my lifetime when this behavior was unacceptable. Things in this country were much better in those days. We looked up to politicians, we had much less crime and our country was not heading for international bankruptcy. We had ethics and morals and when people violated them, there was hell to pay. According to those rules, at least half of Congress would be out of a job today, and so would the President.

We simply have to get back to the basics of living by good and fundamental values. We need to instill those values in our children and we need to demand that they be followed. Otherwise, America will just keep on sinking into the abyss and we will be to blame.

REPUBLICANS HAVE RUDE AWAKENING COMING

SPECIAL POST

I’ve been called so many times by representatives of the Republican National Committee asking for donations lately that I’ve worn a hole in into the earpiece of my telephone. What’s really interesting is their reaction when I tell them that, “No, I’m definitely NOT contributing to the Republican National Committee this year. My money is going directly to the candidates.”

The argument comes from some that the Committee can’t provide background support to the candidates without funding. Others try to tell me that the bulk of candidate funding comes from the Committee. Recently, a lady proceeded to argue with me as to how I should donate my money and tried to denigrate me as a member of the Republican Party by saying that I’m not supporting the Republican Party unless I give to the Committee.

She hit the nail on the head. She needs to take the message and deliver it to the top. But, the top is not listening. The top still thinks that, when we vote for Republicans this fall, we will be subscribing to the ideals of the Party. They think it will be THEIR mandate.

They’re as dense as a San Fernando Valley fog.

The only reason we are going to be voting for Republican candidates this fall in many instance is because they are the lesser of two evils. We’re going to have to go through this cycle a few times until we get all of the politicians out who seem to think that we owe them something. There is no evidence that the National Committee has come to grips with the fact that they and their thinking are just as guilty for the problems this country faces today as are the Democrats and, indeed, the left-wing radicals as well. Further, there’s no sign that the National Committee is sincerely willing to change its ways.

If the Republican Party doesn’t step up to the plate by November, it likely will be one of three major political parties in the 2012 elections, because the Tea Party will most certainly morph into a political party of its own if substantial corrections are not made on the landscape in 2010.

In the meantime, you had Republicans spending Party money on lap dances in Los Angeles. There have been many other examples of flagrant abuse of the membership funds and support. But, there have been no changes at the top. That’s why MY money and MY support are going directly to the candidates.

This is the last stand.  If they don't wake up, they'll be the ones to blame.  If the candidates violate my trust and my donations this time around, my money and support will be going to the Tea Party next time around.
